Nowadays P2P applications dominate many networks. However, despite of their diffusion, the analysis of tele- traffic generated by these applications in real-time environment remains an open issue. In this paper we look at analytical and simulation models, which can be used for quantifying volumes of P2P teletraffic at the network layer, to ease still existing difficulties associated with monitoring such teletraffic. We present an event-driven simulator, able to simulate P2P teletraffic both at the application and network layers in large overlay networks (we have successfully tested it in networks used by up to 500,000 peers). The simulation model was developed for studying the impact that P2P systems have on the network layer performance. We studied also the application layer dynamics by looking at time evolution of file-downloading processes and at the offered load generated in such networks. We report the results of several simulation scenarios, in which we focused on the consequences such teletraffic has on the Internet access link of an enterprise network.

In this paper, we propose a algorithm which can extract traffic information from the images automatically. The main purpose lies in utilizing existing traffic photography equipment, cooperating with this system to get vehicle numbers and vehicle speed information. During the process of extracting traffic information, we utilize the traffic image sequence input from camera. By analyzing the pixels' difference between consecutive Image frames, we can get the moving object's characteristics and count the quantity of the passing vehicles.

This work describes an analysis of ground penetrating radar (GPR) measurements at frequency range of 1.7-2.6 GHz to get a relationship between attenuation and density for nine road pavements slabs with different densities. There are about two different frequencies had been tried. The method is simple, fast, contact less and accurate way to determine the density of road pavement. The most important parameter that used in this project is density where it can be used to determine the compressive strength of road pavement. In laboratory, the measurement system consists of a signal generator (250 kHz-3 GHz) as a source, spectrum analyzer (100 Hz-8 GHz), directional coupler with adapter and horn antenna. The first part of the measurement system setup is to determine the amplitude of transmitted wave (received signal strength). A few of received signal strength and attenuation for nine pavement slab samples were taken at two different frequencies. The GPR mixture model has been used to produce the simulation data and has been compared with measurement data. An instantaneous method for measuring the density of road pavement in wave propagation was developed by using microwave transmission/ reflection technique and free space method at two frequencies. The MATLAB software is used to analyze the measurement and simulation data and also for the graphs comparisons. The relative error between measurement and simulation were calculated. The results from the GPR measurement were used and were elaborated in data statistical analysis.

In the future, Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET)s are expected to be deployed in myriads of scenarios having complex node mobility and connectivity dynamics. Unfortunately, these complex movement scenarios give a tough challenge to the MANET routing protocol. We reviewed some mobility models that have different mobility characteristic, and also studied the effect of these mobility models towards the performance of geographical-based route maintenance strategy in the Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) protocol.

Image segmentation is one of the most important parts of clinical diagnostic tools. Medical images mostly contain noise and in homogeneity. Therefore, accurate segmentation of medical images is a very difficult task. However, the process of accurate segmentation of these images is very important and crucial for a correct diagnosis by clinical tools. In this paper a new method is proposed which is robust against in-homogeneousness and noisiness of images. The user selects training data for each target class. Noise is reduced in image using Stationary wavelet Transform (SWT) then FCM clusters input image to the n clusters where n is the number of target classes. User selects some of the clusters to be partitioned again. FCM clusters each user selected cluster to two sub clusters. This process continues until user to be satisfied. Each cluster is considered as a sub-class. Posterior probability of data to each sub class is calculated using data in those sub-classes. Probability density of each target class at sub classes is calculated using training data. Probability of data to each target class is calculated using probability density of each subclass at input data and probability of each subclass to each target class. At last, the image is clustered using probability of data to each target class. Segmentation of several simulated and real images are demonstrated to show the effectiveness of the new method.

This paper presents an optimization of GPR mixture model based on the measurements and simulation results at frequency range of 1.7-2.6 GHz. The purpose is to get a most accurate relationship between attenuation and density for various road pavements densities. The proposed method is simple, fast, nondestructive and accurate way to determine the density of road pavement. Density is a one of the important parameter in order to determine the compressive strength of road pavement. In laboratory, a few of received signal strength and measured attenuation for nine road pavement slab samples were taken at four different frequencies. The GPR mixture model has been used to produce the predicted attenuation due to the pavement density. The calculation and selection of mixture model has been discussed thoroughly and only the best performance of GPR mixture model was selected for optimization.

Integrens are transmembrane glycoproteins made of non-covalently bonded alpha and beta chains involved in fundamental biological processes such as cell growth, tissue development and wound repair. The expression of proper cell surface receptors plays a pivotal role to promote such phenomena. To this regard the possibility to investigate cell membrane at the single molecule level is of high potential in the field of cell biology and tissue engineering to gain insights into molecular mechanisms governing cell functions and tissue regeneration. In this work functionalized Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) probes have been successfully developed and tested for the detection of integrins expressed on the surface of a line of osteosarcoma-derived osteoblasts named MG-63. The obtained results demonstrate the high potential of the AFM technique for the investigation of cell surface functional molecules at the nanoscale.

In this paper, we are proposing a detection scheme known as spectral direct detection technique implemented with fiber bragg grating (FBG) act as encoder/decoder. This FBG based is used to encode and decode the spectral amplitude coding namely modified double weight (MDW) code in optical code division multiple access (OCDMA). This code is used due to its flexibility where its weight can be any even number that greater than two. Moreover, it can maintain the cross-correlation parameter equal to one. The performance of spectral direct detection technique against AND-subtraction technique which is both implemented with FBG based encoder/decoder is compared via simulation in downstream and upstream access network at point to multipoint (P2MP) configuration. The simulation will be carried out using Optisystem version 6.0 and the performance is characterized through bit error rate (BER) and power received at various bit rate.

The RFID system is a contactless automatic identification system that identifies tags attached on goods through radio frequency communication. This system is expected to supplant barcode systems, the contact reading technique that is most widely used at present. The RFID system can be applied in a variety of areas. Among those, Ari Juels proposed an environment to prove that a pair of tags has been scanned simultaneously. And he presented a "yoking proof" protocol for this. But the yoking-proof protocol is vulnerable to replay attack. Although modified yoking-proof protocols for alleviating this drawback have been proposed, they are not immune to replay attack, either. In this paper, we analyze problems of existing yoking-proof protocols and present a new protocol, which will make replay attack difficult, based on this analysis. We have also extend this protocol so that it can provide yoking proofs for a tag group, including a multiple number of tags.

An embedded multiprocessor FPGA system can provide powerful and more functionalities than single processor system. However, the hardware-software partitioning problem is more complex in system design because the system components become escalation. In this paper, we propose a sophisticated computation method (SCM) to solve hardware-software partitioning issues for embedded multiprocessor FPGA systems. The SCM consists of two levels partition which includes processors-fit level and multi-fit level constraints. In processors-fit level, the partitioning results of unsatisfying processor constraint can be rapidly eliminated. Next, multi-fit level constraints compute various system constraints that based on divide-and-conquer and exhaust methods. Experimental results show that our proposed method can rapidly obtain better partitioning results.
