Generative AI (GenAI) is driving the intelligence of wireless communications. Due to data limitations, random generation, and dynamic environments, GenAI may generate channel information or optimization strategies that violate physical laws or deviate from actual real-world requirements. We refer to this phenomenon as wireless hallucination, which results in invalid channel information, spectrum wastage, and low communication reliability but remains underexplored. To address this gap, this article provides a comprehensive concept of wireless hallucinations in GenAI-driven communications, focusing on hallucination mitigation. Specifically, we first introduce the fundamental, analyze its causes based on the GenAI workflow, and propose mitigation solutions at the data, model, and post-generation levels. Then, we systematically examines representative hallucination scenarios in GenAI-enabled communications and their corresponding solutions. Finally, we propose a novel integrated mitigation solution for GenAI-based channel estimation. At the data level, we establish a channel estimation hallucination dataset and employ generative adversarial networks (GANs)-based data augmentation. Additionally, we incorporate attention mechanisms and large language models (LLMs) to enhance both training and inference performance. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid solutions reduce the normalized mean square error (NMSE) by 0.19, effectively reducing wireless hallucinations. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have emerged as the potential aerial base stations (BSs) to improve terrestrial communications. However, the limited onboard energy and antenna power of a UAV restrict its communication range and transmission capability. To address these limitations, this work employs collaborative beamforming through a UAV-enabled virtual antenna array to improve transmission performance from the UAV to terrestrial mobile users, under interference from non-associated BSs and dynamic channel conditions. Specifically, we introduce a memory-based random walk model to more accurately depict the mobility patterns of terrestrial mobile users. Following this, we formulate a multi-objective optimization problem (MOP) focused on maximizing the transmission rate while minimizing the flight energy consumption of the UAV swarm. Given the NP-hard nature of the formulated MOP and the highly dynamic environment, we transform this problem into a multi-objective Markov decision process and propose an improved evolutionary multi-objective reinforcement learning algorithm. Specifically, this algorithm introduces an evolutionary learning approach to obtain the approximate Pareto set for the formulated MOP. Moreover, the algorithm incorporates a long short-term memory network and hyper-sphere-based task selection method to discern the movement patterns of terrestrial mobile users and improve the diversity of the obtained Pareto set. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively generates a diverse range of non-dominated policies and outperforms existing methods. Additional simulations demonstrate the scalability and robustness of the proposed CB-based method under different system parameters and various unexpected circumstances. © 2025, CC0.

Semi-supervised semantic segmentation pursues a holistic pixel-wise understanding of unseen images with limited annotation. To this end, existing methods focus on regularizing per-pixel prediction consistency within unlabeled data, while rarely modeling contextual relationships. But in fact, contextual semantics can provide valuable clues for scene understanding like inner-object continuity and spatial relationships' causality. Thus, in this paper, we propose a Dual-level Masked Semantics Inference (DMSI) that takes the initiative to explicitly learn contextual relationships via enforcing our model to infer the semantics of a pixel according to its surrounding contexts. This allows our model to exhaust accurate semantics by incorporating inter-pixel context clues, further leading to comprehensive segmentation. Specifically, DMSI comprises two main components: 1) Dual-level mask consistency regularization (DMCR) that learns the ability of semantics inference by aligning the predictions of masked views with the prediction of the complete view. The masked views here come from both the image level and feature level, where our model captures low-level attributes and high-level representations respectively. 2) AdaMask that provides a proper mask position and ratio for each image, guiding our model to focus on semantic-rich regions while providing balanced training between hard and easy samples. Through learning the ability of semantic inferring, DMSI remarkably enhances the interaction between pixels, further progressively intensifying the understanding of semantics. Extensive experiments under various settings on Cityscapes and Pascal VOC 2012 show that DMSI achieves new state-of-the-art performances. Furthermore, analysis indicates that our method has superiority in mining inter-pixel semantic relationships and improving robustness facing noise corruption. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

High-performance and Multi-functional Control of Transformerless Single-phase Smart Inverter for Grid-connected PV System

Highly reliable and flexible control is required for distributed generation(DG) to efficiently connect to the *** inverters play a key role in the control and integration of DG into the power grid and provide advanced functionalities. In this paper, an energy-based single-phase voltage-source smart inverter(SPV-SSI) of 5 k VA is designed and analyzed in detail. SPV-SSI is capable of supplying the power to local load and the utility load up to the rated capacity of the inverter, injecting the power into the grid, storing the energy in lead-acid battery bank, controlling the voltage at the point of common coupling(PCC) during voltage sags or faults, and making decisions on real-time pricing information obtained from the utility grid through advanced metering. The complete design of smart inverter in dq frame, bi-directional DC-DC buck-boost converter, IEEE standard 1547 based islanding and recloser, and static synchronous compensator(STATCOM) functionalities is presented in this paper. Moreover, adaptive controllers, i. e., fuzzy proportional-integral(F-PI) controller and fuzzy-sliding mode controller(F-SMC) are designed. The performances of F-PI controller and F-SMC are superior, stable, and robust compared with those of conventionally tuned PI controllers for voltage control loop(islanded mode) and current control loop(grid-connected mode).

Spiking Neural Networks for Temporal Processing: Status Quo and Future Prospects

Temporal processing is fundamental for both biological and artificial intelligence systems, as it enables the comprehension of dynamic environments and facilitates timely responses. Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) excel in handling such data with high efficiency, owing to their rich neuronal dynamics and sparse activity patterns. Given the recent surge in the development of SNNs, there is an urgent need for a comprehensive evaluation of their temporal processing capabilities. In this paper, we first conduct an in-depth assessment of commonly used neuromorphic benchmarks, revealing critical limitations in their ability to evaluate the temporal processing capabilities of SNNs. To bridge this gap, we further introduce a benchmark suite consisting of three temporal processing tasks characterized by rich temporal dynamics across multiple timescales. Utilizing this benchmark suite, we perform a thorough evaluation of recently introduced SNN approaches to elucidate the current status of SNNs in temporal processing. Our findings indicate significant advancements in recently developed spiking neuron models and neural architectures regarding their temporal processing capabilities, while also highlighting a performance gap in handling long-range dependencies when compared to state-of-the-art non-spiking models. Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has garnered substantial research interest owing to its pivotal role in advancing the development of next-generation (6G) wireless networks. However, achieving a performance balance between communication and sensing in the dual-function radar communication (DFRC)-based ISAC system remains a significant challenge. In this paper, an aerial intelligent reflecting surface (IRS)-assisted ISAC system is explored, where a base station (BS) supports dual-functional operations, enabling both data transmission for multiple users and sensing for a blocked target, with the channel quality enhanced by an IRS mounted on the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Moreover, we formulate an integrated communication, sensing, and energy efficiency multi-objective optimization problem (CSEMOP), which aims to maximize the communication rate of the users and the echo rate of the target, while minimizing UAV propulsion energy consumption by jointly optimizing the BS beamforming matrix, IRS phase shifts, the flight velocity and angle of the UAV. Considering the non-convexity, trade-off, and dynamic nature of the formulated CSEMOP, we propose a generative diffusion model-based deep deterministic policy gradient (GDMDDPG) method to solve the problem. Specifically, the diffusion model is incorporated into the actor network of DDPG to improve the action quality, with noise perturbation mechanism for better exploration and recent prioritized experience replay (RPER) sampling mechanism for enhanced training efficiency. Simulation results indicate that the GDMDDPG method delivers superior performance compared to the existing methods. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A multiagent sequential decision problem has been seen in many critical applications including urban transportation, autonomous driving cars, military operations, etc. Its widely known solution, namely multiagent reinforcement learning, has evolved tremendously in recent years. Among them, the solution paradigm of modeling other agents attracts our interest, which is different from traditional value decomposition or communication mechanisms. It enables agents to understand and anticipate others' behaviors and facilitates their collaboration. Inspired by recent research on the legibility that allows agents to reveal their intentions through their behavior, we propose a multiagent active legibility framework to improve their performance. The legibility-oriented framework drives agents to conduct legible actions so as to help others optimize their behaviors. In addition, we design a series of problem domains that emulate a common legibility-needed scenario and effectively characterize the legibility in multiagent reinforcement learning. The experimental results demonstrate that the new framework is more efficient and requires less training time compared to several multiagent reinforcement learning algorithms. © 2025 The Author(s)

Using the wireless waveform superposition property, over-the-air computation (OAC) enables federated learning (FL) to achieve fast model aggregation. However, this computing paradigm is vulnerable to poisoning attacks due to the openness of a wireless channel over time, where malicious mobile devices can introduce cumulative errors for the global FL model in a time-varying wireless environment for each communication round. This article presents a trust online OAC (TO-OAC) scheme to minimize impacts on the global model introduced by malicious devices adjusting to dynamic attack and wireless channel fluctuations over time. TO-OAC achieves this by utilizing trustworthy security quantification of OAC for each FL training round. To optimize the cumulative training loss at the aggregation node with the long-term power and trust constraints of mobile devices, we propose a joint trust, power, and channel-aware algorithm to flexibly update local and global models in response to the dynamic changes in the wireless and secure environment. We analyze the performance limits for the aggregation of trust models, considering metrics for computation and communication through time. We then propose another trust online regularization over-the-air computation (TOR-OAC) as an improved version of the TO-OAC scheme to decrease convergence time while ensuring long-term trust and power limitation. Experimental results performed on real-life datasets show that the two proposed schemes (TO-OAC and TOR-OAC) outperform prior works, especially in noisy, time-varying wireless channels and malicious attacks. 2002-2012 IEEE.

The development of production and increasing usage of light electric vehicles such as electric bicycles and electric scooters entails development of batteries, battery chargers and fast charging algorithms. Batteries with different nominal electrical characteristics and production technologies are currently in use. Among them, lithium-iron batteries are increasingly being used. The differences in basic characteristics of batteries and standardization issues require fast identification of various battery types and adapting of charging algorithms according to nominal current, voltage, capacity and state of charge. This paper describes a method for determining the nominal current for unknown LiFePO4 battery connected to the stationary filling station for charging electric bicycles. A prerequisite for determination of the rated current is identification of current-voltage curve at the moment of connection and identification of the number of cells. The algorithm for determining these parameters is given in the first part of the paper. The second part deals with determination of the nominal current for LiFePO4 battery based on current-voltage response to the selected battery charging algorithm. © 2014 MIPRO.

This paper presents ontlology-based architecture for pattern recognition in the context of static source code analysis. The proposed system has three subsystems: parser, OWL ontologies and analyser. The parser subsystem translates the input coded to AST that is constructed as an XML tree. The OWL ontologies define code patterns and general programming concepts. The analyser subsystem constructs instances of the input code as ontology individuals and asks the reasoner to classify them. The experience gained in the implementation of the proposed system and some practical issues are discussed. The recognition system successfully integrates the knowledge representation field and static code analysis. resulting in greater flexibility of the recognition system.
