Wireless Sensor Networks for Rainfall Monitoring (RM-WSNs) is a sensor network for the large-scale regional and moving rainfall monitoring,which could be controlled deployment. Delivery delay and cross-cluster calculation leads to information inaccuracy by the existing dynamic collabo-rative self-organization algorithm in WSNs. In this letter,a Local Dynamic Cluster Self-organization algorithm (LDCS) is proposed for the large-scale regional and moving target monitoring in RM-WSNs. The algorithm utilizes the resource-rich node in WSNs as the cluster head,which processes target information obtained by sensor nodes in cluster. The cluster head shifts with the target moving in chance and re-groups a new cluster. The target information acquisition is limited in the dynamic cluster,which can reduce information across-clusters transfer delay and improve the real-time of information acquisition. The simulation results show that,LDCS can not only relieve the problem of "too frequent leader switches" in IDSQ,also make full use of the history monitoring information of target and con-tinuous monitoring of sensor nodes that failed in DCS.

Along with the explosive growth of the Internet, the demand for efficient and secure Internet Infrastructure has been increasing. For the entire chain of Internet connectivity the Domain Name system (DNS) provides name to address mapping services. Hackers exploit this fact to damage different parts of Internet. This paper focuses on Denial of Service (DoS) attacks as the major security issue during recent years. The process of detection and classification of DoS against DNS has been presented in two phases in our model. The proposed system architecture consists of a statistical pre-processor and a machine learning engine. Three different types of neural network classifiers and support vector machines are evaluated as the engine in a simulated network. The performance of our system was measured in terms of detection rate, accuracy, and false alarm rate. The results indicated that a back propagation neural network provides a 99% accuracy and an acceptable false alarm rate of 0.28% comparing to other types of classifiers.

Musical transcription of heart sound is a new idea to provide a textual biomedical database. Textual database allows applying several indexing and searching techniques in order to monitor patient behavior for a long duration. MIDI commands produce a semi-structural musical file format which enables to apply various applications. Main objective of this paper is the extraction of fundamental frequency of the given heart sound which is recorded with an electrical stethoscope. Based on extracted fundamental frequencies, the logarithmical relationship of pitch numbers will be estimated. Generally the captured heart sound includes several types of noises such as other organs sound and ambient voice. Hence, filtering of the heart sound is indispensable. Thus, three levels of preparation techniques which are wavelet transform, frequency limitation, and amplitude reconstruction will be applied on the heart sound sequentially. Cooperative diversity techniques make a reduction in spectral efficiency despite of an increase in reliability. In this paper we propose a novel relaying protocol in a cooperative network with decode and forward (DF) relays to improve the spectral efficiency in addition to achieving full diversity order (maximum available reliability). The proposed protocol keeps the transmission rate fixed to the rate of point-to-point transmission and outperforms rather than conventional relaying protocols such as fixed, selection and incremental relaying protocols. The simulation results show the effectiveness of our method and confirm our claim.

The paper describes a joint university-industry project aimed at defining hardware and software requirements for the development of a prototypical microgrid platform on existing sites able to manage generation resources and load. The paper describes an architecture developed for integrating existing software tools for on-line load monitoring and control and for management of in-site generation. The system acquires data from field and stores information on a server, from which an optimization tool gets data in order to perform its calculations and give the optimal set points to the programmable generation resources. Results are reported about experimentation at test sites with different generating units, such as cogeneration of heat and power (CHP) and/or renewable power generating units equipped with a real-time monitoring tool.

Irrigation water management has significant economic implications in developing countries like Malaysia. As in many countries, Malaysia is also espousing internet as a platform of new possibilities for information access and sharing. Thus web based decision tools are pertinent in managing water, which is becoming a source of conflict between domestic, industry and agricultural use in this emerging technological and information age. Decision Support system (DSS) created in the past was theoretically acceptable but practically not effective in the transfer of scientific knowledge from research labs to the end-users to support them in decision making. The Web Based Paddy Irrigation Productivity Assessment (WebPIPA) is an example of DSS created to provide an effective conduit for the transfer of scientific knowledge from research labs to the end-users to support them in decision making. WebPIPA serves as an innovative, user friendly and efficient management tool for run-of-river rice irrigation system. It is a web based program that requires users to login through user name and password WebPIPA is developed using Net framework and ASP. Net Programming Languages of Microsoft. Net 2003 environment. A 3-tier architecture framework was carefully studied and was implemented to create the WebP1PA model. Mathematical model developed for aiding irrigation decisions must be oriented towards addressing various issues in addition to the scientific ones for better acceptability.
