Recently, Transformer-based methods have shown impressive performance in single image super-resolution (SISR) tasks due to the ability of global feature extraction. However, the capabilities of Transformers that need to incorporate contextual information to extract features dynamically are neglected. To address this issue, we propose a lightweight Cross-receptive Focused Inference Network (CFIN) that consists of a cascade of CT Blocks mixed with CNN and Transformer. Specifically, in the CT block, we first propose a CNN-based Cross-Scale Information Aggregation Module (CIAM) to enable the model to better focus on potentially helpful information to improve the efficiency of the Transformer phase. Then, we design a novel Cross-receptive Field Guided Transformer (CFGT) to enable the selection of contextual information required for reconstruction by using a modulated convolutional kernel that understands the current semantic information and exploits the information interaction within different self-attention. Extensive experiments have shown that our proposed CFIN can effectively reconstruct images using contextual information, and it can strike a good balance between computational cost and model performance as an efficient model. In this paper, we present a random sampling algorithm to solve the shortest vector problem (SVP). The idea of our algorithm comes from the Gaussian hypothesis, which is one of the most important and commonly used hypotheses in solving SVP. The main idea of our method is to generate the points which approximately satisfy Gaussian hypothesis of a given lattice. To find the shortest vector, we set some rules to make the result of this sampling algorithm get shorter progressively. We evaluate our algorithm by statistical and geometrical tools and give a basic analysis of the efficiency of algorithm. According to our analysis, parameters can be optimized to achieve high efficiency. Practical experiments have been conducted to validate our result where we solve SVP instances with dimension from 80 to 100. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

It is a matter of fact that Europe is facing more and more crucial challenges regarding health and social care due to the demographic change and the current economic context. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has stressed this situation even further, thus highlighting the need for taking action. Active and Assisted Living (AAL) technologies come as a viable approach to help facing these challenges, thanks to the high potential they have in enabling remote care and support. Broadly speaking, AAL can be referred to as the use of innovative and advanced Information and communication Technologies to create supportive, inclusive and empowering applications and environments that enable older, impaired or frail people to live independently and stay active longer in society. AAL capitalizes on the growing pervasiveness and effectiveness of sensing and computing facilities to supply the persons in need with smart assistance, by responding to their necessities of autonomy, independence, comfort, security and safety. The application scenarios addressed by AAL are complex, due to the inherent heterogeneity of the end-user population, their living arrangements, and their physical conditions or impairment. Despite aiming at diverse goals, AAL systems should share some common characteristics. They are designed to provide support in daily life in an invisible, unobtrusive and user-friendly manner. Moreover, they are conceived to be intelligent, to be able to learn and adapt to the requirements and requests of the assisted people, and to synchronise with their specific needs. Nevertheless, to ensure the uptake of AAL in society, potential users must be willing to use AAL applications and to integrate them in their daily environments and lives. In this respect, video- and audio-based AAL applications have several advantages, in terms of unobtrusiveness and information richness. Deterministic and Stochastic Simulators for Non-Isotropic V2V-MIMO Wideband Channels

In this paper, we consider a novel two-dimensional(2D) geometry-based stochastic model(GBSM) for multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V) wideband fading channels. The proposed model employs the combination of a two-ring model and a multiple confocal ellipses model, where the signal is sum of the line-of-sight(Lo S) component, single-bounced(SB) rays, and double-bounced(DB) rays. Based on the reference model, we derive some expressions of channel statistical properties, including space-time correlation function(STCF), Doppler spectral power density(DPSD), envelope level crossing rate(LCR) and average fade duration(AFD). In addition, corresponding deterministic and stochastic simulation models are developed based on the reference model. Moreover, we compare the statistical properties of the reference model and the two simulation models in different scenarios and investigate the impact of different vehicular traffic densities(VTDs) on the channel statistical properties of the proposed model. Finally, the great agreement between simulation models and the reference model demonstrates not only the utility of simulation models, but also the correctness of theoretical derivations and simulations.

This paper proposes an algorithm implemented in a web application to find feasible route for planning in truck transportation. The logistic route planning problem has attracted a lot of effort, however, most of the earlier researches are not be directly applicable to this problem because practical logistic constraints such as the width of the road or height of the tunnel are not considered. Furthermore, drivers' basic needs in taking the time off for relaxation and lunch are involved into the delivery time computation as well. The web application has an ample amount of trials which were compared to a database of transportation in real-time. The results from a case study of Thai Adhesive and Sealant Company show a significant improvement, approximately about thirty-five percent, in forecast preciseness while the mistake rate is dropped. Moreover, this application can be applied to other industries that require feasible trucking logistics planning. © 2019 IEEE.

Next generation Vehicular Ad Hoc Network (VANET) needs seamless connectivity with high level of quality of services (QoS) and high data rates services. The complexity of VANET raises concern about the QoS and the reliability of the communication handover which refer to the connectivity and operation of conveying an ongoing call or data session between Vehicles to Vehicles (V2V) and Vehicles to Infrastructure (V2I) in VANET communication mode. This communication faces a huge challenge. The vehicles are moving so fast and highly dynamic that may cause frequent handover which may cause signal delay and communication loss. This paper provides an up-to-date literature of handover schemes for VANET over LTE-A wireless network. A discussion on thumbnail of the key decision parameters to be used in the handover algorithm and comparative summary of selected scheme for VANET over LTE-A concludes this work. This study, thus contributes to the understanding of the available options and gaps for further studies and standardization activities to this area of research. © 2018 IEEE.

With the rapid development of CPS technology, the identification and detection of malware has become a matter of concern in the industrial application of CPS. Currently, advanced machine learning methods such as deep learning are popular in the research of malware identification and detection, and some progress has been made so far. However, there are also some problems. For example, considering the existing noise or outliers in the datasets of malware, some methods are not robust enough. Therefore, the accuracy of classification of malware still needs to be improved. Aiming at it, we propose a novel method thought the combination of correntropy and deep neural network (DNN). In our proposed method for malware identification and detection, given the success of mixture correntropy as an effective similarity measure in addressing complex dataset with noise, it is therefore incorporated into a popular DNN, i.e., convolutional neural network (CNN), to reconstruct its loss function, with the purpose of further detecting the features of outliers. We present the detailed design process of our proposed method. Furthermore, the proposed method is tested both on a popular benchmark dataset and a real-world malware classification dataset, to verify its learning performance. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In FEM-based EEG and MEG source analysis, the subtraction approach has been proposed to simulate sensor measurements generated by neural activity. While this approach possesses a rigorous foundation and produces accurate results, its major downside is that it is computationally prohibitively expensive in practical applications. To overcome this, we developed a new approach, called the localized subtraction approach. This approach is designed to preserve the mathematical foundation of the subtraction approach, while also leading to sparse right-hand sides in the FEM formulation, making it efficiently computable. We achieve this by introducing a cut-off into the subtraction, restricting its influence to the immediate neighborhood of the source. In this work, this approach will be presented, analyzed, and compared to other state-of-the-art FEM right-hand side approaches. Furthermore, we discuss how to arrive at an efficient and stable implementation. We perform validation in multi-layer sphere models where analytical solutions exist. There, we demonstrate that the localized subtraction approach is vastly more efficient than the subtraction approach. Moreover, we find that for the EEG forward problem, the localized subtraction approach is less dependent on the global structure of the FEM mesh, while the subtraction approach is sensitive to the mesh structure even at a distance to the source. Additionally, we show the localized subtraction approach to rival, and in many cases even surpass, the other investigated approaches in terms of accuracy. Especially for the MEG forward problem, where Biot-Savart’s law is employed, we show the localized subtraction approach and the subtraction approach to produce highly accurate approximations of the volume currents close to the source. The localized subtraction approach thus reduces the computational cost of the subtraction approach to an extent that makes it usable in practical applications without sacrificing the rigorousness and

The paper focuses on the need for optical communication in future eras. Spatial reprocess cannot meet the present conditions with increasing traffic demand in Radio Frequency (RF) communication. The frequency spectrum in traditional methods of wireless communication has been saturated. Visible Light communication (VLC) and Internet-of-Things (IoT) integration will open up many indoor applications in the near future. Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and Photodetectors (PDs) in VLC support reliable uplink and downlink for Device-to-Device communication indoors. There is emergence of the energy-efficient variant of the VLC due to the shortage of energy budget in the upcoming era. The VLC works well in low illuminance. Energy conservation is supportedby consuming much lower energy through the usage of LEDs in *** can be achieved through the hybrid of single and multicarrier modulation. The work is about to discuss dimming techniques that support VLC in low illuminance and multicarrier modulation, which supports high data rate transmission.

Fabry-perot lasers as enablers for parallel reservoir computing

We introduce the use of Fabry-Perot (FP) lasers as potential neuromorphic computing machines with parallel processing capabilities. With the use of optical injection between a master FP laser and a slave FP laser under feedback we demonstrate the potential for scaling up the processing power at longitudinal mode granularity and perform real-time processing for signal equalization in 25 Gbaud intensity modulation direct detection optical communication systems. We demonstrate the improvement of classification performance as the number of nodes increases and the capability of simultaneous processing of arbitrary data streams. Extensive numerical simulations show that up to 8 longitudinal modes in typical Fabry-Perot lasers can be leveraged so as to enhance classification performance. Copyright © 2020, The Authors.
