Depression has the potential to impact death rates, particularly when it comes to death by suicide. Inadequate diagnosis may result in a delay or unsuitable therapy, which can worsen symptoms of depression. Unaddressed or insufficiently addressed depression can result in deteriorating mental well-being, which includes a higher risk of experiencing suicidal ideation and engaging in self-destructive actions. Voice analysis can be employed to distinguish between individuals with depression and those without depression. However, the research that has been conducted on voice recognition to distinguish between depressed and non-depressed individuals keeps focusing on the use of a single dataset source as input for the classification model that is being developed. This work utilizes the Vision Transformer model and various pre-trained transformers, such as DeiT (Data-Efficient Image Transformer) and Swin Transformer, to detect depression based on voice. The objective was to create a more generic model not restricted to a specific language. Integrating Mel-spectrogram characteristics with a vision transformer-based model can enhance the efficacy of voice recognition models when dealing with multi-language data. Flood prediction is one of the most critical challenges facing today's world. Predicting the probable time of a flood and the area that might get affected is the main goal of it, and more so for a region like Sylhet, Bangladesh where transboundary water flows and climate change have increased the risk of disasters. Accurate flood detection plays a vital role in mitigating these impacts by allowing timely early warnings and strategic planning. Recent advancements in flood prediction research include the development of robust, accurate, and low-cost flood models designed for urban deployment. By applying and utilizing powerful deep learning models show promise in improving the accuracy of prediction and prevention. But those models faced significant issues related to scalability, data privacy concerns and limitations of cross-border data sharing including the inaccuracies in prediction models due to changing climate patterns. To address this, our research adopts the Federated Learning (FL) framework in an effort to train state-of-the-art deep learning models like Long Short-Term Memory Recurrent Neural Network (LSTM-RNN), Feed-Forward Neural Network (FNN) and Temporal Fusion Transformer-Convolutional Neural Network (TFT -CNN) on a 78-year dataset of rainfall, river flow, and meteorological variables from Sylhet and its upstream regions in Meghalaya and Assam, India. This approach promotes data privacy and allows collaborative learning while working under cross-border data-sharing constraints, therefore improving the accuracy of prediction. The results showed that the best-performing FNN model achieved an R-squared value of 0.96, a Mean Absolute Error (MAE) value of 0.02, Percent bias (PBIAS) value of 0.4185 and lower Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) in the FL environment. An imbalanced dataset often challenges machine learning, particularly classification methods. Underrepresented minority classes can result in biased and inaccurate models. The Synthetic Minority Over-Sampling Technique (SMOTE) was developed to address the problem of imbalanced data. Over time, several weaknesses of the SMOTE method have been identified in generating synthetic minority class data, such as overlapping, noise, and small disjuncts. However, these studies generally focus on only one of SMOTE’s weaknesses: noise or overlapping. Therefore, this study addresses both issues simultaneously by tackling noise and overlapping in SMOTE-generated data. This study proposes a combined approach of filtering, clustering, and distance modification to reduce noise and overlapping produced by SMOTE. Filtering removes minority class data (noise) located in majority class regions, with the k-nn method applied for filtering. The use of Noise Reduction (NR), which removes data that is considered noise before applying SMOTE, has a positive impact in overcoming data imbalance. Clustering establishes decision boundaries by partitioning data into clusters, allowing SMOTE with modified distance metrics to generate minority class data within each cluster. This SMOTE clustering and distance modification approach aims to minimize overlap in synthetic minority data that could introduce noise. The proposed method is called “NR-Clustering SMOTE,” which has several stages in balancing data: (1) filtering by removing minority classes close to majority classes (data noise) using the k-nn method;(2) clustering data using K-means aims to establish decision boundaries by partitioning data into several clusters;(3) applying SMOTE oversampling with Manhattan distance within each cluster. Different techniques have been developed for object detection and recognition. These techniques can be divided into single-shot and two-shot methods. Single-shot methods focus on real-time applications, while two-shot methods are used in applications requiring higher accuracy. However, different versions of the two-shot techniques produce limited results in terms of accuracy and speed, or both. Therefore, this study proposes a novel model called dynamic generative R-CNN (DGR-CNN) that reduces the number of proposed regions using a dynamic programming model that applies the graph similarity method over graph-based image segmentation. Additionally, the proposed model employs DCGAN technique to improve detection performance. DGR-CNN reduces the overall detection and classification time and enhances the detection accuracy. The PASCAL VOC2007 and MS COCO datasets were utilized to evaluate the model. The results showed that DGR-CNN significantly reduces the number of candidate regions compared to the selective search algorithm employed in R-CNN and fast R-CNN. Although fast R-CNN utilizes 2000 regions and faster R-CNN utilizes 300 regions, DGR-CNN reduces the number of regions to approximately 130. The mean average precision of the proposed method was 75.1% on the PASCAL VOC2007, while fast and faster R-CNN scored 66.9% and 69.9%, respectively. Moreover, the DGR-CNN model significantly improved the classification accuracy when tested on the MS COCO dataset, achieving an MAP of 68.76%, compared with 32.64% and 42.3% for fast and faster R-CNN. The context of recognizing handwritten city names,this research addresses the challenges posed by the manual inscription of Bangladeshi city names in the Bangla *** today’s technology-driven era,where precise tools for reading handwritten text are essential,this study focuses on leveraging deep learning to understand the intricacies of Bangla *** existing dearth of dedicated datasets has impeded the progress of Bangla handwritten city name recognition systems,particularly in critical areas such as postal automation and document ***,no prior research has specifically targeted the unique needs of Bangla handwritten city name *** bridge this gap,the study collects real-world images from diverse sources to construct a comprehensive dataset for Bangla Hand Written City name *** emphasis on practical data for system training enhances *** research further conducts a comparative analysis,pitting state-of-the-art(SOTA)deep learning models,including EfficientNetB0,VGG16,ResNet50,DenseNet201,InceptionV3,and Xception,against a custom Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)model named“Our CNN.”The results showcase the superior performance of“Our CNN,”with a test accuracy of 99.97% and an outstanding F1 score of 99.95%.These metrics underscore its potential for automating city name recognition,particularly in postal *** study concludes by highlighting the significance of meticulous dataset curation and the promising outlook for custom CNN *** encourages future research avenues,including dataset expansion,algorithm refinement,exploration of recurrent neural networks and attention mechanisms,real-world deployment of models,and extension to other regional languages and *** recommendations offer exciting possibilities for advancing the field of handwritten recognition technology and hold practical implications for enhancing global postal services.

Face enhancement aims to improve low-quality face images to a higher-quality level. However, in real-world nighttime scenes, complex degradation factors often affect these images, making it challenging to preserve important facial details. Existing image enhancement algorithms typically focus on independently conducting image super-resolution and brightness enhancement, assuming a fixed degradation level based on simulated training datasets. Nonetheless, real nighttime scenes involve complex degradation processes, where degradation factors dynamically and variably manifest. Therefore, achieving effective face enhancement in such scenarios is particularly daunting. This work analyzes and unveils the multiple factors of low resolution and low illumination during degradation. Based on this analysis, we propose a Bi-factor Degradation Decoupling network. Our method leverages a decoupling network to generate qualitative and quantitative features corresponding to each factor's degradation degree in the low-quality environment. These features are then combined with robust facial feature constraints to recover the details of low-quality faces. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method surpasses state-of-the-art approaches in both enhancement and face super-resolution. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Security risks were raised during the handover of Mobile Nodes (MNs) in the Mobile Internet Protocol version 6 (MIPv6), which were demonstrated in the instigation of route optimization between the MN and its Correspondent Node (CN). The return routability procedure provides a basic security measure for the communication between the MN and CN, but this security scheme still suffers from various weaknesses and loopholes. Thus, various methodologies in securing the handovers for MIPv6 were incorporated in line with the security agreement with authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) infrastructure. This paper proposes an establishment of the Integration Security Authentication System based on the AAA infrastructure to maintain the security level of the fast handover mobility management to provide an improved Quality of Service. Worms are commonly disseminated through two methods: scanning vulnerable machines in a network as well as spreading through topological neighbors. Modeling worm propagation can assist us in understanding how worms propagate and develop efficient defense tactics. However, most past studies either focused on their intended task or explored detection systems as well as defense systems. Few provide very detailed study in worm propagation modeling, that is useful in building defense mechanisms to deal with worm spread. This work includes a survey as well as comparison of worm propagation models based on two independent worm-spreading strategies. We first define worm features based on their spreading behavior and then classify the numerous target discovery approaches they deploy. In addition, we examine several topologies for modeling worm spreading, analyze numerous models of worm propagation and their effectiveness. Global anxiety and depression have become 25% more prevalent, with teenagers and women being the most affected. Approximately 280 million people suffer from depression. Doctors and psychologists are able to diagnose depressive disorders through counselling sessions and ask relevant questions to the subject, despite being vulnerable to mistakes due to the examiner's lack of experience. Therefore, automated depression detection development is necessary to validate doctor and psychiatrist assessment. Electroencephalography (EEG) is considered to be a popular option for the detection and investigation of various mental disorders. In this study, a comparison and analysis of each existing brain wave is carried out, namely Alpha (8-12Hz), Beta (13-30Hz), Theta (4-8 Hz), Delta (0.5-4 Hz) and Gamma (30-50Hz). From each wave, an accuracy testing is carried out for three groups of features: linear features, nonlinear features, and a combination of linear and nonlinear features. The given results demonstrate that the combination of linear and nonlinear data consistently yields the highest accuracy outcomes across all waves. Also, the combination of theta waves and linear nonlinear features contributed the highest accuracy (84%) using LSTM as the classifier. © 2023 IEEE.

Heads-up computing aims to provide synergistic digital assistance that minimally interferes with users' on-the-go daily activities. Currently, the input modalities of heads-up computing are mainly voice and finger gestures. In this work, we propose and evaluate the AmplitudeArrow (AA) technique designed for on-the-go AR menu selection to demonstrate that consecutive simple head gestures can also be an effective input modality for heads-up computing. Specifically, AA arranges menu icons into one/two row(s). To select a target icon, the user first makes their head yaw to pre-select the target icon or the column containing it and then makes their head pitch to make the arrow in the target icon expand until the arrow covers the target icon completely, i.e., the pitch amplitude surpasses the selection confirmation threshold.
