Nowadays,theuse of Avatars that are unique digital depictions has increased by users to access Metaverse—a virtual reality environment—through multiple devices and for various ***,the Avatar and Metaverse are being developed with a new theory,application,and design,necessitating the association of more personal data and devices of targeted users every *** Avatar and Metaverse technology explosion raises privacy and security concerns,leading to cyber ***-Honeypot,or Metaverse-Honeypot,as a commercial off-the-shelf solution that can counter these cyber attack-causing vulnerabilities,should be *** fill this gap,we study user’s engagements with Avatars in Metaverse,analyze possible security vulnerabilities,and create a model named Simplified Avatar Relationship Association with Non-linear Gradient(SARANG)that draws the full diagram of infrastructure components and data flow through accessing Metaverse in this *** also determine the most significant threat for each component’s cyberattacks that will affect user data and *** a result,the commercial off-the-shelf(COTS)of the MV-Honeypot must be established.

Internet of Things (IoT) platforms are being actively designed to provide various services to users. However, most IoT platforms are developed in independent environments, causing difficulties in their interoperability. Even though heterogeneous IoT platforms employ the same attribute-based access control (ABAC) model to protect their resources, the attribute representation methods used by these platforms differ. Consequently, a semantic interoperability problem arises, wherein users of one platform cannot access the resources from other platforms, even though these users possess valid attributes. Therefore, this paper proposes a framework that can interoperate by understanding different attribute representation methods among heterogeneous IoT platforms that employ the same ABAC model. Our framework uses self-adaptive modules monitor-analyze-plan-execute over a shared knowledge (MAPE-K) to solve semantic interoperability problems arising from differences in attribute representations, even with valid attributes, enabling access to resources between heterogeneous IoT platforms. © 2024 IEEE.

In anticipation of the 5G-Advanced and 6G era, this paper explores Open RAN as an innovative solution to enhance the existing Radio Access Network (RAN) capabilities, particularly in managing the surge in mobile traffic. The O-RAN Alliance has made significant strides in this domain, particularly by releasing a comprehensive standard document addressing potential security threats and necessary countermeasures within Open RAN frameworks. A critical aspect of these standards is the emphasis on safeguarding the E2 interface-linking the NearRT RIC and RAN nodes-against Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks, with IPsec proposed as a key defensive mechanism. Our study, however, reveals a vulnerability: the E2 interface remains susceptible to ARP spoofing, a variant of MitM attacks. This paper presents detailed simulation results to demonstrate this security flaw and delves into the potential ramifications on the E2 interface's functionality and integrity. Our findings underscore the need for revisiting and reinforcing security protocols in the evolving landscape of Open RAN networks. © 2024 IEEE.

The sewer system plays an important role in protecting rainfall and treating urban *** to the harsh internal environment and complex structure of the sewer,it is difficult to monitor the sewer *** are developing different methods,such as the Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence,to monitor and detect the faults in the sewer *** learning is a promising artificial intelligence technology that can effectively identify and classify different sewer system ***,the existing deep learning based solution does not provide high accuracy prediction and the defect class considered for classification is very small,which can affect the robustness of the model in the constraint *** a result,this paper proposes a sewer condition monitoring framework based on deep learning,which can effectively detect and evaluate defects in sewer pipelines with high *** also introduce a large dataset of sewer defects with 20 different defect classes found in the sewer *** study modified the original RegNet model by modifying the squeeze excitation(SE)block and adding the dropout layer and Leaky Rectified Linear Units(LeakyReLU)activation function in the Block structure of RegNet *** study explored different deep learning methods such as RegNet,ResNet50,very deep convolutional networks(VGG),and GoogleNet to train on the sewer defect *** experimental results indicate that the proposed system framework based on the modified-RegNet(RegNet+)model achieves the highest accuracy of 99.5 compared with the commonly used deep learning *** proposed model provides a robust deep learning model that can effectively classify 20 different sewer defects and be utilized in real-world sewer condition monitoring applications.

User authentication is a promising security solution in which an external user having his/her mobile device can securely access the real-time information directly from the deployed smart devices in an Internet of Things-enabled intelligent precision agricultural environment. To achieve this goal, we present a new signature-based three factor user authentication scheme. The established session key between a user and the accessed smart device is then used to make secure communication among them to fetch the real-time data of the device. A detailed security analysis including the random-oracle based formal security, formal security verification using the broadly recognized automated validation of internet security protocols and applications tool and nonmathematical informal security analysis show the robustness of the proposed scheme against a number of potential attacks. In addition, testbed experiments are performed for measuring computational time of various cryptographic primitives that are used for comparative study among the proposed scheme and other related existing competing schemes. The detailed comparative analysis shows that the proposed scheme has a better trade-off among its offered security and functionality features, and communication and computational overheads as compared with those for other competing schemes. © 2021 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

This paper presents a distributed identifier (DID) system that offers transparent and traceable outsourcing support platform for software development. The proposed system is designed to ensure the privacy of contracting parties during the copyright transfer and license contract process, thereby creating a fair and transparent outsourcing market. By leveraging a DID system, our approach ensures that no single entity controls the information, which increases the overall security and reliability of the system. Also, it reduces corporate losses due to noncompliance with copyright and license contracts. © 2023 IEEE.

As we embrace the dawn of the 5G era, the fusion of Software Defined Network (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies has heralded a new epoch in network architecture. This provides indispensable capabilities and virtualized infrastructure to meet the burgeoning demands of modern networks. Yet, with each stride forward in mobile communication technology, security threats loom larger, casting a shadow over the very fabric of our networks. In this context, identifying and addressing these threats is crucial as it plays a key role in enhancing the security of a 5G-Advanced and a next 6G mobile communication technologies. Therefore, this paper undertakes an investigative journey to explore security threats introduced by SDN/NFV technologies in the 5G-Advanced core networks. Through our simulations, we unveil a need for fortified security technologies within the 5G-Advanced core networks, illuminating a path towards the creation of bespoke datasets tailored for the trends of 5G-Advanced security research. © 2024 IEEE.

As the installation of small cells increases,the use of relay also *** relay operates as a base station as well as just an *** the roles and types of relays become more diverse,appropriate relay selection technology is an effective way to improve communication *** researches for relay selection have been studied to secure the reliability of relay *** this paper,the relay selection scheme is proposed for a cooperative system using decode-and-forward(DF)relaying scheme in the mobile communication *** maintain the transmission rate,the proposed scheme classifies a candidate group considering the outage probability of multiple *** the applicable candidate group,the proposed scheme selects the relay considering the amount of data allocated to each ***,the proposed scheme defines the unit transmission time through each user’s data and relay ***,the proposed scheme selects a relay that minimizes the total transmission time through the relay transmission time that calculates the unit transmission time for all *** this adaptive relay selection scheme,an optimal relay can be assigned for each *** the same transmission rate and the amount of data,the proposed scheme improves the performance of transmission time and *** results show that the proposed scheme reduces the total transmission time for the same amount of data and signal to noise ratio(SNR).

The coronavirus pandemic, which first began in December 2019, has completely changed our daily lives. In particular, daily online digital content consumption over the world has soared since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. For preventing illegal digital content distribution, various technologies have been applied, but current copyright protection technologies are still lacking to provide secure digital content distribution while preserving privacy. In this article, we introduce a new digital content distribution system, which utilizes blockchain-based decentralized identifier and format-preserving encryption to enable user privacy preserved digital content tracking. We present the system architecture with detailed message flows of the proposal and provide its analysis result in terms of security and overhead. © 2022 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
