Optimistic versioning is a key component in supporting collaborative workflows. Text-based versioning has been widely adopted for versioning code, but in model-driven engineering, dealing with visual concrete syntaxes, new methods are required. In the case of blended modeling, a mixture of both textual and visual syntaxes, concurrently editable and synchronizable, introduces additional challenges. We propose a type of operation-based versioning to record not only user edits, but also bi-directional change propagations between concrete and abstract syntax. This way we can support blended modeling with layout continuity, and flexible handling of missing information (e. g., layout information) when rendering changes from abstract to concrete syntax. In addition, the proposed versioning approach enables collaborative conflict resolution by allowing partial conflict resolution, thus deferring a final resolution. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors. The article proposes a method of zero-watermarking for colored RGB bitmap images. This algorithm can be used to protect property rights to multimedia resources in which it is impossible to use ordinary watermarks due to the impossibility of changing the image (such as medical data where high accuracy is required and the appearance of artifacts is unacceptable) or due to the presence of a higher distortion of the container. This algorithm is based on DWT, SVD and operations in the field by modulo 256. The software implementation of the algorithm was developed (using the Accord and *** libraries to implement DWT, SVD). The software implementation of the algorithm was tested. This algorithm has advantages in the form of normalization of the average error, but it needs further research to improve its performance.

The widespread integration of robotic technology across diverse sector’s necessitates solutions that embody both adaptability and speed. However, existing systems often exhibit a trade-off between these attributes, lacking swift adaptability. This paper introduces a novel self-reconfiguration system that addresses this challenge. Employing a scissor mechanism for rapid adjustment and an intelligent binocular vision driven by computer vision and reinforcement learning algorithms, the proposed system facilitates swift reconfiguration while effectively managing workload. Real-time perception and understanding of the surroundings enable the robot to promptly identify optimal dimensions and adjust its configuration accordingly. This capability empowers the robot to rapidly respond to new tasks without manual intervention, thereby augmenting its versatility and agility. Experimental validation demonstrates the system’s adeptness in navigating passages of varying widths in under a second, underscoring the efficacy of our approach in training the robot to adeptly adapt to diverse environmental conditions.

In this paper, we explored approaches that improve the performance of ensemble bagging classifiers for identifying the state of a computer system. The following algorithms are considered: Ensemble pruning, Advanced Voting Algorithms, Dynamic Voting Strategies, Confidence Calibration, Adaptation through Meta-Features and Meta-Learning, which allow improving the voting procedure of the bagging meta-algorithm. Artificial data was generated as initial data, which complicates the classification task and contains an increased amount of noise. In the Google Collab environment, software models of algorithms have been developed, and their quality has been assessed. It was found that the use of the Ensemble pruning and Adaptation through Meta-Features algorithm is the most qualitative. In addition, the Ensemble pruning algorithm reduces the number of basic ensemble classifiers, and, as a result, increases the efficiency of computer system identification. Based on the results of the study, a method for identifying a computer system was proposed through the integrated use of a bagging classifier and an optimization procedure based on the Ensemble pruning algorithm.

This research introduces a novel approach, MBO-NB, that leverages Migrating Birds Optimization (MBO) coupled with Naive Bayes as an internal classifier to address feature selection challenges in text classification having large number of features. Focusing on computational efficiency, we preprocess raw data using the Information Gain algorithm, strategically reducing the feature count from an average of 62221 to 2089. Our experiments demonstrate MBO-NB's superior effectiveness in feature reduction compared to other existing techniques, emphasizing an increased classification accuracy. The successful integration of Naive Bayes within MBO presents a well-rounded solution. In individual comparisons with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), MBO-NB consistently outperforms by an average of 6.9% across four setups. This research offers valuable insights into enhancing feature selection methods, providing a scalable and effective solution for text classification. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

The development of multi-cloud systems with an acceptable level of service delays that significantly affect the quality of the end-users experience is an open research problem, for which simulation is successfully used. This paper proposes a simulation model in Matlab for estimating the time to write data updates initiated by the end-users to the databases of all cloud service providers for a multi-cloud system with a geo-distributed middleware that implements, as an example, the VIP-grab data consistency protocol. The simulation results indicate that our model can be useful in choosing a data consistency protocol that influences the architecture of a multicloud system. © 2022 IEEE.

Lithium-ion battery production is generally geared towards current demand from the main sectors: electric vehicles, consumer electronics, and energy storage. These sectors typically require the batteries to be as fresh as possible to ensure maximum lifespan and performance. Still, sometimes manufacturers work with buffer stocks and deliver batteries from different production series. In this context, the present paper examines stored batteries' capacity loss, employing an exhaustive statistical study. This study aims to establish if the capacity loss is statistically significant and can lead to battery pack unbalances. © 2023 IEEE.

Background: In this Innovative Practice Work in Progress, we present our initial efforts to integrate formal methods, with a focus on model-checking specifications written in Temporal Logic of Actions $(\text{TLA}^{+})$ , into computer science education, targeting undergraduate juniors/seniors and graduate students. Many safety-critical systems and services crucially depend on correct and reliable behavior. Formal methods can play a key role in ensuring correct and safe system behavior, yet remain underutilized in educational and industry contexts. Aims: We aim to (1) qualitatively assess the state of formal methods in computer science programs, (2) construct level-appropriate examples that could be included midway into one's undergraduate studies, (3) demonstrate how to address successive “failuresy” through progressively stringent safety and liveness requirements, and (4) establish an ongoing framework for assessing interest and relevance among students. Methods: We detail our pedagogical strategy for embedding $\text { TLA }^{+}$ into an intermediate course on formal methods at our institution. After starting with a refresher on mathematical logic, students specify the rules of simple puzzles in $\text { TLA }^{+}$ and use its included model checker (known as TLC) to find a solution. We gradually escalate to more complex, dynamic, event-driven systems, such as the control logic of a microwave oven, where students will study safety and liveness requirements. We subsequently discuss explicit concurrency, along with thread safety and deadlock avoidance, by modeling bounded counters and buffers. Results: Our initial findings suggest that through careful curricular design and choice of examples and tools, it is possible to inspire and cultivate a new generation of software engineers proficient in formal methods. Interval type-2 fuzzy sets are often used in the designing of fuzzy systems associated with the speed control under uncertainty. In this paper, we consider the possibilities of using interval type-2 fuzzy sets to describing the uncertainties that arise when defining input variables. These uncertainties can be presented as the different meanings on the same dynamic system or changes in the technical parameters that occur due to external factors. We also present complex interval type-2 fuzzy sets and give the examples of their use to reduce the number of fuzzy sets and rules in a fuzzy knowledge base. The necessary conditions for the construction of complex interval type-2 fuzzy sets and methods for determining lower and upper membership functions in them are also given. The footprint of uncertainty for the complex interval type-2 fuzzy set is presented with upper and lower membership functions of different fuzzy sets. All methods which are described in this work can be used in decision support systems design, to select the optimal parameters of a nonlinear system, or in fuzzy speed controller design. © 2021 IEEE.

For several years, traffic congestion has been a major problem in big cities where the number of cars and different means of transportation has been increasing significantly. The problem of congestion is becoming more and more critical, and if not treated smartly this issue will negatively affect drivers by wasting time and fuel gas while waiting for hours in lanes. This paper presents a new and smart way to mitigate this issue in an affordable cost, minimum processing power, and low power consumption. This concept takes into consideration the majority of the cases that may cause congestion and presents a smart and accurate outputs to ease traffic flow leading to the prediction of the peak hours of traffic congestion for smarter control. A model is designed to study the case of a four lanes crossroad with two traffic lights and two LCD monitors. The strategy in reading data is divided into two parts: real data from sensors and pre collected data from google maps to create a kind of a predicted pattern over a certain time interval. The responsiveness of the system is analyzed thoroughly, and the accuracy of all possible cases is carefully considered and evaluated. Each part of the system was tested alone, and the overall system is still in an ongoing testing phase. The results have shown minimum faulty errors and accepted outputs that can lead to safe traffic control decisions. Finally, integrating more IoT devices and sensors between V2V, V2P, V2I with the help of artificial intelligence will definitely optimize this system with higher accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.
