An embedded audio-video synchronous coding scheme based on mode selection is proposed in the paper. In H.264, many mode types are employed to conduct inter prediction for determining the best one to achieve good coding efficiency. In the paper, the audio information is embedded into video stream by modulating the best mode in inter prediction, and then synchronous coding is applied to the mixing video and audio. The modulation is based on the cost function and mapping rules between the mode types and the audio bits. We have verified the proposed scheme based on H.264/AVC using JM 11.0 and evaluated it by four objective indicators: the video quality, the embedded cost, the change of bit-rate and the change of total encoding time. The experimental results show that this scheme has achieved synchronous coding between audio and video with small influence on the above four objective indicators.

Tone mapping is a process for reproduction of High-Dynamic-Range images (HDR) for Low-Dynamic-Range (LDR) output devices. In this report, author presents a new local tone-mapping operator, derived from the Contrast Limited Adaptive histogram Equalization (CLAHE) technique for displaying high dynamic range image. The CLAHE is a method which was originally developed for medical imaging. This method has effectively expanded the full dynamic range of display and it is fully automatic. Due to different luminance intervals could result in overlapped reaction on the limited response in limited response range of visual system, scene region splitting and merging were used to segment the scaled luminance and perform the image segmentation to segment image into smaller part. After the region splitting and merging, there will be some noise or variation of intensity that may result in holes or over segmentation. As the result, the morphological operation, opening and closing were used to perform the mask to applied different clip limit of the CLAHE operation.

Recently, malware attacks have become more serious over the Internet by e-mail, denial of service (DoS) or distributed denial of service (DDoS). The Botnets have become a significant part of the Internet malware attacks. The traditional botnets include three parts - botmaster, command and control (C&C) servers and bots. The C&C servers receive commands from botmaster and control the distributions of computers remotely. Bots use DNS to find the positions of C&C server. In this paper, we propose an advanced hybrid peer-to-peer (P2P) botnet 2.0 (AHP2P botnet 2.0) using web 2.0 technology to hide the instructions from botmaster into social sites, which are regarded as C&C servers. Servent bots are regarded as sub-C&C servers to get the instructions from social sites. The AHP2P botnet 2.0 can evaluate the performance of servent bots, reduce DNS traffics from bots to C&C servers, and achieve harder detection bots actions than IRC-based botnets over the Internet.

In order to increase the coding efficiency of H.264/AVC, this paper proposed a parallelized approach of full search (FS) algorithm for motion estimation on Graphic Processor Unit (GPU) using computing unified device architecture (CUDA). By utilizing the independence among different MBs, we are able to take the full advantage of the computational power of CUDA and speed up the FS motion estimation by a large scale. Experimental results show that our implementation on CUDA can be as much as 50 times faster than existing CPU implementations.

Reducing our power consumption is an urgent issue which has important economical and ecological benefits. By using femtocell technology the mobile network can become far more energy efficient than it is today. In this paper, we describe what femtocell technology is and introduce outdoor femtocell distribution strategies that can save the network power. We also compare the usage of typical short-range base stations in place of femtocells and show that femtocells are more efficient. The results of the introduced strategies show that significant power savings of up to 92% can be achieved on a per-macrocell basis if implemented.

This paper presents a new speed controller based on the theory of adaptive fuzzy inference system based on neural (ANFIS) for a direct torque to twelve sectors controlled of the induction motor. The proposed controller integrates fuzzy logic algorithm with a structure of artificial neural network (ANN) five-layer in order to reap the benefits of both methods, the learning abilities of the first and readability and flexibility of the second. The controller replaces the conventional PI is the rule fuzzy inference system with the hybrid learning algorithm. This makes learning the fuzzy system. The performance of the proposed neuro-fuzzy control for induction motor speed was studied at different operating conditions. The simulation study shows the robustness and relevance of control for applications in high performance driving.
