The Paper focuses on analysing neural network models that are used for semantically classifying tabular customer datasets. Additionally, we propose a custom neural network architecture to analyze tabular datasets and enable the model to extract and comprehend the underlying semantics within the data. The research focuses on three distinct neural network models: CharCNN, Bi-LSTM, and CNN+Bi-LSTM. Through comprehensive evaluation based on accuracy, and confidence scores of the models' performance, we determined that Bi-LSTM proved to be the best fit for this approach and dataset. The findings suggest that the custom CHAR-CNN model can be effective in classifying tabular data and can potentially be applied on various datasets considering both computational time and accuracy. This research contributes to the advancement in the field of semantic analysis for tabular dataset, opening avenues for further research on how to handle different kinds of Tabular datasets and enhancement of semantic models in NLP. © 2024 IEEE.

Extremist view detection in social networks is an emerging area of research. Several attempts have been made to extremist views detection on social media. However, there is a scarcity of publicly available annotated corpora that can be used for learning and prediction. Also, there is no consensus on what should be recognized as an extremist view. In the absence of such a description, the accurate annotation of extremist views becomes a formidable task. To that end, this study has made three key contributions. Firstly, we have developed a clear understanding of extremist views by synthesizing their definitions and descriptions in the academic literature, as well as in practice. Secondly, a benchmark extremist view detection corpus (XtremeView-22) is developed. Finally, baseline experiments are performed using six machine learning techniques to evaluate their effectiveness for extremist view detection. The results show that bigrams are the most effective feature and Naive Bayes is the most effective technique to identify extremist views in social media text. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Distributionally robust reinforcement learning (DRRL), often framed as a robust Markov decision process (RMDP), seeks to find a robust policy that achieves good performance under the worst-case scenario among all environments within a prespecified uncertainty set centered around the training environment. Unlike previous work, which relies on a generative model or a pre-collected offline dataset enjoying good coverage of the deployment environment, we tackle robust RL via interactive data collection, where the learner interacts with the training environment only and refines the policy through trial and error. In this robust RL paradigm, two main challenges emerge: managing the distributional robustness while striking a balance between exploration and exploitation during data collection. Initially, we establish that sample-efficient learning without additional assumptions is unattainable owing to the curse of support shift;i.e., the potential disjointedness of the distributional supports between training and testing environments. To circumvent such a hardness result, we introduce the vanishing minimal value assumption to RMDPs with a total-variation distance robust set, postulating that the minimal value of the optimal robust value function is zero. Such an assumption effectively eliminates the support shift issue for RMDPs with a TV distance robust set, and we present an algorithm with a provable sample complexity guarantee. Our work makes the initial step to uncovering the inherent difficulty of robust RL via interactive data collection and sufficient conditions for sample-efficient algorithms with sharp sample complexity. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. Deepfake technology has become increasingly sophisticated and poses a growing threat to society, as it can be used to create convincing fake videos for malicious purposes. Therefore, detecting deepfakes has become crucial to ensure the authenticity of visual content. This paper proposes a novel deepfake detection approach that utilizes InceptionResNetV2 for feature extraction and Vision Transformer (ViT) with Nyström Attention mechanism for classification. Our model achieves high accuracy, AUC, precision, and recall on the CelebDFv2 dataset and outperforms state-of-the-art techniques like EfficientNet, XceptionNet, and ResNet. We also perform evaluations on the CelebDFv1 and DFDC datasets. Furthermore, we conduct a comprehensive literature survey to highlight the existing research in deepfake detection. We provide a roadmap for future work in this field, highlighting potential research directions that can further improve the effectiveness and applicability of deepfake detection models. The proposed model shows great potential for real-world applications, and the suggested future work can help to address some of the remaining challenges in this area. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The world's main grain crop is rice (Oryza sativa). It provides the majority of the world's population with nourishment and energy. Numerous rice leaf diseases are a major threat to the world's agricultural output because they deteriorate crop quality in addition to lowering crop yield. Traditional methods of classifying and managing diseases mostly rely on laborious and subjective manual examination procedures. However, recent advancements in computer vision methods have made it possible to construct automated systems that can recognize illnesses from picture and video data. The paper emphasizes the potential application of cutting-edge models like Detectron2 to address issues with agricultural leaf disease detection. Together with other cutting-edge models, Detectron2 provides a promising means of enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of disease diagnosis and control techniques. The use of automated disease detection systems holds the potential to reduce subjectivity in the evaluation of illnesses, optimize the allocation of resources in agriculture, and reduce dependence on human labour. These systems are able to continually learn from and adapt to changing disease patterns by incorporating complex algorithms and machine learning techniques, ensuring robust and stable agricultural operations. © 2024 IEEE.

With the development of hardware devices and the upgrading of smartphones,a large number of users save privacy-related information in mobile devices,mainly smartphones,which puts forward higher demands on the protection of mobile users’privacy *** present,mobile user authenticationmethods based on humancomputer interaction have been extensively studied due to their advantages of high precision and non-perception,but there are still shortcomings such as low data collection efficiency,untrustworthy participating nodes,and lack of *** this end,this paper proposes a privacy-enhanced mobile user authentication method with motion sensors,which mainly includes:(1)Construct a smart contract-based private chain and federated learning to improve the data collection efficiency of mobile user authentication,reduce the probability of the model being bypassed by attackers,and reduce the overhead of data centralized processing and the risk of privacy leakage;(2)Use certificateless encryption to realize the authentication of the device to ensure the credibility of the client nodes participating in the calculation;(3)Combine Variational Mode Decomposition(VMD)and Long Short-TermMemory(LSTM)to analyze and model the motion sensor data of mobile devices to improve the accuracy of model *** experimental results on the real environment dataset of 1513 people show that themethod proposed in this paper can effectively resist poisoning attacks while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of mobile user authentication.

Nail denting or crumbling may result from nail psoriasis. A nail condition known as psoriatic onychodystrophy or psoriatic nails. Psoriasis sufferers frequently experience it;reported occurrences range from 10% to 78%. Psoriatic nails are more common in the elderly and in people with psoriatic arthritis. By examining the nails on a human hand, numerous illnesses can be found early in the diagnosing process. The nail color of an individual can help in the diagnosis of specific medical disorders. In this case, the recommended method results in the decision-making process for sickness diagnosis. The system is fed by human nail art. The technique recognizes nail features unique to a given condition by analyzing images of nails. The suggested technique makes advantage of the various distinctive characteristics of human nails to detect illness by changing the colour of the nails. The first training set data, which is derived from an image of a patient's nails with a particular ailment, is handled by the Weka tool. To get the desired results, the feature discoveries of the picture are compared to the training dataset. The distortion of the nail unit is known as nail disease. Nail units have their own disease class due to their own indications, symptoms, causes, and consequences, which may or may not be related to other medical disorders. Nail problems are still difficult and ambiguous to identify. A novel machine learning method for recognising and classifying nail problems from photographs is presented in this study. This framework combines CNN models with data mining techniques to extract characteristics. This research was also contrasted with certain other province algorithms (Support vector, ANN, K - nearest neighbors, and RF) evaluated on datasets and showed positive results. The most common and general medium via which we humans convey or communicate our thoughts, emotions, feelings or ideas artlessly is by speech or articulation. Blending of this artless way of speech with the technological advancements of AI, has given rise to the importance of building emotion recognition systems from speech today. Even more, the speech/articulation emotion recognition system presented here is also to contribute in and facilitate various emerging applications of today like, in detecting persons' physiological state (as in lie detectors), also be used in forensics, medicine. The proposed work identifies/associates an appropriate label/emotion for the respective emotion from speech presented in the form of an audio file (.wav format). About 4240 audio samples are taken. 1440, 2800 samples from RAVDESS and TESS datasets are considered respectively. After this process of data collection, features are separately extracted for each audio dataset mentioned above. Energy, pitch, ZCR, co-efficient of Mel frequency ceptrum (MFCC) are some of the features considered in this study. Furthermore, clubbing and merging of 2 datasets is performed resulting in a total of 4240 rows and 24 columns (features/characteristics including 1class label) of audio samples. The resulting 4240 samples of feature dataset is split/bifurcated into training and testing set by considering 3 different possibilities/instances viz;60%-40% ratio, 70%-30% ratio, 80%-30% ratio. The models namely CNN, Random forest and Support Vector Machine are trained to classify the dataset into 8 different emotions (neutral, calm, happy, sad, angry, fearful, disgust, surprise). An attempt to implement the models using two very essential disciplines of AI i.e. Machine Learning and Deep Learning is made here. The accuracy or results are depicted by generating confusion matrices on test data for CNN, RF and SVM models (Each model is trained and test across 3 different ratios viz;60%-40%, 70%-30%, 80%-20%). Medical image segmentation is crucial for diagnosis and treatment planning. While recent advancements in deep learning, particularly UNet variants, have improved segmentation performance, they often result in increased model complexity, which limits their real-time applicability on resource-constrained devices in clinical settings. To address this challenge, we present the Tiny Efficient U-Net (TE-UNet), a novel lightweight model balancing efficiency and accuracy. TE-UNet uses a U-shaped encoder-decoder framework with a gated linear attention mechanism to process low-level and high-level features, preserving details and reducing complexity. It employs depth-wise separable convolutions for higher-level processing, enhancing efficiency without losing performance. Additionally, skip connections improve multi-scale feature extraction and information flow. Experiments on two public datasets across different modalities demonstrate that TE-UNet outperforms ten state-of-the-art methods, maintaining a parameter size under 40KB and low computational cost. TE-UNet makes real-time segmentation more accessible for various clinical applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Gaze estimation is one of the most promising technologies for supporting indoor monitoring and interaction ***,previous gaze estimation techniques generally work only in a controlled laboratory environment because they require a number of high-resolution eye *** makes them unsuitable for welfare and healthcare facilities with the following challenging characteristics:1)users’continuous movements,2)various lighting conditions,and 3)a limited amount of available *** address these issues,we introduce a multi-view multi-modal head-gaze estimation system that translates the user’s head orientation into the gaze *** proposed system captures the user using multiple cameras with depth and infrared modalities to train more robust gaze estimators under the aforementioned *** this end,we implemented a deep learning pipeline that can handle different types and combinations of *** proposed system was evaluated using the data collected from 10 volunteer participants to analyze how the use of single/multiple cameras and modalities affect the performance of head-gaze *** various experiments,we found that 1)an infrared-modality provides more useful features than a depth-modality,2)multi-view multi-modal approaches provide better accuracy than singleview single-modal approaches,and 3)the proposed estimators achieve a high inference efficiency that can be used in real-time applications.
