In recent years, the integration of deep learning techniques into dental diagnostics has shown promising results in enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of disease detection. This paper considers the use of Convolutional Neural Networks for classifying dental conditions based on a dataset that includes 375 images of diverse conditions such as cavities, gingivitis, periodontitis, fluorosis, and healthy teeth. The dataset comprises 300 images for training and 75 for validation. To enhance model generalization and mitigate overfitting, several techniques were employed. Image preprocessing was carried out by resizing all images to a uniform resolution and normalizing pixel values to ensure consistency across the dataset. Using four architectures of CNNs: ResNet-50, VGG16, MobileNet, and ShuffleNet, softmax activation is utilized in determining the classification of the dental conditions. Dropout and L2 weight regularization are utilized for preventing overfitting. It trains models beyond 100 epochs, and to evaluate each of the models one uses accuracy, loss metrics besides drawing out those models which were found out to perform better and generalize the unseen data, and finally to analyze further visualize by taking ROC curves along with AUC scores. The best model, in terms of both classification accuracy and computational efficiency, for the classification of dental conditions will be identified. © 2025 IEEE.

A method for designing ultra-low power two-stage D-string Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) is presented. A systematic approach for implementing highly accurate DACs with leakage compensation is proposed. The utilization of D-string rather than resistors, allows resistances in G Ω range without area overhead, resulting in remarkably constant low current consumption. Furthermore, transistor stacking is employed to reduce the subthreshold leakage in the DAC switches. Simulation results in GF's 22 nm FD-SOI process of a two-stage 8-bit D-string DAC demonstrate high accuracy of σDNL/σINL better than 0.021/0.13 LSBs with consumption of 118 pA of current for a supply of 580 mV. © 2024 IEEE.

The Holy Quran stands as the revered scripture of Islam, representing the final divine revelation bestowed upon the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) in the Arabic language. Its enduring significance is exemplified by its preservation in its original form for over 1400 years, offering profound spiritual guidance to humanity worldwide. The Holy Quran has 30 chapters, housing 114 surahs totaling 6236 verses (excluding Bismillah at the beginning of each surah), with a word count of 77880. Navigating this vast repository of divine guidance poses a formidable challenge for researchers, compounded by the absence of efficient search tools tailored specifically to the Quranic text. In this paper, we have presented a voice-Activated search engine for the Holy Quran which can be particularly helpful to visually impaired individuals searching for specific verses through the Holy Quran. © 2024 IEEE.

Emerging power electronic drives and converters are planned to operate at high voltages with high switching frequencies (up to a few hundred kHz), which will affect the reliability of insulation systems of windings of electrical machines. To evaluate the insulation quality under such high-frequency pulses, lifetime test is a prominent way. For simplification of test procedure, turn-to-turn insulation samples are approved by IEC 60034-18-42. In past studies, the impact of switching frequencies has been investigated under lower frequencies (up to 20 kHz), which cannot address the challenges of next-generation wide bandgap (WBG)-based power converters. In this study, the lifetimes of turn-to-turn insulations under high switching frequencies (50 kHz) are tested at four different rise times (50 ns, 100 ns, 150 ns, 200 ns), and the impact of switching frequency on the lifetime of the insulation is analyzed. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper describes a test setup to support the development of a bi-directional acoustic communication link relying on adaptive transceivers. The physical layer relies on the JANUS protocol for discovery of new nodes and assessment of the channel conditions. The transmitter has a bandwidth of 5 kHz at a center frequency of 27.5 kHz, while the receiver relies on broadband hydrophones. The embedded system allows to transmit in diverse underwater scenarios, and the System-on-Chip is programmed to transmit various waveforms including through coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Key elements of the program are described to maintain real-time operation on the embedded systems. At the receiver, the data is sampled at 96 kHz and a 4 Mbps cabled link to a host interface is developed to diagnose the communication link reliability. © 2024 IEEE.

Different from two-level converters (TLCs), the sub-module (SM) capacitor voltages of modular multilevel converters (MMCs) include significant ripple components when an MMC is loaded on the ac side. Therefore, the conventional symmetric third-order zero-sequence voltage injection (ZSVI) widely used in TLCs does not guarantee the maximum output voltage synthesis. In this paper, a novel optimal ZSVI merely using instantaneous arm output voltage references and SM capacitor voltages is proposed. The proposed method is based on simple online calculation and makes the output voltage of the MMC be its instantaneous theoretical limit. The proposed method is valid not only in steady state but also in transient state, and its performance is not dependent on the accuracy of the model (e.g. losses and SM capacitance) inherently. The validity of the proposed method is verified experimentally by a 300 Vdc, 4 kW, and 7 level down-scaled prototype MMC. © 2024 IEEE.

We establish that stabilization of a class of linear, hyperbolic PDEs with a large (nevertheless finite) number of components, can be achieved via employment of a backstepping-based control law, which is constructed for stabilization of a continuum version (i.e., as the number of components tends to infinity) of the PDE system. This is achieved by proving that the exact backstepping kernels, constructed for stabilization of the large-scale system, can be approximated (in certain sense such that exponential stability is preserved) by the backstepping kernels constructed for stabilization of a continuum version (essentially an infinite ensemble) of the original PDE system. The proof relies on construction of a convergent sequence of backstepping kernels that is defined such that each kernel matches the exact backstepping kernels (derived based on the original, large-scale system), in a piecewise constant manner with respect to an ensemble variable;while showing that they satisfy the continuum backstepping kernel equations. We present a numerical example that reveals that complexity of computation of stabilizing backstepping kernels may not scale with the number of components of the PDE state, when the kernels are constructed on the basis of the continuum version, in contrast to the case in which they are constructed on the basis of the original, large-scale system. Thus, this approach can be useful for design of computationally tractable, stabilizing backstepping-based control laws for large-scale PDE systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Agricultural productivity has a critical role in maintaining economies, especially in nations where a significant proportion of the population is engaged in farming. Plant diseases are a serious risk to agricultural productivity because they can result in losses that are both quantitative and qualitative. To identify plant illnesses, this study suggests a complete system that makes use of deep learning and image processing methods, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs).mAn artifi-cial neural network with specific capabilities for processing grid-structured data-especially images-is called a convolutional neural network (CNN). CNNs are particularly good at extracting hierarchical features from visual input. They are made up of pooling layers for spatial dimension reduction, activation functions for adding nonlinearity, and convolutional layers that apply filters to extract local patterns. © 2024 IEEE.

For effective city planning and traffic control, it is now crucial to develop some effective monitoring systems for vehicle traffic in order to address this quickly growing tendency within a city. As a result, the TrackNCount project combines DeepSORT with YOLOv8 for object identification to create a smart system for tracking, counting, and speed estimation of vehicles. The idea behind this design is to use sophisticated computer vision techniques in conjunction with efficient algorithms to handle real-world scenarios. Setting up a reliable procedure that recognizes cars, gives them distinct IDs, and records their movements through video frames is our first priority. The system computes vehicle speeds using the Euclidean distance formula, manages item trajectories using double-ended queues, and detects entering and outgoing vehicles based on directional thresholds. Motion trails and bounding boxes are two further visual aids that improve the results' readability. With the added benefit of simple speed estimation feature integration, the model provides exceptional accuracy in real-time vehicle monitoring and counting. Experiments conducted on a variety of traffic scenarios consistently showed that this system can deliver precise vehicle counts in designated directions and speed calculations with a small margin of error. The findings show that TrackNCount is a viable and scalable solution for data-driven city planning and intelligent traffic management. © 2025 IEEE.
