The SAR image and the multispectral image are both used for dynamic monitoring, mineral resources investigation, urban and rural monitoring and evaluation, traffic network exploration, forest resources investigation, desertification monitoring, and so on. The multi-spectral and SAR image fusion to improve the classify quality is discussed in this paper, compared the common fusion algorithms of the SAR image and multi spectral images, that is standard color transform (Brovey) method, phase recovery (Gram-Schmidt) method and color space transform (HSV) method, principal component transformation super resolution (PCA) method and Bias method (Pansharp), by which the fused image is more relative with the multi-spectral and SAR. © 2021 IEEE.

Fault diagnosis for PV arrays considering dust impact based on transformed graphical feature of characteristic curves and convolutional neural network with CBAM modules

Various faults can occur during the operation of PV arrays, and both the dust-affected operating conditions and various diode configurations make the faults more complicated. However, current methods for fault diagnosis based on I-V characteristic curves only utilize partial feature information and often rely on calibrating the field characteristic curves to standard test conditions (STC). It is difficult to apply it in practice and to accurately identify multiple complex faults with similarities in different blocking diodes configurations of PV arrays under the influence of dust. Therefore, a novel fault diagnosis method for PV arrays considering dust impact is proposed. In the preprocessing stage, the Isc-Voc normalized Gramian angular difference field (GADF) method is presented, which normalizes and transforms the resampled PV array characteristic curves from the field including I-V and P-V to obtain the transformed graphical feature matrices. Then, in the fault diagnosis stage, the model of convolutional neural network (CNN) with convolutional block attention modules (CBAM) is designed to extract fault differentiation information from the transformed graphical matrices containing full feature information and to classify faults. And different graphical feature transformation methods are compared through simulation cases, and different CNN-based classification methods are also analyzed. The results indicate that the developed method for PV arrays with different blocking diodes configurations under various operating conditions has high fault diagnosis accuracy and reliability. Towards quantum thermal multi-transistor systems: Energy divider formalism

A quantum thermal transistor controls the flow of thermal energy through two of its terminals in response to an external input signal on its third terminal. In recent years, several realizations of thermal transistors combining individual quantum systems have been proposed using temperatures or optical fields as the control signals. The success of the electronic transistor in modern technology partly lies in its ability to combine and make multi-transistor systems with enhanced flow control capability or even wholly different behaviors. Hence, as the next natural step, we investigate the intricacies of building composite systems combining multiple quantum thermal transistors. We identify that the interconnects of thermal transistors play a critical role in these systems by facilitating energy exchange from one transistor to another. By isolating the exact functionality of these interconnects, we develop a simple model that still captures all its essential characteristics. This model shows that directly coupling transistors allows a substantial energy transfer between them only under highly restrictive conditions. We then develop the energy divider formalism where a single properly tuned quantum harmonic oscillator acts as an intermediary between the transistors. We demonstrate that the oscillator mediates a substantial energy exchange under a considerably relaxed set of conditions and illustrate its operating principles through detailed quantum mechanical state analysis. We compare our energy divider based interconnect against the previously developed intermediate bath method and confirm that both ways achieve similar thermal energy flow rates between the transistors over a broad range of operating temperatures. At the same time, replacing an intermediate bath made up of a large number of harmonic oscillators with a single oscillator avoids many of the theoretical and practical limitations of the earlier method. In many VoIP systems, Voice Activity Detection (VAD) is often used on VoIP traffic to suppress packets of silence in order to reduce the bandwidth consumption of phone calls. Unfortunately, although VoIP traffic is fully encrypted and secured, traffic analysis of this suppression can reveal identifying information about calls made to customer service automated phone systems. Because different customer service phone systems have distinct, but fixed (pre-recorded) automated voice messages sent to customers, VAD silence suppression used in VoIP will enable an eavesdropper to profile and identify these automated voice messages. In this paper, we will use a popular enterprise VoIP system (Cisco CallManager), running the default Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) protocol, to demonstrate that an attacker can reliably use the silence suppression to profile calls to such VoIP systems. Our real-world experiments demonstrate that this side-channel profiling attack can be used to accurately identify not only what customer service phone number a customer calls, but also what following options are subsequently chosen by the caller in the phone conversation.

UDHF2-Net: Uncertainty-diffusion-model-based High-Frequency TransFormer Network for Remotely Sensed Imagery Interpretation

Remotely sensed imagery interpretation (RSII), including semantic segmentation and change detection, faces the three major problems: (1) objective representation of spatial distribution patterns with coexistence of spatial stationary and non-stationary;(2) edge uncertainty problem caused by downsampling encoder and intrinsic edge noises (e.g., mixed pixel and edge occlusion etc.);and (3) false detection problem caused by geometric registration error in change detection. To solve the aforementioned problems, uncertainty-diffusion-model-based high-Frequency TransFormer network (UDHF2-Net) is the first to be proposed, whose superiorities are as follows: (1) a spatially-stationary-and-non-stationary high-frequency connection paradigm (SHCP) is proposed to enhance the interaction of spatially frequency-wise stationary and non-stationary features to yield high-fidelity edge extraction result. Inspired by HRFormer, SHCP proposes high-frequency-wise stream to replace high-resolution-wise stream in HRFormer through the whole encoder-decoder process with parallel frequency-wise high-to-low streams, so it improves the edge extraction accuracy by continuously remaining high-frequency information;(2) a mask-and-geo-knowledge-based uncertainty diffusion module (MUDM), which is a self-supervised learning strategy, is proposed to improve the edge accuracy of extraction and change detection by gradually removing the simulated spectrum noises based on geo-knowledge and the generated diffused spectrum noises;(3) a frequency-wise semi-pseudo-Siamese UDHF2-Net is the first to be proposed to balance accuracy and complexity for change detection. Besides the aforementioned spectrum noises in semantic segmentation, MUDM is also a self-supervised learning strategy to effectively reduce the edge false change detection from the generated imagery with geometric registration error. Automatic breast tumor segmentation based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) is significant for the diagnosis and monitoring of breast cancers. CNNs have become an important method for early diagnosis of breast cancer and, thus, can help decrease the mortality rate. In order to assist medical professionals in breast cancer investigation a computerized system based on two encoder-decoder architectures for breast tumor segmentation has been developed. Two pre-trained DeepLabV3+ and U-Net models are proposed. The encoder generates a high-dimensional feature vector while the decoder analyses the low-resolution feature vector provided by the encoder and generates a semantic segmentation mask. Semantic segmentation based on deep learning techniques can overcome the limitations of traditional algorithms. To assess the efficiency of breast ultrasound image segmentation, we compare the segmentation results provided by CNNs against the Local Graph Cut technique (a semi-automatic segmentation method) in the Image Segmenter application. The output segmentation results have been evaluated by using the Dice similarity coefficient that compares the ground truth images provided by the specialists against the predicted segmentation results provided by the CNNs and Local Graph Cut algorithm. The proposed approach is validated on 780 breast ultrasonographic images of the BUSI public database of which 437 are benign and 210 are malignant. The BUSI database provides classification (benign or malignant) labels for ground truth in binary mask images. The average Dice scores computed between the ground truth images against CNNs were as follows: 0.9360 (malignant) and 0.9325 (benign) for the DeepLabV3+ architecture and of 0.6251 (malignant) and 0.6252 (benign) for the U-Net, respectively. When the segmentation results provided by CNNs were compared with the Local Graph Cut segmented images, the Dice scores were 0.9377 (malignant) and 0.9204 (benign) for DeepLabV3+ architecture and 0.61

Acidic water electrolysis enables the production of hydrogen for use as a chemical and as a fuel. The acidic environment hinders water electrolysis on non-noble catalysts, a result of the sluggish kinetics associated with the adsorbate evolution mechanism, reliant as it is on four concerted proton-electron transfer steps. Enabling a faster mechanism with non-noble catalysts will help to further advance acidic water electrolysis. Here, we report evidence that doping Ba cations into a Co3O4 framework to form Co3-xBaxO4 promotes the oxide path mechanism and simultaneously improves activity in acidic electrolytes. Co3-xBaxO4 catalysts reported herein exhibit an overpotential of 278 mV at 10 mA/cm2 in 0.5 M H2SO4 electrolyte and are stable over 110 h of continuous water oxidation operation. We find that the incorporation of Ba cations shortens the Co-Co distance and promotes OH adsorption, findings we link to improved water oxidation in acidic electrolyte. © 2023 American Chemical Society.

Coronary angioplasty with stent implantation is the most frequently used interventional treatment for coronary artery disease. However, reocclusion within the stent, referred to as in-stent restenosis, occurs in up to 10% of lesions. It is widely accepted that mechanical loads on the vessel wall strongly affect adaptive and maladaptive mechanisms. Yet, the role of procedural and lesion-specific influence on restenosis risk remains understudied. Computational modeling of the stenting procedure can provide new mechanistic insights, such as local stresses, that play a significant role in tissue growth and remodeling. Previous simulation studies often featured simplified artery and stent geometries and cannot be applied to real-world examples. Realistic simulations were computationally expensive since they featured fully resolved stenting device models. The aim of this work is to develop and present a mixed-dimensional formulation to simulate the patient-specific stenting procedure with a reduced-dimensional beam model for the stent and 3D models for the artery. In addition to presenting the numerical approach, we apply it to realistic cases to study the intervention's mechanical effect on the artery and correlate the findings with potential high-risk locations for in-stent restenosis. We found that high artery wall stresses develop during the coronary intervention in severely stenosed areas and at the stent boundaries. Herewith, we lay the groundwork for further studies towards preventing in-stent restenosis after coronary angioplasty. © 2025 The Authors

For every researcher, uncertainties connected to the Smart Grid and Distribution Network are a common element. Thousands of sources are part of the renewable energy system and they are situated at varying distances. In due course, certain sources may be inefficient, or a natural disaster can destroy the source causing power supply failures or require routine maintenance to improve service. Some of these defects grow slowly and some have a strong impact. The systems, however, contain safety components to remove the problem, but impact the generation of electricity and conduct intelligent grid errors. An intelligent microgrid should feature an intelligent fault location detection and fault removal device to avoid unwanted loads and insecurities. This research shaped a smart grid system, together with a defective technique to identify uncertainty efficiently. The originality of this research is to model an SMG based on an isolated small area's SGC mechanism in conjunction with a defective detecting system to manage uncertainties in an efficient way. The FLD technique is focused upon wavelet trigger signal and mathematical morphology method. In this approach, the wavelet activator signal created by the equivalent current or voltage for a short period of time is simulated to go to both terminals to determine that the fault takes place in the short branch using the mathematical morphological technique. The SMG modeled system is separated into a few branches for the FLD system. A smart technique is presented via mixed human machine interface (HMI) for SMG performance and FLD monitoring. Full driving automation imposes to date unmet performance requirements on camera and computer vision systems, in order to replace the visual system of a human driver in any conditions. So far, the individual components of an automotive camera have mostly been optimized independently, or without taking into account the effect on the computer vision applications. We propose an end-to-end optimization of the imaging system in software, from generation of radiometric input data over physically based camera component models to the output of a computer vision system. Specifically, we present an optimization framework which extends the ISETCam and ISET3d toolboxes to create synthetic spectral data of high dynamic range, and which models a state-of-the-art automotive camera in more detail. It includes a state-of-the-art object detection system as benchmark application. We highlight in which way the framework approximates the physical image formation process. As a result, we provide guidelines for optimization experiments involving modification of the model parameters, and show how these apply to a first experiment on high dynamic range imaging. © This work is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
