In this paper, an evaluation of the network routing algorithms is made. Problems that arise in routing are treated, each presented in different scenarios in order to obtain a result in comparing different topologies. The comparison analysis is pursuing obtaining a result over the performance of the, network. In order to measure performance, the costs of a network and the delays are aimed. After that, the topology effect is presented. In matter of performance, topology and blocking problems are strongly related. So an analysis of the blocking probability is also presented. As conclusions, solutions for the presented scenarios and also for other important scenarios are given. In all these algorithms the time problem was not yet consider until now, so the average execution time is finally analyzed.

In this paper, a new method is proposed for load balancing in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs). WMNs that consist of static wireless routers, some of which, called gateways, are directly connected to the wired infrastructure. This policy is based on Ant-Net method with movable factors having operation similar to ant. The main point considered in this proposed method is capability of breeding of ants. This capability is continuation of route that is produced by the parent ants. By this capability, the target is to find an optimized route by creating a number of generations. In addition, it uses various generations, in a type of genetic algorithm to find optimized route. This can provide the required route with special goals. This method is able to prevent some of the difficulties which have not been seen in the colony algorithms of ants. The results show that, this new proposed method shows better operation in comparison to Ant-Net and other related methods. Also it can significantly increase the throughput and reduce the rate of delay in the network.

The theory is being elaborated and the simulation results have been done by comparing AND subtraction technique against Complementary subtraction technique by using DW code. The result shows that the OSNR for AND subtraction technique give 39.5 dB at 10 km, while Complementary technique is only 24.5 dB. In this paper we have proved that AND subtraction technique gives better optical signal to noise ratio (OSNR) performance due to reduce the multiple access interference (MAI) compared to the Complementary subtraction technique.

Previous noninvasive measurements of the pulse waveform of the radial artery have not employed standard positioning procedures. Here we propose a new three-axis mechanism for simultaneously measuring the arterial diameter changed waveform (ADCW) and the pressure pulse waveform (PPW), and a standard positioning procedure for detecting the optimal site in which the PPW may be accurately recorded. A modified fuzzy c-mean algorithm was used to diagnosis myocardial ischemia symptoms in 34 elderly subjects with the PPW of radial artery. The exercise electrocardiogram was used as a reference to compare between individuals with and without myocardial ischemia. The first three harmonics of the Fourier series of PPW in the patients with myocardial ischemia are significantly different from those in the normal subjects. The harmonics of the Fourier series of PPW are then fed into a modified fuzzy c-means algorithm, resulting in a sensitivity of 68% and specificity of 100% in identifying the patients with myocardial ischemia from the normal subjects.

Face annotation for personal photos has a number of potential applications in Multimedia Information Retrieval (MIR). We propose a novel face annotation method that systematically combines contextual information of photos with traditional Face Recognition (FR) technologies. To overcome the limitations of conventional FR-based annotation approaches, situation and person clustering methods are proposed based on context of personal photos. By relying on the proposed clustering methods, multiple facial images that belong to the same person are applied to subspace FR methods. This allows traditional FR methods to take advantages of feature- or measurement-level fusion strategies for automatic annotation of faces on personal photos. The effectiveness of the proposed method was successfully tested on 1,120 personal photos selected from standard MPEG-7 Visual Core Experiment 3 (VCE-3). Extensive experimental results showed that the proposed method improves annotation accuracy by at least an order of magnitude, compared with conventional FR-based approaches. Copyright 2008 ACM.

This paper proposes an agent-based simulation model to analyze how team management affects performances of the team with three fundamental parameters: team size, skill combination among team members and task structure. The results confirmed are as follows: first, communication cost increases when the team size grows, and team-workers benefit from a right team size to obtain higher productivity;second, each team member has more chances to receive tasks that he/she is good at and then strengthen this skill ability by accumulative experience;third, a team shows more efficiency and robustness under a task environment where both workload and sub-task variety get to a balanceable distribution in a long term.
