Towards optimized tensor code generation for deep learning on sunway many-core processor

The flourish of deep learning frameworks and hardware platforms has been demanding an efficient compiler that can shield the diversity in both software and hardware in order to provide application *** the existing deep learning compilers,TVM is well known for its efficiency in code generation and optimization across diverse hardware *** the meanwhile,the Sunway many-core processor renders itself as a competitive candidate for its attractive computational power in both scientific computing and deep learning *** paper combines the trends in these two ***,we propose swTVM that extends the original TVM to support ahead-of-time compilation for architecture requiring cross-compilation such as *** addition,we leverage the architecture features during the compilation such as core group for massive parallelism,DMA for high bandwidth memory transfer and local device memory for data locality,in order to generate efficient codes for deep learning workloads on *** experiment results show that the codes generated by swTVM achieve 1.79x improvement of inference latency on average compared to the state-of-the-art deep learning framework on Sunway,across eight representative *** work is the first attempt from the compiler perspective to bridge the gap of deep learning and Sunway processor particularly with productivity and efficiency in *** believe this work will encourage more people to embrace the power of deep learning and Sunwaymany-coreprocessor.

Battery energy storage(BES)systems can effectively meet the diversified needs of power system dispatching and assist in renewable energy *** reliability of energy storage is essential to ensure the operational safety of the power ***,BES systems are composed of battery *** suggests that BES performance depends not only on the configuration but also on the operating state over different lifetime *** lack of safety and reliability is the main bottleneck preventing widespread applications of BES ***,a reliability assessment algorithm and a weak-link analytical method for BES systems are proposed while considering battery lifetime ***,a novel lithium-ion battery model is proposed to identify the degradation rate of solid electrolyte interphase film formation and capacity *** impacts of different operating conditions are considered in stress factor ***,a reliability assessment algorithm for a BES system is introduced based on a universal generating *** innovative weak-link analytical method based on the reliability importance index is proposed that combines the evaluation results of state-oriented and state-change-oriented indexes through an entropy weight *** model,algorithm,indexes,and the usefulness are demonstrated in case studies based on aging test data and actual bus operating *** results demonstrate the effects of the battery status and working conditions on BES ***-link analysis is also used to assist BES systems in avoiding short-board batteries to achieve long lifetimes and efficient operation.

For spacecraft attitude control affected by environmental disturbance, parameter uncertainty and actuator fault, a novel composite active fault-tolerant scheme, combining a strong tracking Cubature Kalman filter (STCKF) with adaptive prescribed performance control (APPC), is investigated in this paper. The proposed STCKF is capable of estimating lumped fault rapidly but accurately, and it is robust to model uncertainty. An adaptive finite-time prescribed performance function (APPF) whose boundaries can be flexibly adjusted in the case of actuator faults is proposed. Then an active fault tolerant controller is designed using nonsingular terminal sliding mode control (NTSMC) in conjunction with APPF. simulation experiments and comparisons show that the proposed strategy exhibits better fault tolerance, lower conservatism and better steady-state performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Internet of Things(IoT) terminals are characterized by large number, wide distribution, complex hierarchical structure, etc., and are often in complex environments, which are more susceptible to attacks than traditional Internet terminal devices, and their security management faces greater challenges. Because blockchain technology has the advantages of being distributed, decentralized, and not easily tampered with, it is very suitable for solving the current security problems faced by the Internet of Things. In this paper, the research on the security aspects of IoT based on blockchain technology in recent years is sorted out, discussing the application of blockchain technology in the field of IoT security from three aspects of privacy protection, identity authentication, and access control, analyzing the technical characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of different technical solutions, and looking forward to the future development of these fields. © 2024 IEEE.

Consumer approval of the online auction paradigm is demonstrated by rapidly expanding online auction transaction volumes. Bidders can access a wider variety of products, and sellers can reach a larger audience through online auction platforms. However, privacy concerns have reduced users’ trust in auction platforms, and complicated disputes have led consumers to lose faith in online auctions, negatively impacting market growth. The emergence of blockchain technology has brought a new approach to solving these problems. Blockchain is a new generation of information technology that is decentralized, transparent, traceable, anti-tampering, and unforgeable, following big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. In this paper, we present a blockchain-based online auction solution as well as an auction protocol that uses ring signatures to guarantee anonymity. Three features summarize this essay: (1) Using blockchain technology to ensure that the auction transaction process is transparent, traceable, tamper-proof, and unforgeable. (2) The ring signature-based anonymous auction protocol allows for concealing bidders’ public keys in a group of public keys. Because malicious individuals are prevented from evaluating data by tracking numerous transactions of a single public key, this significantly protects bidders’ privacy. Interference is one of the most critical issues in the cellular Device-to-Device (D2D) networks. The sharing of radio resources in cellular and D2D communications offers spectrum efficiency advantages for the cellular network. However, resource sharing also introduces interference, leading to a reduction in the quality of service experienced by users. In this paper, we propose an adversarial Multi-Armed Bandit learning-based transmission Power Control method called MAB-PC for both cellular and D2D transmitters. The objective of this method is to ensure the minimum service quality for users, considering the minimum spectral efficiency and maximum block error rate. Additionally, to address the conflicting objectives of D2D and cellular communications, MAB-PC is modeled as a Pareto optimization problem for D2D transmitters. MAB-PC is a distributed method that minimizes signaling overhead and relies solely on local Channel State Information (CSI). The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated based on reliability, total data rate, spectral efficiency, block error rate, and outage probability, demonstrating superior performance compared to its counterpart. © 2023 IEEE.

Advanced Modelling and simulation (M&S) techniques, including Digital Twins (DTs) and Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation, are essential for the design and operation of today’s complex systems. Despite these advances, there remains a gap between the simulation methods used in design and those used in implementation. This paper introduces a Real-Time (RT) simulation framework that connects models using the Discrete-Event System Specification (DEVS) with external systems, improving implementation and operation. The Python xDEVS tool has been enhanced to introduce a new suite of real-time simulation components and a DEVS-based communication interface, facilitating adaptable communication protocols. The framework demonstrates its capability to integrate both DEVS and non-DEVS systems and establish effective communication through various experiments, ranging from RT simulation of DEVS models to complex multi-component systems. This tool has significant potential in supporting real and incremental system implementations through HIL techniques, making a valuable contribution to complex system design and operation. © 2024 Society for Modeling & simulation International (SCS).

Object detection is one of the most important aspects in remote applications like space docking, uncooperative satellite locating, etc. Most of the technologies employ this task using various machine learning as well as deep learning models. The main criteria that differentiate these models are their performance, accuracy, and doing the prediction successfully. Some of the widely used models for object detection are CNN-based, like ResNet, YOLO model, etc. Object detection plays a key role in locating satellite objects in images and thereby helping in the estimation of their relative pose. The main objective of this paper is to explore the object detection operation using a region-based convolutional neural network (R-CNN) model called Mask region-based convolutional neural network (Mask R-CNN) on a custom dataset. Our dataset consists of tumbling satellite images, captured using a 3-axis motion simulator. The detection result is then utilized by the SORT object tracker to track the tumbling satellite in the video frames. Here, we are exploiting the masked output from the model and then performing corner detection to trace them in continuous frames using SORT tracker. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
