Hyperspectralchannel reconstruction transforms a subsampled multispectral image into hyperspectral imaging, providing higher spectral resolution without a dedicated acquisition hardware and camera. Multi-stage Spectral-wise Transformer for Efficient Spectral Reconstruction (MST++) is a state-of-the-art channel reconstruction technique, but it faces memory limitations for high spatial-resolution images. In this context, we introduced VITMST++, a novel architecture incorporating Vision Transformer embeddings for spatial compression, multi-resolution image context, and a custom channel-weighted loss. Developed for the ICASSP 2024 HyperSkin Challenge, VITMST++ outperforms the state-of-the-art MST++ in both performance and computational efficiency in channel reconstruction. In this work, we perform a deeper analysis on the main aspects of VITMST++ efficiency, quantitative performance, and generalization to other datasets. Results show that VITMST++ achieves similar values of SAM and SSIM hyperspectral reconstruction metrics when compared to state-of-the-art methods, while consuming up to three fold less memory and needing up to 10 times fewer multiply-add operations. © 2020 IEEE.

The radio access technology keeps users connected to communication networks anywhere and anytime in Fifth Generation and beyond wireless communication systems (b5G). Future radio access technologies incorporate major wireless communication system parameters, like huge data rates, massive connectivity, high energy efficiency, very low latency, etc. Hence, there is a need to bring revolutionary changes in the present radio access technologies (RATs). The employment of 5G and beyond technologies aim to provide better throughput, lower latency, excellent user connectivity and quality of service, and reliability. Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) techniques are employed to allow users to share the same time-frequency blocks. NOMA can support huge data rates, massive connectivity and promises user fairness. The user capacity of NOMA can be enhanced by integrating it with the cooperative relay networks, that provide enhanced spectral efficiency, energy efficiency and user connectivity. This article presents the detailed review of resource allocation techniques in Cooperative NOMA (CNOMA) with discussion about the challenges in implementing CNOMA in multi-user communications system. ©2024 IEEE.

In modern drone applications, precise positioning in formation flying is one of the primary issues that needs to be addressed. Among these, passive positioning technology is a commonly used and effective method for precise formation flying. However, most such methods require the transmission and reception of radio signals, which is inconvenient in scenarios requiring electromagnetic silence. This study proposes a drone formation positioning correction strategy based solely on azimuth passive positioning. This strategy, through geometric analysis and mathematical visualization techniques combined with polar coordinate positioning and a 0-1 planning model, corrects the positions of drones with deviations, optimizes flight efficiency, and enhances safety. Experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the positioning accuracy of drone formations under conditions of electromagnetic silence, demonstrating substantial practical value and prospects for wider application. © 2024 SPIE.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in understanding how rain affects frequency bands in 4G/5G networks, especially in outdoor industrial environments. Most studies focus on the use of frequencies above 10 GHz, while few address this issue using frequencies typical of 4G/5G systems. This study investigates the effects of rain on band variation in 4G/5G mobile radio networks. In particular, by hypothesizing a value of eNBID, the number of times a band change occurs with and without rain was calculated. From these data, an increment factor (Δ F), normalized over time, was calculated to define the occurrence of band changes with and without rain. Two CNN network trainings were conducted with two different datasets, the first characterized by the absence of band variation information and the second characterized by the presence of such information. In the first case, an accuracy of about 75% was obtained, and in the second case, the obtained result was around 71%. These findings suggest that the addition of band variation information seems to be not relevant in terms of network performance. Finally, a CTGAN network was introduced for the generation of synthetic data for smaller classes, which resulted in an increase in performance of about 10%, reaching an average accuracy of 85% © 2024 IEEE.

Nowadays, skin diseases are very common due to increasing bacterial attack, fungal infection, UVB rays due to the depleting ozone layer. So, if we can take preventive measures from early on, then we can increase the rate of recovery. For early detection, we proposed a method that uses computer vision based techniques to detect three kinds of dermatological skin diseases. We have trained our CNN model with the dataset of eight types of diseases, those are Acne, Basal Cell Carcinoma, Rosacea, Nevus, Melanoma, Eczema, Actinic Keratosis and Seborrheic keratosis. The system successfully detects these eight diseases with an accuracy rate of 95% © 2024 IEEE.

Brushless DC (BLDC) motors are widely used in various applications today. The two commonly used control methods include the maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control and maximum torque per volt (MTPV) control, which can be easily implemented through different advances in firing angle. However, both of those methods also have their limitations and drawbacks. The MTPA may not produce enough torque to satisfy operation requirements, especially during high-speed operation. The MTPV method, while capable of delivering higher torque, results in higher losses. This paper proposes a novel flux-weakening (FW) control strategy to enable the BLDC motors to operate within a higher speed range, produce sufficient torque, and minimize the magnitude of stator current. The proposed method applies the MTPA at low speeds, and at higher speeds or when high torque is required, it smoothly transitions to the FW region. The proposed method is demonstrated to have improved dynamic response, a wider speed/torque operating range, and higher efficiency (compared to MTPV). © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a methodology for implementing low-power, high-speed artificial neural network based on analog hardware architecture. The key components include current-mode circuits, such as the Gaussian function, Sigmoid function, current correlator, and current mirrors and a current-mode comparator for the final decision. The architecture operates efficiently at 875nW with a low power supply of 0.6V. Tested on real-world Parkinson's disease classification tasks, it achieves over 94.8% accuracy. Implemented in a 90 nm TSMC CMOS process and developed with the Cadence IC Suite, the design is validated through Monte Carlo and corner analysis, confirming its robustness compared to software-based classifiers and existing literature. © 2024 IEEE.

In this work, a method to improve multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna system channel capacity based on S-parameter phase difference is proposed. Theoretical derivation and numerical analysis show that the 90° phase difference of port reflection and transmission coefficients between two antennas enhances MIMO channel capacity by significantly suppressing the correlation. The proposed method provides a new way to increase the capacity of MIMO systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Traditional broadband solutions are often economically and technically infeasible in rural regions due to sparse populations, high infrastructure costs, and energy inefficiencies. This makes rural broadband access a critical challenge, particularly in developing countries where socio-economic disparities and geographical barriers exacerbate the digital divide. This paper proposes an innovative cluster-based network architecture to address such challenges by leveraging low-power Customer Premise Equipment (CPE) and underutilized television white space (TVWS) frequencies. The proposed system forms collaborative clusters of CPEs that use distributed beamforming (DBF) for transmitting data to a central Point of Presence (PoP) Base Station. This approach reduces the need for extensive infrastructure and high-power transmissions, offering a cost-effective and energy-efficient solution. A two-tier uplink access protocol is introduced to optimize data transmission, ensuring scalability and reliability as rural populations grow. By addressing the unique challenges of rural connectivity, this study provides a viable pathway for expanding internet access, enabling socio-economic growth, and bridging the digital divide in underserved communities. Key contributions include dynamic clustering algorithms, scalability enhancements, and a comprehensive performance evaluation, offering a transformative model for rural broadband deployment. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed architecture is up to 20% more energy efficient with significantly improved throughput compared to conventional rural broadband access schemes. © 2025 IEEE.

The ever-growing need for computational power has led to advanced packaging technologies for integrated circuits. One such technology is 2.5D integration, which reduces the distance between chiplets in a single package, resulting in a reduction of delay and power during data transfer. To connect chiplets, Intel created the Advanced Interface Bus (AIB), an open-source interface, as a universal solution for low power chiplet communication through a wide parallel channel with a low complexity circuit and an active redundancy scheme. However, with the increase in frequency of the interconnect, a considerable part of the total system power is used for data transfers. To reduce the power consumed by the interconnect, data encoding schemes are deployed. This paper explores the integration of our encoding scheme Adaptive Word Reordering (AWR) in Intel's AIB, evaluating the energy savings that can result by combining an emerging industrial interface with a modern data encoding technique. The results show that with the integration of AWR in AIB, the total power is reduced by 5.5% whereas the included Data Bus Invert (DBI) encoding scheme does not achieve noticeable improvement for the evaluated workloads. © 2024 IEEE.
