Q-TEC: A Highly Secured Trapdoor Encryption Scheme for User Authentication in Content-Based Image Retrieval Systems in Cloud

Content-Based Image Retrieval systems play a critical role in the management of vast image databases, which necessitates secure user authentication and data protection when stored in cloud. Considering the shift in security issues, advanced encryption techniques are generally required. Therefore, an innovative Quantum-Resistant Trapdoor Encryption for Secure Session-Based CBIR (Q-TEC) system is proposed here. The user interface incorporates robust input validation and salting to prevent unauthorized code execution and hash collisions, respectively. Communication channel security is enhanced with TLS 1.3, PFS, and ECDH key exchange. The encryption and key management system is double-staged with Argon2 and RC4 passwords. Crystals-Kyber is used to manage the keys. Encoding indexing and access control are achieved with DBF and zk-SNARK. Secure query execution is accomplished with SMPC and homomorphic encryption with CKKS. Overall, compared to conventional methods, the proposed solution supports a high degree of security and performance, offering reasonable encryption and decryption times and reduced storage requirements. ©2025 The authors.

Predicting Employee Attrition: A Comparative Analysis of Machine Learning Models Using the IBM Human Resource Analytics dataset

In employee turnover research and workforce management, addressing the impacts of suboptimal employee performance is crucial for organizations of all sizes and industries. Utilizing advanced machine learning classification models to predict potential employee resignations can enhance human resource departments’ intervention strategies, effectively mitigating attrition challenges. This research investigates the performance of various machine learning algorithms in classification tasks, focusing on their accuracy in predicting outcomes from a given dataset. Five models were evaluated: Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Decision Tree, Gradient Boosting, and a Hybrid Model that integrates multiple algorithms. The goal was to identify which model yields the highest accuracy and to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each approach. Results showed that the Hybrid Model achieved the highest accuracy at 95.0%, suggesting that combining different algorithms effectively harnesses their strengths while mitigating individual weaknesses. The SVM accurately classified the instance with 88.6%, demonstrating its capability to manage complex decision boundaries in high-dimensional spaces. Both Random Forest and Gradient Boosting attained an accuracy of 87.3%, reflecting their ensemble techniques that enhance predictive performance by reducing overfitting and optimizing error reduction. In comparison, the Decision Tree classifier exhibited the least accuracy at 80.5%, highlighting its susceptibility to overfitting and limited generalizability. The superior performance of the Hybrid Model indicates a promising direction for future research, where integrating diverse algorithms could lead to more robust predictions. Overall, this study provides valuable insights for practitioners and researchers seeking to optimize model selection and improve predictive accuracy in their domains.

Advanced identity mechanisms are essential for secure client-identifiable proof in the unambiguously computerized world. Because the board frameworks rely on aggregated databases, fraud, data breaches, and unauthorized access are significant security risks. By providing a decentralized, immutable structure, blockchain technology advances security and protection. Through Self-Sovereign Identity, blockchain gives people authority over their own data. While also improving confirmation and check mechanisms. The potential of blockchain-based Identity, this article examines the board frameworks, focusing on five essential components: authentication, privacy, trust, integrity, and simplicity. It examines how interoperability, flexibility, and collaboration with outdated frameworks prevent decentralized IDMS being more widely used. The study also covers customer satisfaction, legal concerns, and potential future developments, such as Web 3.0, security enhancements, and integration with decentralized money. By addressing these problems and looking into new possibilities, blockchain-based IDMS may be able to reform advanced identity across the entire board. © 2025 IEEE.

The pandemic creates a more complicated providence of medical assistance and diagnosis procedures. In the world, Covid-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS Cov-2), and plague are widely known pandemic disease desperations. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic tragedies, various medical diagnosis models and intelligent computing solutions are proposed for medical applications. In this era of computer-based medical environment, conventional clinical solutions are surpassed by many Machine Learning and Deep Learning-based COVID-19 diagnosis models. Anyhow, many existing models are developing lab-based diagnosis environments. Notably, the Gated Recurrent Unit-based Respiratory data Analysis (GRU-RE), Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Covid data Analysis (Thermal Images) (I-UVAC), and Convolutional Neural Network-based computer Tomography Image Analysis (CNN-CT) are enriched with lightweight image data analysis techniques for obtaining mass pandemic data at real-time conditions. However, the existing models directly deal with bulk images (thermal data and respiratory data) to diagnose the symptoms of COVID-19. Against these works, the proposed spectacle thermal image data analysis model creates an easy and effective way of disease diagnosis deployment strategies. Particularly, the mass detection of disease symptoms needs a more lightweight equipment setup. In this proposed model, each patient's thermal data is collected via the spectacles of medical staff, and the data are analyzed with the help of a complex set of capsule network functions. Comparatively, the conventional capsule network functions are enriched in this proposed model using adequate sampling and data reduction solutions. In this way, the proposed model works effectively for mass thermal data diagnosis applications. Multiview fuzzy clustering (MVFC) has gained widespread adoption owing to its inherent flexibility in handling ambiguous data. The proliferation of privatization devices has driven the emergence of new challenge in MVFC research works. Federated learning, a technique that can jointly train without directly using raw data, has gain significant attention in decentralized MVFC. However, their applicability depends on the assumptions of data integrity and independence between different views. In fact, while within distributed environments, data typically exhibits two challenging problems: 1) multiple views within a single client;2) incomplete data. Existing methods exhibit limitations in effectively addressing these challenges. Hence, in this study, we aim at achieving the effective clustering for incomplete data by a novel vertical federated MVFC framework. Specifically, a unified clustering framework is designed to capture both local client learning and global server training. For the local client learning, the data reconstruction strategy and prototype alignment strategy are introduced to ensure the preservation of data structure and refinement of clustering relationships, which mitigates the impact of incomplete data. Meanwhile, the global training process implements aggregation based on client-specific information. The whole process is realized based on the unified fuzzy clustering framework, promoting collaborative learning between client-specific and server information. Theoretical analyses and extensive experiments are carefully conducted to validate the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method from multiple perspectives. © 1993-2012 IEEE.

There is a growing need for diverse, high-quality stuttered speech data, particularly in the context of Indian languages. This paper introduces Project Boli, a multi-lingual stuttered speech dataset designed to advance scientific understanding and technology development for individuals who stutter, particularly in India. The dataset constitutes (a) anonymized metadata (gender, age, country, mother tongue) and responses to a questionnaire about how stuttering affects their daily lives, (b) captures both read speech (using the Rainbow Passage) and spontaneous speech (through image description tasks) for each participant and (c) includes detailed annotations of five stutter types: blocks, prolongations, interjections, sound repetitions and word repetitions. We present a comprehensive analysis of the dataset, including the data collection procedure, experience summarization of people who stutter, severity assessment of stuttering events and technical validation of the collected data. The dataset is released as an open access to further speech technology development. © 2025 IEEE.

Over the past few decades, mortality rates associated with air quality pollution have risen in numerous countries around the globe. This pollution stems from different factors such as meteorological conditions, human activities from urban industrialization, vehicular emission, and so on. Air pollution constituents such as NO2, CO, SO, and coarse and fine particulate matter for different locations have been analyzed to learn both correlation and inter-dependency for long and short terms. However, many of these studies overlook datasets collected using low-cost tools and equipment. Most of the time, datasets of this nature are marred with inconsistencies and gaps at irregular intervals. This may render the air pollutant data unsuitable. In order to test the suitability of machine learning algorithms on such dataset, this study conducts a time-series forecast analysis using the prophet algorithm. Genetic programming hyperheuristic (GPHH) has recently become a promising methodology for large-scale dynamic path planning (LDPP) since it can produce reusable heuristics rather than disposable solutions. However, in this methodology, the extracted local and decentralized heuristic for agents that lack a global systemic view sometimes may be problematic. Therefore, a new challenge is to strike a balance between conciseness to improve generalization ability and incorporation of more global information to obtain better performance. In this work, we target the LDPP problem and propose a communication learning mechanism (ComLGP) for GPHH to address the above difficulties. In ComLGP, a communication function is introduced to serve as a communication protocol and exist in the form of an extra terminal in GPHH. Compared to the classic terminals which are fixed in genetic programing, this communication function undergoes optimization along with the evolutionary process of GPHH. In this way, the communication function can be learned which enables agents to communicate without a predefined communication protocol. Then, a caching and lazy updating mechanism for ComLGP is presented to accelerate the calculation of communication content. Last, we verified our method on 22 scenarios including two real world road networks. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed ComLGP can successfully learn to communicate. Although in the absence of any manually designed communication features, ComLGP is capable of achieving performance competitive to the state-of-the-art method that employs a predefined communication protocol and outperforms the remaining compared methods in most scenarios. © 2020 IEEE.

A societal problem that is present today is the spread of misinformation in social media, which is difficult to tackle as it can affect individuals as well as the entire society. Curbing this problem is critical in preserving the trust on the platforms. This study proposes a new method of hybrid classification for fake news detection using BERT for feature extraction. Our approach consists of data cleaning, text encoding using BERT, and classification by hard voting ensemble, where the notion of fake news is opposed to real news. Textual features are voted by the classifiers and assigned to the voting classifier that obtains the textual features from all classifiers and makes the decision based on them. Our model is tested on two datasets: the Fake-or-Real News dataset and BuzzFeed News dataset to determine how these models compare to pre-existing models. Our approach brings about an impressive 89.8 % accuracy on the Fake-or-Real-News dataset, and as for the BuzzFeed site, it brings about 72 % accuracy. These results help prove the effectiveness of the classifiers. With an increase in accuracy of fake news detection, there will also be an increase in the reliability of social media information.

Language disparities have always existed in human civilization. In their community, deaf individuals use sign languages to communicate with one another, but it can be difficult to do so when interacting with the wider population. The project comprises a real-time sign language recognition system that enables hearing-impaired individuals and persons who do not know sign language to effortlessly communicate. The most used sign language in South Asian nations is Indian sign language. Convolution neural networks, specifically Tensor Flow object detection, are utilized to assess and train the model on the images that are used. The transfer training approach is used to train the deep learning model with various hand movements.
