One of the primary organ is the skin. It protects and separates humans from various dangers. Nevertheless, the skin is susceptible to damage and can develop pigmented lesions. Manual classification of Pigmented Skin Lesions(PSL) is a major challenge due to availability and bias of physician, time consuming, invasive methods are painful and with elevated expenses. To overcome this, in this paper, two automated computer vision based approaches (using and without using dimensionality reduction) are employed by modelling multi-deep features using Support Vector Machine(SVM) for classification of PSL. The suggested system comprises of two operational stages. Initially, the performance of six Convolutional Neural Network models (VGG16, VGG19, AlexNet, Xception, ResNet50, and EfficientB3) in deep feature extraction and three types of hand-crafted features extraction methods (HOG, LBP, and SIFT) employing SVM are evaluated. The top three CNN models (AlexNet, ResNet50, and EfficientB3) based on accuracy are used to form binary and ternary early fusion hybrid models to classify the skin lesions. In the second stage, combining multiple CNN models resulted in increased dimensionality and number of features. These features are then classified using SVM once in the higher dimension and again by reducing the dimensionality by applying Principal Component Analysis(PCA). The accuracies of the combined models are then compared. It is observed that the ternary early fusion model with SVM (Alexnet+Resnet50+EfficientB3-SVM) produces the highest accuracy of 82.22% with higher number of features whereas the same model while using PCA produces the accuracy of 81.57%. Consequently, the findings indicate the suggested techniques are useful for classification of PSL. © 2024 IEEE.

The primary aim of identifying the binding motifs in gene regulation is to understand the transcriptional regulation molecular mechanism systematically. In this study, the (, d) motif search issue was considered which entails finding the length motifs which differ by at most d substitutions. However, identifying the high-quality pattern (, d) is challenging. It is intended to address the above problem with motif discovery and handle it using the proposed algorithm S2F (Segmentation to Filtration) based on the qPMS (quorum Planted Motif Search) algorithm model. From the entire DNA sequences, five percent are chosen at random to be used in the motif discovery process. This random sub segment (subseg) portion is split up into base, sub k-mers, and its sizes (motif length ()) are determined by the iterative approach. Corresponding to the sizes of and d (mutations), the k-mers are chosen which participated in filtration techniques and the base k-mer count and frequency are updated. The highest frequency of k-mer is recognized as the motif. The algorithm’s performance was evaluated using the two real datasets Escherichia coli cyclic AMP receptor protein (CRP) and mouse Embryonic Stem Cell (mESC) ChIP-seq (Chromatin Immuno Precipitation) dataset. Results from the experiments show that S2F can identify the motifs and appear faster compared to previous state-of-the-art PMS (Planted Motif Search) and qPMS algorithms. Deepfake technology has become increasingly sophisticated and poses a growing threat to society, as it can be used to create convincing fake videos for malicious purposes. Therefore, detecting deepfakes has become crucial to ensure the authenticity of visual content. This paper proposes a novel deepfake detection approach that utilizes InceptionResNetV2 for feature extraction and Vision Transformer (ViT) with Nyström Attention mechanism for classification. Our model achieves high accuracy, AUC, precision, and recall on the CelebDFv2 dataset and outperforms state-of-the-art techniques like EfficientNet, XceptionNet, and ResNet. We also perform evaluations on the CelebDFv1 and DFDC datasets. Furthermore, we conduct a comprehensive literature survey to highlight the existing research in deepfake detection. We provide a roadmap for future work in this field, highlighting potential research directions that can further improve the effectiveness and applicability of deepfake detection models. The proposed model shows great potential for real-world applications, and the suggested future work can help to address some of the remaining challenges in this area. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Detectability of hierarchical communities in networks

We study the problem of recovering a planted hierarchy of partitions in a network. The detectability of a single planted partition has previously been analyzed in detail and a phase transition has been identified below which the partition cannot be detected. Here we show that, in the hierarchical setting, there exist additional phases in which the presence of multiple consistent partitions can either help or hinder detection. Accordingly, the detectability limit for nonhierarchical partitions typically provides insufficient information about the detectability of the complete hierarchical structure, as we highlight with several constructive examples.

Preprocessing constraint satisfaction problems is a much studied method for improving the performance of subsequent solution search. The traditional explanation for its beneficial effects is "problem reduction", where possible values that cannot take part in a solution are discarded, leaving fewer possibilities to explore during search. Here, we show that this is not the only or even the main factor when dynamic variable ordering heuristics are used. Multiple lines of evidence indicate that under these conditions domain reductions effected by preprocessing serve to inform the heuristic as to which variables should be chosen for instantiation before others. It is suggested that an information transmission model is needed to account for such effects, and it is argued that an extension of this approach can incorporate simple domain reduction effects as well. © 2023, The Author(s).

The goal of this project is to draw a deeper understanding of the subjective nature behind online product reviews, largely by examining a large dataset received from Amazon that contains numerous star ratings and comments. Since there is such a massive amount of data on the Amazon platform, it was perfect for the analysis. Our methodology is platform-agnostic and can be easily extended to other comparable datasets from other web platforms with comparable guarantees in achieving wide applicability. Our primary motivation is improving the dependability of online shopping. Since product reviews are currently widely used by many consumers as guides in making decisions to buy products, such reviews ought to be fair representations of the actual dependability and quality of the products. The goal of our effort is to identify patterns in the language and ratings of such reviews that would directly reflect the real customer sentiment and also the reliability of the product. Our approach has yielded already a rate of about 92%, which shows it has the potential greatly to raise the legitimacy of online reviews. We'd like to make our customers feel more confident and better equipped with information to make better and safer purchases on a website like Amazon and others. In the final analysis, we strive to make online shopping for our customers worldwide safer and more trustworthy. © 2024 IEEE.

Innovative technology solutions have been developed in response to the growing need for effective and customized client contact on e-commerce platforms. This work introduces an intelligent chatbot system that uses machine learning and text mining techniques to improve user satisfaction and answer customer concerns. Advanced Natural Language Processing (NLP) models have been trained on large datasets, allowing for precise user intent interpretation and pertinent product recommendations. A strong recommendation engine is included into the system architecture to aid in decision-making, ultimately enhancing the customer experience by providing individualized, real-time help. The system's scalability and performance benefits are highlighted through thorough comparisons with current models. The basis of this project is to investigate whether the YOLO, an object detection algorithm where 'You Only Look Once' constitutes the name, could be applied to develop FMCG management;together with the management of FMCG, it becomes the gateway to increasing retail precision, efficiency, and agility. Under real-time processing, the system detects and counts FMCG products on retail shelves with an accuracy rate of 92.5%. This accuracy ensures that the optimum stock levels are maintained and there will be no discrepancies. The system processes video feeds at 0.08 seconds per frame, thus allowing inventory data to be updated in real-time to enable quick, data-driven decisions. YOLO's flexibility ensures consistent performance across different store layouts and product types. This system integrates with other retail management tools and allows integrating inventory data in the real time. This means that it would be made available with invaluable insights which would prevent stock depletion while helping to curtail costs. This project takes YOLO ahead of just being a game changer in the FMCG inventory management while operating to reduce expenses and customer satisfaction due to product availability. © 2024 IEEE.

The surging popularity of online movie databases has created a challenge for viewers: choosing a film from a massive library can be overwhelming. In this paper, it proposes to design a new hybrid movie recommendation powered by machine learning techniques as a solution to improve user experience. Among those techniques, two are combined into this paper: content-based filtering, using the real features of a movie such as genre and a director, and collaborative filtering, which uses the rating provided by users. This hybrid approach thus improves the intrinsic weaknesses that reside in both these methods individually. On the other hand, content-based filtering tends to reduce exploration to movies of the exact type one is doing well at, whereas, inversely, collaborative filtering settings often mean that a user will be exposed only to films within his or her already-recognized taste profile. It is expected that the proposed hybrid system will solve both problems by balancing this line between exploring familiar cinematic territory and making new recommendations based on both user preferences and the entire collective intelligence of the user base. The approach would aim to enrich user satisfaction by facilitating the selection of movies and providing a richer and more diversified movie-viewing experience. © 2024 IEEE.
