An analysis of the signaling systems used in the Intelligent Communication Network has been carried out. The main probabilistic characteristics of signal information delay are determined. A method for calculating these characteristics for such error correction methods is proposed: basic error control method and preventive cyclical control method. The analysis of the delay of signal units from loading the signal network is carried out. Simple formulas are proposed for approximating the load applied to the signaling link. © 2022 IEEE.

Cyber theft is a serious threat to Internet security. It is one of the major security concerns by both network service providers and Internet users. Though sensitive information can be encrypted when stored in non-volatile memory such as hard disks, for many e-commerce and network applications, sensitive information is often stored as plaintext in main memory. Documented and reported exploits facilitate an adversary stealing sensitive information from an application's memory. These exploits include illegitimate memory scan, information theft oriented buffer overflow, invalid pointer manipulation, integer overflow, password stealing Trojans and so forth. Today's computing system and its hardware cannot address these exploits effectively in a coherent way. This paper presents a unified and lightweight solution, called InfoShield that can strengthen application protection against theft of sensitive information such as passwords, encryption keys, and other private data with a minimal performance impact. Unlike prior whole memory encryption and information flow based efforts, InfoShield protects the usage of information. InfoShield ensures that sensitive data are used only as defined by application semantics, preventing misuse of information. Comparing with prior art, InfoShield handles a broader range of information theft scenarios in a unified framework with less overhead. Evaluation using popular network client-server applications shows that InfoShield is sound for practical use and incurs little performance loss because InfoShield only protects absolute, critical sensitive information. Based on the profiling results, only 0.3% of memory accesses and 0.2% of executed codes are affected by InfoShield.

The covid-19 pandemic and Economic Policy Uncertainty resulting from the shutdown of production, withdrawal of investments, enforcement of lockdowns and quarantines globally, have been directly affecting stock markets worldwide. This study is thus an attempt to analyse the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on stock market behaviour in major affected economies. Moreover, the time frame was extended by using current data which investigate the impact of the virus during the boom and the blast phase in the country's most hit by the pandemic crisis such as China, Italy, UK and US. The frequency of the data is daily, and it dates from 3 January 2020 up to 10 February 2021. The considered time framework will give a deep insight into how stock markets behave in the case of an exogenous shock. The Dickey-Fuller Augmented Unit Root Test indicates that all the variables are stationary at first difference, which is one of the main conditions to have robust result, and the ARCH-LM test for the heteroskedasticity of the residuals, which show that all the probability values are significant, rejecting the null hypothesis of no ARCH effect. Based on the results of GARCH (1,1), we conclude that the change in stock markets volatility is positive and significant in China, Italy, UK and USA. This suggests that the impacts of COVID-19 outbreak and economic policy uncertainty on Stock Markets are a significant and Homogeneous across the studied countries, and the shock on FTSE Italia All Share has the longest time to vanish which makes it the riskiest to invest during this period, while the shock on SP500 USA has the shortest time to disappear meaning that it is safest Stock Market in this study. These findings have significant implications for policymakers, institutional and individual investors and Financial Markets analysts. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. All rights reserved.

The principles of solving the multicriteria problem of retail marketing for the rational choice of the location of trade enterprises (alternatives) based on the classical method of analysis of Saaty hierarchies, using the theory of fuzzy sets, are considered. The choice of the best alternative is carried out on the basis of the arguments of the maxima (abbreviated arg max), as the arguments, which are evaluated based on the operation of intersection of fuzzy sets of criteria. This approach is very practical from the point of view of using the experience and intuition of marketing workers and requires minimal costs to solve similar problems. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) plays an essential role to deal with uncertainty and ambiguity. However, the IFSs deal only with anticipation, not periodicity. But, complex IFSs (CIFS) can handle both uncertainties and periodicity at a time. Therefore, this paper focuses on a new multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) approach using Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM) operator in connection with the CIFS setting. Then, we develop some CIF partitioned based MSM (CIFPMSM) operators and their weighted form by considering that all the criteria can be arranged into some groups. The proposed operators not only deal with the interrelationship among criteria but also deal with the partitioned relationship among criteria. We discuss the properties of these proposed operators and investigate their cases. Finally, a decision-making approach for radio frequency identification (RFID) for manufacturing companies is developed based on the proposed operators and compared the results with the existing method to show the application and feasibility of the proposed method. © The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Taiwan Fuzzy Systems Association 2024.

A numerical study on the flow over a square cylinder in the vicinity of a wall is conducted for different Couette-Poiseuille-based non-uniform flow with the non-dimensional pressure gradient P varying from 0 to 5. The nondimensional gap ratio L (=H /a ) is changed from 0.1 to 2, where H is gap height between the cylinder and wall, and a is the cylinder width. The governing equations are solved numerically through finite volume method based on SIMPLE algorithm on a staggered grid system. Both P and L have a substantial influence on the flow structure, time-mean drag coefficient CD, fluctuating (rms) lift coefficient (C′L), and Strouhal number St. The changes in P and L leads to four distinct flow regimes (I, II, III and IV). Following the flow structure change, the CD , C′L, and St all vary greatly with the change in L and/or P. The CD and C′L both grow with increasing P and/or L. The St increases with P for a given L, being less sensitive to L for a smaller P ( 2). A strong relationship is observed between the flow regimes and the values of CD , CL and St. An increase in P affects the pressure distribution more on the top surface than on bottom surface while an increase in L does the opposite. © 2018 Techno-Press, Ltd.

This paper presents linguistic primitives for publish/subscribe programming using events and objects. We integrate our primitives into a strongly typed object-oriented language through four mechnisms: (1) serialization, (2) multiple subtyping, (3)closures, and (4) deferred code evaluation. We illustrate our primitives through Java, showing how we have overcome its respective lacks. A precompiler transforms statements based on our publish/subscribe primitives into calls to specifically generated typed adapters, which resemble the typed stubs and skeletons by the rmic precompiler for remote method invocations in Java

Faster R-CNN Deep Learning Model for Pedestrian Detection from Drone Images

Pedestrian detection from a drone-based images has many potential applications such as searching for missing persons, surveillance of illegal immigrants, and monitoring of critical infrastructure. However, it is considered as a very challenge computer vision problem due to the variations in camera point of view, distance from pedestrian, changes in illuminations and weather conditions, variation in the surrounding objects, as well as present of human-like objects. Recently, deep learning-based models are getting more attention, and they have proven a great success in many object detection problems such as the detection of faces, breast masses, and vehicles. As such, this work aims to develop a deep learning-based model that will be applied for the problem of pedestrian detection from a drone-based images. Particularly, faster region-based convolutional neural network (Faster R-CNN) will be used to search for the present of a pedestrian inside the captured drone-based images. To assess the performances, a total of 1500 images were collected by S30W drone and these images were captured at different places, with various views and weather conditions, and at daytime and night-time. Results show that Faster R-CNN was able to achieve a promising result with 98% precision, 99% recall, and 98% F1 measure. Further analysis has been conducted by comparing the outcomes of Faster R-CNN with YOLO deep model on UAV123 publicly available dataset. The reported results indicated that both detection models almost reported very similar results. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper presents a multi-level approach for self-organization of in cyber-physical system resources. Cyber-physical system consists of physical part and cyber part. For implementation of joint actions by devices in physical part, they have to interact in cyber part. It is proposed to use the smart space technology for exchange information between these devices in cyber part of cyber-physical system. Smart Space -- is a computational environment consisting of multiple heterogeneous services (electronic and computational devices, Internet pages, data based, etc.) which has intelligent behavior, can proactively provide information taking into account current situation. Smart spaces allow unifying different levels of services, implement self-organization of services in each level, and providing politics from upper to lower level. Self-organization on every level is implemented based on ontology-based context management techniques and ontology matching method that provides semantic interoperability between interacted robots. Discussed in the paper case study solve the task of self-organization three types of robots based on politics from operation planning services and context situation in smart space. For the scenario implementation the Smart-M3 information sharing platform is used. It provides easy-to-use interfaces for information sharing through the RDF ontologies and publish / subscribe mechanism for connected services.

We introduce a technique to compute several information estimations for Boolean and multivalued functions. Special features of these estimations for completely and incompletely specified logic functions, including symmetric logic functions are investigated. Finally, we give an algorithm for determining various information measures for logical functions based on decision trees.
