Evaluating student performance is important for universities and institutions in the current student education landscape because it helps them create models that work better for students. The automation of various features related to fundamental student traits and behaviours that manage massive amounts of data efficiently processes these. To handle student records that included information about students' behaviour and how it related to their academic performance, the companies employed models of classification with mining concepts. Additionally, the quality of result classification can be substantially improved by using learning analytics and Educational Data Mining (EDM). The educational establishments are making an effort to lower the low student performance. To address this issue, numerous methods for assessing student performance have been devised, allowing the relevant faculties to intervene and enhance the final product. Three classes—Low Performance Student, Average Student, and Smart Student—were created using the K-Mean Clustering methodology for classifying student records. Features including grade point, number of deficits, student attendance, medium of education, and board of education are taken into account when classifying the data. In this case, the WEKA tool is also utilized for implementing the model and outcome assessments.

The bipolar fuzzy set and interval-valued bipolar fuzzy set efficiently analyse real-world problems where for each input of an object, there has counter information. This study's main objective is to lay a foundation for considering a new approach to the bipolar fuzzy hybrid operators tool applied in a realistic frame that contains uncertainties. In this view, some mixed aggregation operators, namely, the hybrid bipolar fuzzy weighted averaging geometric (H-BFWAG), hybrid bipolar fuzzy order weighted averaging geometric (H-BFOWAG), hybrid interval-valued bipolar fuzzy weighted averaging geometric (H-IVBFWAG), and hybrid interval-valued bipolar fuzzy order weighted averaging geometric (H-IVBFOWAG) operators are generated in bipolar fuzzy environment. A decision making approach is developed to build the multi-criteria decision making model. A numerical example is considered to study the different effects on various Indian economic sectors in the COVID-19 environment. Managerial implications are highlighted in between many industrial sectors on which the Indian economy depends and the country's gross domestic product depends on their inter-relationship. This study investigates COVID-19's impact on society and the economy in the Indian context. A comparative investigation is introduced with some pre-existing operators and the TOPSIS (technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution) approach to justify the proposed method. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

A multiobjective multi-item inventory control problem in fuzzy-rough environment using soft computing techniques

The optimal production and advertising policies for an inventory control system of multi-item multiobjective problem under a single management are formulated as an optimal control problem with resource constraints under inflation and discounting in fuzzy rough (Fu-Ro) environment. The objectives and constraints in Fu-Ro are made deterministic using fuzzy rough expected values method (EVM). Here, the production and advertisement rates are unknown and considered as control (decision) variables. The production, advertisement, and demand rates are functions of time t. Maximization of the total proceed from perfect and imperfect units and minimization of the total cost consisting of production, holding, and advertisement costs are formulated as optimal control problems and solved directly using multiobjective genetic algorithm (MOGA). In another method for solution, membership functions of the objectives are derived and the multi-objective problems are transformed to a single objective by the convex combination of the membership functions and then the problem is solved by generalized reduced gradient (GRG) method. Finally, numerical experiment and graphical representation are provided to illustrate the system. © 2014 Dipak Kumar Jana et al.

The increasing prevalence of botnet attacks in IoT networks has led to the development of deep learning techniques for their detection. However, conventional centralized deep learning models pose challenges in simultaneously ensuring user data privacy and detecting botnet attacks. To address this issue, this study evaluates the efficacy of Federated Learning (FL) in detecting IoT malware traffic while preserving user privacy. The study employs N-BaIoT, a dataset of real-world IoT network traffic infected by malware, and compares the effectiveness of FL models using Convolutional Neural Network, Long Short-Term Memory, and Gated Recurrent Unit models with a centralized approach. The results indicate that FL can achieve high performance in detecting abnormal traffic in IoT networks, with the CNN model yielding the best results among the three models evaluated. The study recommends the use of FL for IoT malware traffic detection due to its ability to preserve data privacy. © 2024 Global IT Research Institute - GIRI.

This research focuses on hyperparameter optimization for LSTM to forecast SARS-CoV-2 infection cases in the Russian Federation, aiming to determine the best combination of parameters for a well-fitting model. Using LSTM’s capability to analyze relationships within time series data, a bidirectional LSTM-based method is introduced for predicting daily infection cases. The study evaluates nearly 10 unique forecasting models and conducts a comprehensive analysis and comparison of their results. The Bidirectional LSTM model proves to be a reliable approach for forecasting daily SARS-CoV-2 infection cases in Russia, displaying the highest prediction accuracy among the tested models.

Attackers are perpetually modifying their tactics to avoid detection and frequently leverage legitimate credentials with trusted tools already deployed in a network environment, making it difficult for organizations to proactively identify critical security risks. Network traffic analysis products have emerged in response to attackers’ relentless innovation, offering organizations a realistic path forward for combatting creative attackers. Additionally, thanks to the widespread adoption of cloud computing, Device Operators (DevOps) processes, and the Internet of Things (IoT), maintaining effective network visibility has become a highly complex and overwhelming process. What makes network traffic analysis technology particularly meaningful is its ability to combine its core capabilities to deliver malicious intent detection. In this paper, we propose a novel darknet traffic analysis and network management framework to real-time automating the malicious intent detection process, using a weight agnostic neural networks architecture. It is an effective and accurate computational intelligent forensics tool for network traffic analysis, the demystification of malware traffic, and encrypted traffic identification in real-time. Based on Weight Agnostic Neural Networks (WANNs) methodology, we propose an automated searching neural net architectures strategy that can perform various tasks such as identify zero-day attacks. By automating the malicious intent detection process from the darknet, the advanced proposed solution is reducing the skills and effort barrier that prevents many organizations from effectively protecting their most critical assets. In this paper, we introduce an approach via regularization and Homotopy way for resolving the inverse Cauchy problem of the Laplace of system partial differential equation which appears in the wave propagation for communication networks. We considered the method of Homotopy Perturbation Metheod (HPM) for solving the integral equations of the first kind named Fredholm. In order to formulate the Laplace equation into the first-kind integral equation (Fredholm) the Fourier series used. Then the discretization method used to reduce the integral equation into a linear operator equation for the first kind. It is clear that this kind of problem is callsified as an ill-posed and the direct way to solve it unacceptably. Tikhonov’s regularization method with Homotopy Perturbation algorithm used for obtaing the approximation solution for the Laplace differential equation. Finally, the numerical example is proposed.

time series Due to better algorithms, more accessible data, and higher computing power over the past ten years, forecasting has become more popular. It is used in a variety of industries, including as financial time series, weather forecasting, and medical diagnostics. In this study, we provide a model of the mechanism governing attention, which enables attended input to be provided to the model in place of actual input. In order for the model to produce more precise predictions, it seeks to demonstrate a fresh perspective on the data. The experiments were conducted with the (encoder-decoder) LSTM model as well to demonstrate the usefulness and superiority of the suggested strategy. The obtained results demonstrate that, when compared to the (encoder-decoder) LSTM base model, the proposed approach could reduce the mean square error (RMSE=9819.05), relative root mean square error (RRMSE=99.09), and coefficient of determination (R Square=0.96). The obtained results support the suggested approach’s efficacy, superiority, and importance in predicting SARS-CoV-2 infection cases.

Development the Numerical Method to Solve the Inverse Initial Value Problem for the Thermal Conductivity Equation of Composite Materials

In this paper, the heat conduction equation for composite materials posed and solved. This problem is known as an inverse initial value problem for the heat conduction equation. In order to solve and formulate this inverse problem, the function spaces must be defined and represented. By studying and solving the direct problem for the heat equation in composite materials, it is possible to determine the function spaces and solve the inverse initial value problem. Scientific methods used: the separation of variables method used to solve the direct problem for the heat equation. It found that method separation of variables does not completely lead to the solution of the inverse initial value problem, since this method leads to a divergent series of solutions and rather massive errors. The heat conduction problem can be formulated as Fredholm integral first kind equations. The discretization algorithm applied to reformulated the problem as linear operator problem as matrix and vectors form. Then, Tikhonov's regularization inversion method has been used to find an approximation solution. Finally, as shown in the numerical example the regularized approximate solutions obtained.
