HIV is a serious disease that impairs immunity. Without treatment, the infection may progress through three stages, which might drastically shorten a person's life. Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are utilized to detect the HIV infection and even to find treatments for it. The AIDS viral infection is predicted in this review. The aim of ANN is to precisely classify patients according to whether or not they have HIV/AIDS. We have formed a custom ANN model and applied it to the Kaggle dataset that is accessible to the public, compared which optimizers offer the best accuracy and whether employing dropouts yields improved accuracy. With Gradient Descent, we achieved the maximum accuracy of 86.92% it is also one of the most commonly used optimizers due to its simplicity and effectiveness, followed by SGD with 86.45% it is a variation of gradient descent in which a random subset of data as opposed to the complete dataset is used to update the parameter and RMSprop with 86.21% uses the average of recent gradient magnitudes to modify the learning rate for each parameter. This aids with training stabilization, particularly when dealing with sparse or noisy data. The accuracy increased to 87.62% after we introduced dropouts to the hidden layer with optimizer as gradient descent, which produced the best results. Loss vs. Accuracy graphs and ROC curve have been plotted. With dropouts, the custom ANN model performed even better on the Gradient Descent optimizer. © 2025 IEEE.

Growing demands for customized, sustainable, and high-performance infrastructure urgently require innovative construction methodologies. Conventional methods for fiber-reinforced polymer concrete are not efficient in material usage, are inconsistent in their mechanical properties, and fail to satisfy the complex structural demands. The current methods of 3D printing are often affected by delamination of layers, bad alignment of fibers, and relatively high rates of defects, which adversely affect the structural integrity and efficiency of the printed components. To address these challenges, we propose a novel multi-method framework utilizing advance additive manufacturing techniques for 3D printed fiber-reinforced polymer concrete. Our research introduces four additional mechanisms: GCMME (Gradient-Controlled Deposition via Multi-Material Extrusion) for smooth material transitions with functional graded properties, DFAM (Directional Fiber Alignment Mechanism) for optimal reinforcement along stress trajectories, ARCS (Adaptive Rheology Control System) for viscosity modulation and self-healing capabilities, and AQA-PDM (AI-Based Quality Assurance and Predictive Defect Mitigation) for real-time defect detection and quality control. All the above-mentioned mechanisms can be used simultaneously to allow for the mass production of customised structural parts with outstanding mechanical properties. Significant results include tensile strength greater than 12 MPa, compressive strength greater than 50 MPa, enhanced flexural strength by about 35%, and the defects density of less than 0.5%. The material wastage is minimized by up to 25%. Moreover, self-healing efficiency in closure is more than 60% as well. This integrated method significantly enhances performance, accuracy, and sustainability in modular construction and thus provides a transforming solution for the infrastructure development process. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 20

The recently-proposed framework of Predict+Optimize tackles optimization problems with parameters that are unknown at solving time, in a supervised learning setting. Prior frameworks consider only the scenario where all unknown parameters are (eventually) revealed at the same time. In this work, we propose Multi-Stage Predict+Optimize, a novel extension catering to applications where unknown parameters are instead revealed in sequential stages, with optimization decisions made in between. We further develop three training algorithms for neural networks (NNs) for our framework as proof of concept, all of which can handle mixed integer linear programs. The first baseline algorithm is a natural extension of prior work, training a single NN which makes a single prediction of unknown parameters. The second and third algorithms instead leverage the possibility of updating parameter predictions between stages, and trains one NN per stage. To handle the interdependency between the NNs, we adopt a sequential and parallelized versions of coordinate descent for training. Experimentation on three benchmarks demonstrates the superior learning performance of our methods over classical approaches. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Deep learning (DL), an evolving technology, allows computers to learn autonomously from historical data. Furthermore, it employs a number of methodologies to generate the precise models and create predictions based on facts or old data. A deep learning system produces the predictions based on mathematical models of prediction which is built from past information once it gets new information. Nowadays, the use of deep learning in medical systems is crucial in various applications such as recognition, segmentation, and classification. Worldwide, lung illness is a prevalent occurrence in human beings which includes Covid-19, pneumonia, emphysema, asthma, lung cancer, etc. The early identification of lung diseases helps to detect the disease more accurately. Several deep learning techniques, including convolutional neural network, vanilla neural networks, visual geometry group-based networks and Caps Net, are used to predict the lung illness. To forecast different lung diseases from chest X-ray and CT scan pictures, typical CNN's performance and learning framework is insufficient. This proposed work aims to build a lung disease detection model using CNN with various hyperparameter tuning to enhance the accuracy of the model. Also, the accuracy is associated with advanced methods to enhance the performance of the proposed work. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper studies the correlation between students' concentration in class and learning interest, emotional state and other influencing factors. By collecting students' classroom status data, a data set suitable for data mining is constructed. Based on the idea of Apriori algorithm, the Anaconda Navigator programming tool is used to mine the association rules of students' classroom concentration. Through data mining based on Apriori algorithm, and the association rules between students' emotional state, learning interest and other factors and in-class test scores are output. The results of strong association rules show that the better students' emotional state, learning interest and other states are, the better their classroom concentration performance is. Mining the potential influencing factors of students' classroom concentration provides valuable reference theory for students to improve classroom concentration and teachers to improve classroom teaching effect, which is helpful for teachers and students to build a more efficient classroom together in the future. © 2023 IEEE.

The fact that early-stage breast cancer typically presents no signs, poses a global risk to the lives of women. Digital mammography is just one method among many that can detect breast cancer in its early stages. Despite extensive research, most methods for detecting breast cancers still produce a large number of false positives. The difficulty in improving detection accuracy is in reducing false positives by differentiating masses from normal tissues. Using the textural properties of the masses, this study aims to develop a computer-aided diagnosis system that reduces the number of false positive and negative mammography results. The suggested method initially partitions regions of interest (ROI) into small patches to extract an abnormality region and micro-pattern, which permits the extraction of specific information about the image's content in targeted areas. Reducing the computational complexity of an image analysis operation is accomplished by partitioning a ROI into smaller patches rather than processing the complete image at once. Due to the significant impact the noise has on detection accuracy in mammograms, a textural descriptor that is insensitive to noise is introduced to describe image features such as lines, spots, flat areas, and edges. By expanding the rotation-invariant and noise-tolerant descriptor histograms, we generate an improved histogram that preserves the original regional patterns and spatial relationships between masses. To distinguish between "normal" and "mass" and "benign" and "malignant", Support Vector Machines (SVM) is employed with grid search based hyperparameter optimization. Our proposed approach was evaluated using the Digital database for Screening Mammography (DDSM), which contains over 1024 ROI cases. This database is a well-established benchmark for testing new mammography analysis methods. Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and Optical sensors are very popular depending on their strengths and application needs. The ocean surface will be covered with clouds most of the time and optical sensors cannot capture the information as they cannot operate in dust and cloudy conditions. So, SAR sensors come into existence to capture the atmospheric phenomena in those regions. There is a wide range of texture extraction techniques such as traditional-based wavelet analysis, statistical analysis, local pixel-based approaches, and dimensional reduction approaches. However, these approaches have limitations in boundary extraction, high-dimensional feature extraction, and uniformity representation. In recent times, deep learning (DL) approaches to extract features which varies based on the applications, image interpretation, and so on. At the same time, DL approaches are limited in transparency, computation requirements, and hyperparameter tuning. In contrast, the proposed S5ELBP i.e., Supervised SAR image classification using the integration of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Scale Selective Extended Local Binary Pattern (SSELBP) extraction techniques shall overcome various challenges of existing traditional and DL approaches such as adaptive thresholding, less computational resources, and noise robustness. Hence, the objective of the proposed methodology is to extract the image features from the Scale Selective Extended Local Binary Pattern (SSELBP). Also, the SSELBP features are integrated with SVM to show the strength of the proposed approach in SAR image classification. Additionally, the performance of the present work is enhanced by comparing the extracted results with various classifiers. Finally, the work is concluded by recommending the scope of future work. © 2023 IEEE.

Password-based authentication is a widely used method to ensure security and privacy in computer applications. However, the selection of weak passwords and insecure input methods by users is considered the 'weakest link' in the authentication process. Instead of employing arbitrary alphanumeric sequences, individuals tend to opt for passphrases that are either mnemonic or abbreviated in nature. With the proliferation of web and mobile applications, users can access these applications at any time and from anywhere with various devices. Although this convenience is highly desirable, it also increases the likelihood of passwords being exposed to Visual Hacking. The forms of attack may be executed through either direct visual observation or the utilization of external recording devices in order to obtain the user's login information. In response to this issue, our team has devised an authentication system that centers on graphical passwords and is made to combat the threat of Visual Hacking. The system incorporates a three-layered security mechanism, comprising color and pattern matching functionalities in conjunction with password verification. This makes it highly challenging for potential attackers to deduce or limit the password even amidst numerous camera-based hacking attempts. Additionally, we have created and put to the test a prototype of the system to assess its user-friendliness. Our experimental results indicate that our system can resist Visual Hacking more effectively than previous authentication systems while still maintaining a high degree of usability and security. © 2023 IEEE.
