The detection of image forgeries is a crucial area of study within the discipline of digital image analysis, with the objective of identifying and accurately determining the location of modified regions inside images. The importance of developing strong and dependable forgery detection methods has grown increasingly significant due to the widespread availability of advanced image editing tools and the growing complexity of forgery techniques. This survey paper presents a thorough examination of the comprehensive classification of methods used for detecting image forgeries. The paper considers various factors, including the type of forgery, the detection methodology applied, the evaluation metrics used for performance analysis, and the datasets utilized. The primary objective of this paper is to stimulate further progress in the field by offering valuable insights and up-to-date information on contemporary techniques in forgery detection to researchers in the field. © 2023 IEEE.

The proliferation of cloud-based storage solutions has accentuated the need for robust security mechanisms. This research delved into enhancing cloud storage security by intertwining advanced client-side encryption with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). Empirical evaluations revealed the encryption's consistent ability to produce unique ciphertexts for data, ensuring heightened confidentiality and resilience against unauthorized decryption. Concurrently, RBAC streamlined access controls, dynamically grouping users into predefined roles with associated permissions. Furthermore, our deduplication tests underscored the system's prowess in optimizing storage, significantly reducing redundancy while preserving data integrity. The RBAC system's performance metrics, even under varying loads, confirmed its scalability and efficiency. While the proposed blend of encryption and RBAC demonstrated substantial advancements in ensuring data security and storage efficiency, the results also hint at potential avenues for future refinement and research in the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape. © 2023 IEEE.

Recent geometric-based approaches have been shown to efficiently model complex logical queries (including the intersection operation) over Knowledge Graphs based on the natural representation of Venn diagram. Existing geometric-based models (using points, boxes embeddings), however, cannot handle the logical negation operation. Further, those using cones embeddings are limited to representing queries by two-dimensional shapes, which reduced their effectiveness in capturing entities query relations for correct answers. To overcome this challenge, we propose unbounded cylinder embeddings (namely CylE), which is a novel geometric-based model based on three-dimensional shapes. Our approach can handle a complete set of basic first-order logic operations (conjunctions, disjunctions and negations). CylE considers queries as Cartesian products of unbounded sector-cylinders and consider a set of nearest boxes corresponds to the set of answer entities. Precisely, the conjunctions can be represented via the intersections of unbounded sector-cylinders. Transforming queries to Disjunctive Normal Form can handle queries with disjunctions. The negations can be represented by considering the closure of complement for an arbitrary unbounded sector-cylinder. Empirical results show that the performance of multi-hop reasoning task using CylE significantly increases over state-of-the-art geometric-based query embedding models for queries without negation. For queries with negation operations, though the performance is on a par with the best performing geometric-based model, CylE significantly outperforms a recent distribution-based model. © 2023 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) plays a crucial role in analysing and understanding individual's emotions in the form of non-verbal communication. Existing Deep Learning (DL) based FER methods offered diverse contribution in analysing human emotions but several challenges like extracting accurate spatial and temporal features for accurate classification of emotions is a major concern. To address this, a DL based Facial Recognition and Emotion Detection (FRED) system is proposed by using extended Cohn-Kanade (CK+) dataset as the input. The data is pre-processed first where the Histogram Equalization (HE) is applied and then Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is used to extract the spatial features while reducing the dimensionality. The extracted features are given to Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) to learn long term dependencies from a temporal sequence of data. The final classification is performed where the Attention Mechanism (AM) is integrated in the RNN to determine the higher weights for better outcome. The results of proposed AMConVnet-RNN showed a superior classification accuracy of 99.54%, precision of 98.63%, and f1-score of 97.39% when compared to existing FER methods like Residual Network-50 (ResNet-50) and Channel Based Attention Mechanism (CBAM) based ResNet50. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, there has been a significant rise in the phenomenon of hate against women on social media platforms, particularly through the use of misogynous memes. These memes often target women with subtle and obscure cues, making their detection a challenging task for automated systems. Recently, Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown promising results in reasoning using Chain-of-Thought (CoT) prompting to generate the intermediate reasoning chains as the rationale to facilitate multimodal tasks, but often neglect cultural diversity and key aspects like emotion and contextual knowledge hidden in the visual modalities. To address this gap, we introduce a Multimodal Multi-hop CoT (M3Hop-CoT) framework for Misogynous meme identification, combining a CLIP-based classifier and a multimodal CoT module with entity-object-relationship integration. M3Hop-CoT employs a three-step multimodal prompting principle to induce emotions, target awareness, and contextual knowledge for meme analysis. Our empirical evaluation, including both qualitative and quantitative analysis, validates the efficacy of the M3HopCoT framework on the SemEval-2022 Task 5 (MAMI task) dataset, highlighting its strong performance in the macro-F1 score. Furthermore, we evaluate the model's generalizability by evaluating it on various benchmark meme datasets, offering a thorough insight into the effectiveness of our approach across different datasets. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

In morphologically rich languages, words consist of morphemes containing deeper information in morphology, and thus such languages may necessitate the use of morpheme-level representations as well as word representations. This study introduces a neural multilingual end-to-end coreference resolution system by incorporating morphological information in transformer-based word embeddings on the baseline model. This proposed model participated in the Sixth Workshop on Computational Models of Reference, Anaphora and Coreference (CRAC 2023). Including morphological information explicitly into the coreference resolution improves the performance, especially in morphologically rich languages (e.g., Catalan, Hungarian, and Turkish). The introduced model outperforms the baseline system by 2.57 percentage points on average by obtaining 59.53% CoNLL F-score. © CRAC 2023. All Rights Reserved.

Power electronics plays a pivotal role in modern energy systems, contributing to improved efficiency, reduced emissions, and enhanced control in various applications such as renewable energy integration, electric vehicles, and smart grids. This vital domain within electrical engineering, has undergone a remarkable transformation through the integration of Machine Learning, as the power electronics industry has witnessed significant advancements in optimizing operations, improving reliability, and enabling sustainable energy solutions. This research paper presents various strategies of Machine learning used in power electronics. It focuses on using Machine Learning based models to examine and train various voltage and current record units obtained by simulated malfunctioning transmission line model created with Matlab /Simulink. This yielded a dataset consisting of 12,001 fault data samples. Machine Learning models SVM, KNN and Decision Tree were trained on the same data and were employed to detect the faults. Next, the model was chosen for its strong fault detection capabilities and potential, which were evaluated based on accuracy, precision, and the F1- score. Effective fault detection techniques play a crucial role in optimizing power system control, reducing energy wastage, and ensuring top-notch performance. © 2023 IEEE.

As Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems grow more complex, ensuring real-time security has become a major challenge. Traditional security approaches are insufficient for handling dynamic and interconnected IoT networks, which are increasingly targeted by sophisticated cyber-attacks. To address these issues, new methodologies that combine real-time monitoring and adaptive security mechanisms are needed. Cyber Twin technology, an innovative extension of digital twin technology, presents a promising solution by creating AI-driven digital replicas of IoT devices and software systems for continuous security monitoring and management. This paper introduces a Cyber Twin Technology Framework for AI-driven real-time software security in IoT ecosystems. The framework employs advanced AI models, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) for anomaly detection and Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for synthetic data generation to simulate potential attack scenarios. A dynamic reinforcement learning module is integrated to optimize threat response strategies based on evolving threat patterns. By creating real-time digital replicas of IoT components, the Cyber Twin framework continuously monitors device behaviors, identifies anomalies, and autonomously initiates mitigation actions. The system is evaluated in a simulated IoT environment with over 500 interconnected devices. Experimental results demonstrate that the Cyber Twin framework achieved a 99.2% detection accuracy in identifying cyber threats, with a false positive rate of 1.3%. The dynamic response module reduced incident response time by 35% compared to traditional methods, enhancing the system's ability to neutralize potential threats in real-time. The use of GAN-based synthetic data also enabled proactive defense strategies, reducing attack success rates by 40% during testing.
