Chatbots use artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to construct a clever system. By copying human connections in the most helpful way possi-ble, chatbots emulate individuals and serve as virtual assistants. They easily interface and respond to customers' requests. In the modern technical environment, these conversation agents or chatbots are considered the next-generation invention. Chatbot has become more popular in the business field right now as it can reduce customer service cost and handle multiple users at a time. There are many techniques used to involve such intelligent experts in daily business. A comprehensive analysis of the methods is needed to determine the viability of the different strategies. This paper tracks the progress of this invention and further clarifies the influence of chatbots on numerous businesses. Besides, a survey of the multiple chatbot methodologies suggested by various researchers is provid-ed. Along with the survey, a chatbot e-commerce customer service is designed to provide an efficient and accurate answer for any query based on the dataset of frequently asked questions. This chatbot can reduce customer service costs and can handle multiple customers at the same time. © 2024 Bentham Science Publishers.

Automatic speech recognition (ASR) plays a crucial role in facilitating natural and efficient human–computer interaction. This paper offers a comprehensive review of ASR systems tailored specifically for the Gujarati language. Existing literature on Gujarati ASR indicates that most survey papers have focused solely on back-end classification methods. This paper aims to fill this gap by presenting a comprehensive survey that encompasses feature extraction techniques, backend models, speech datasets, and evaluation metrics. This review provides an in-depth analysis of the cutting-edge methodologies employed in the development of Gujarati ASR systems. Firstly, the paper discusses various feature extraction techniques. Secondly, it covers classification models and their impact on ASR performance. Thirdly, the study delves into available speech datasets relevant to the Gujarati language, offering valuable insights for researchers and practitioners. Finally, the paper reviews the evaluation parameters used in ASR systems. Additionally, it gives an overview of online toolkits, resources, and language models pertinent to Gujarati ASR. This review serves as a comprehensive reference for academics and professionals involved in the research and development of ASR systems for the Gujarati language. The parameters selected for comparison include front-end feature extraction methods, back-end classification techniques, speech dataset, and evaluation metrics. Furthermore, the paper discusses both the contributions and limitations encountered by current ASR systems during the review. Application of Response Surface Methodology for Analysing and Optimizing the Finned Solar Air Heater

In this research paper,a solar air heater with triangular fins has been experimentally analysed and ***,an experimental set-up of a solar air heater having triangular fins has been developed at the location of 28.10°N,78.23°*** heat transfer rate through fins and fins efficiency has been determined by the Finite Difference Method model *** experimental data and modeled data of response parameters have been optimized in MINITAB-17 software by the Response Surface Methodology *** creating the response surface design,three input parameters have been selected namely solar intensity,Reynolds number,and fin base-to-height *** range of solar intensity,Reynolds number,and fin base-to-height ratio is 600 to 1000W/m^(2),4000 to 6000,and 0.4 to 0.8 *** response surface design has been analyzed by calculating the outlet temperature,friction factor,Nusselt number,fin efficiency,thermal performance factor,and exergy *** optimum settings of input parameters:solar intensity is 1000 W/m^(2);Reynolds number is 4969.7,and the fin base to height ratio is 0.6060,on which these response:namely outlet temperature of 92.531℃,friction factor of 0.2350,Nusselt number of 127.761,thermal efficiency of 50.836%,thermal performance factor of 1.4947,and exergy efficiency of 8.762%.

Contactless and Real-time Hand Gesture Recognition using Inductive Proximity Technique for Wrist-worn Wearables

This study proposes a contactless and real-time hand gesture recognition system suitable for smartwatches. The proposed system adopts inductive proximity sensing to collect Mechanomyography (MMG) signals induced by finger-based gestures above the wrist. After the signal processing and feature extraction stages, machine-learning models can be built for gesture classification. Compared with the Electromyography (EMG)-based method generally deployed in the forearm, inductive MMG applies an electromagnetic field to the body surface and is suitable for use on the wrist. Compared to the existing contact methods, such as EMG and accelerometer-based MMG, the inductive MMG method does not require contact with the body surface to collect muscle action signals and can avoid interference from environmental factors such as sweat and dust. The main contributions of this study are (1) a watch-type prototype with inductive MMG sensing technique, including hardware and firmware;(2) a lightweight and efficient signal processing mechanism that can capture the inductive signal characteristics of gestures for the above-mentioned embedded system (i.e., watch-type prototype);and (3) the tempo-spatial feature extraction method to improve the accuracy of gesture recognition. The experiment results show that for six common machine learning models, the gesture recognition accuracy of the proposed system is above 95%, with a maximum of 97.47%. In the briefing control application for verification purposes, the average accuracy of the inductive gesture recognition system can achieve 98.26%, and the average processing time is 14.37 ms. According to the experimental results, the inductive MMG system can provide a feasible gesture recognition solution for wrist-worn wearable devices. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Unveiling the Power of Deep Learning: A Comparative Study of LSTM, BERT, and GRU for Disaster Tweet Classification

Disasters have serious effects on people's lives and buildings. Therefore, social media platforms, such as Twitter, have become more critical. They are crucial tools for responding to and managing disasters effectively. This study examined the effectiveness of various deep learning models, such as bidirectional encoder representations from transformers (BERT), gated recurrent units (GRU), and long short-term memory (LSTM) for classifying disaster-related tweets. Twitter data related to different disasters were collected using hashtags. The data were then cleaned, preprocessed, and manually annotated by a team. The annotated data were divided into training, validation, and testing sets. The data were used to train three models based on BERT, GRU, and LSTM for the categorical classification of disaster tweets. Finally, the three models were evaluated and compared using the test data. BERT achieved an accuracy of 96.2%, making it the most effective model. In contrast, the LSTM and GRU models achieved an accuracy of 93.2% and 88.4%, respectively. These findings underscore the potential effectiveness of deep learning models in classifying disaster-related tweets, offering insights that could enhance disaster management strategies, refine social media monitoring processes, bolster public safety, and provide directions for future research. © 2023 Institute of Electronics and information Engineers. A Deep Learning and Powerful Computational Framework for Brain Cancer MRI Image Recognition

Brain tumors are one of the deadliest diseases and require quick and accurate methods of detection. Finding the optimum image for research goals is the first step in optimizing MRI images for pre- and post-processing. As a result, the mean grey-level approach was used to segment the MRI images using a threshold. In the second stage of statistical feature analysis, the picture features were extracted using the spatial gray-level dependency matrix using Hara lick's feature equations. As a consequence, the best features were picked and the tumor was placed in the appropriate location. In the third stage, an automated tool for classifying the photographs under assessment as having a tumor or not was created utilizing supervised learning and an artificially intelligent methodology. An efficient test of the network's performance yielded 97% of the desired results. © 2023, The Institution of Engineers (India).

A voting-based trustworthy distributed IoT attack detection model

Besides the enhancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) distributed environment, anomalous activities are also escalating rapidly. Therefore, improving the trustworthiness of distributed networks is required for the extensive adoption of IoT infrastructure. Establishing a security mechanism in IoT networks is a challenging task as communication links are lossy and connected devices are resource-dependent. Conventional security techniques such as intrusion detection systems (IDS) are insufficient to shelter the IoT-distributed environment due to less computational capacity, restricted upgraded devices, and mismatched protocols. This paper proposes a novel machine learning-based trustworthy model for IoT attack detection. The proposed system combines the capability of Ada-boost and Gradient-boost to classify anomalous activities with low computational capacity proficiently and within a minimum time frame. Experiments were conducted on Distributed Smart Space Orchestration System (DS2OS) IoT dataset to assess the significance of the novel attack detection model. The demonstration shows that the proposed model obtains 98.28% training accuracy, 98.26% testing accuracy, and 99.25% AUC score. A confusion matrix has also been calculated to check the authenticity of the results—a comparison of the proposed model with individual learners and existing models proves that the proposed model outperformed. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Low-complexity detector performance evaluation for cell-free massive MIMO systems

In 5G, massive MIMO enhances spectral and energy efficiency through beamforming and spatial multiplexing, despite challenges like intercellular interference. It excels in user-centric transmissions, addressing interference and improving wireless communication with macro-diversity. Characterised by its scalability and a cell-free design, massive MIMO stands out from other wireless systems. The article explores the potential of a newly proposed detector, providing insight into its capabilities. Additionally, we examine the challenges associated with increased network backhauling overhead. Conjugate Gradient-based Likelihood Ascent Search (CGLAS), a robust signal detection approach, aims to improve convergence speed and reduce errors in cell-free massive MIMO. An analysis of various antenna configurations provides insight into the performance of the detector. Additionally, the joint channel estimation and signal detection (JCD) method is used in scenarios with imperfect Channel State information (CSI). The numerical results confirm CGLAS’ superiority, with a 3.9 dB performance improvement and a reduced execution time complexity. Copyright © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

Decomposition-based hybrid methods employing statistical, machine learning, and deep learning models for crude oil price forecasting

Crude oil prices (COP) profoundly influence global economic stability, with fluctuations reverberating across various sectors. Accurate forecasting of COP is indispensable for governments, policymakers, and stakeholders to make well-informed decisions and effectively mitigate risks. The decomposition-based hybrid models have been showing promising COP forecasting accuracy than other time series forecasting methods. Despite this fact, no systematic study has been conducted to evaluate the true potential of different decomposition-based hybrid methods employing different forecasting models to forecast the COP. Therefore, a hybrid modeling framework is developed by combining efficient decomposition techniques, namely empirical mode decomposition (EMD), ensemble EMD (EEMD), complete EEMD with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN), and variational mode decomposition (VMD) with seven statistical models, fourteen machine learning (ML) models, and six deep learning (DL) models. Further, a systematic study is conducted on the resulting decomposition-based hybrid models to find the best hybrid model for COP forecasting. Three distinct train-test data splits are employed to ensure a reliable evaluation of the models using four performance metrics. Extensive statistical analysis is conducted to identify the optimal combination of the decomposition technique and forecasting model for precise COP prediction. The results demonstrate that the proposed decomposition-based hybrid model employing VMD and Huber Regression is statistically the best method among all alternatives to forecast monthly COP. The proposed hybrid method VMD-Huber Regression improves the root mean square error (RMSE) by 21% than CEEMDAN-ARIMA, 58.31% than EEMD-Theta, 13.18% than EMD-Random Walk, and 49.44% than VMD-TBATS hybrid methods in 60–40 Train-Test split ratio. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

In recent years, IoT has transformed personal environments by integrating diverse smart devices. This paper presents an advanced IoT architecture that optimizes network infrastructure, focusing on the adoption of MQTT protocol and introducing Cognitive Smart Objects for managing personal IoT applications. These objects use Neural Networks to predict optimal actions based on user behavior patterns. A Continuous Learning mechanism enables real-time adaptation of the network to evolving user interactions.
