Feature Selection (FS) is essential for optimizing Learning to Rank (LTR) models by determining the vital choice of attributes from a complex dataset. This study examines feature selection strategies within the framework of learning to rank, specifically emphasizing a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm utilizing the listwise approach. Conventional ranking algorithms frequently experience issues with superfluous or unnecessary features, undermining their efficacy. The suggested method employs a combination of instance selection, evolutionary optimization, and ensemble techniques to choose feature subsets. The methodology seeks to reduce the feature count while enhancing ranking precision, assessed via the Normalized Discounted Cumulative Gain (NDCG) metric. Experiments were performed using LETOR 4.0 dataset (MQ2007-list and MQ2008-list), evaluating proposed method against established listwise ranking algorithms like ListMLE, ListNet, RankCosine and p-ListMLE. The findings indicate that, although there are performance discrepancies relative to current algorithms, the suggested method attains substantial feature reduction up to 60 percent while maintaining competitive ranking accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

Information retrieval systems commonly depend on ranking models to prioritize search results, which requires efficient feature selection to improve accuracy. Feature selection improves the model's query relevance ranking by selecting the most relevant features. This unique method avoids diluting the ranking model with unnecessary variables, resulting in more accurate ranks. The proposed approach consists of three separate stages: multi-objective instance selection, feature selection, and ensemble method. By utilizing a listwise methodology, the algorithm directly enhances the optimization of ranking criteria resulting in enhanced performance. The effectiveness of FS-listwise was evaluated using standardized datasets. After conducting experiments, results shown that the proposed method have peak performance than MOFSRank and classical ranking algorithms, such as ListNet and LambdaMART, in terms of Normalized Discounted Cumulative Gain and consistently selecting a minimal yet highly effective feature set. © 2024 IEEE.

Providing accurate information about all objects in the environment surrounding an autonomous vehicle is essential for the development of a maritime navigation system used on board autonomous and unmanned vessels. In this paper, we introduce a method that integrates LiDAR and camera data for precise 3D object detection and tracking. The approach utilizes LiDAR for acquiring object position information and ensures accurate object classification through data from the camera. The proposed architecture is presented with a detailed explanation of all algorithms used. Several scenarios have been created in a simulated environment to compare three approaches for the selection of target object in the camera frustum (the Nearest Center, Gaussian Likelihood, and Intersection-Over-Union). Finally, the full algorithm setup is tested in a simulator environment with multiple vessels and a background coast. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. All rights reserved.

The future sixth-generation(6G) paradigm aims to seamlessly integrate communication and environmental sensing capabilities into a single radio signal, promising improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness through simultaneous data communications and environmental perception. At the core of this evolution, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) and its advanced waveforms emerge as pivotal for integrated sensing and communications(ISAC). This study introduces a concise and unified ISAC waveform design framework based on orthogonal multicarriers. This framework supports versatile applications of OFDM and its derivative waveforms within a generalized ISAC system, marking a significant leap in integrating communication and sensing capabilities. A distinguishing feature of this framework is its adaptability,allowing users to intelligently select modulation strategies based on their specific environmental needs. This adaptability optimizes performance across diverse scenarios. Central to our innovations is the proposal of discrete Fourier transformspread OFDM with index modulation(DFT-S-OFDM-IM). This framework is paired with newly proposed signal processing methods for single-input single-output and multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) systems. Extensive evaluations highlight DFT-S-OFDM-IM's superiority, including dramatically reduced peak-to-average power ratios(PAPRs), competitive communication performance, and exceptional sensing capabilities, striking an elegant balance between communication capacity and environmental sensing precision.

CO2 sensor data is often applied for Demand Controlled Ventilation (DCV), Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessment, and occupancy detection. In room controllers, the auto-calibration function shifts the zero level so that the measurements would not drift off. However, this creates jumps in data and sometimes values below outdoor CO2 level. If the data is further used, occupancy is detected differently, the ventilation would not function as designed, and the assessment would result in different IAQ class certificates. Therefore, in this work, a statistical method to correct the CO2 baseline automatically in real time was developed based on measurements from a school building in Estonia in 56 different rooms. The school had balanced heat recovery ventilation that assured adequate ventilation. During the process, the performance of different algorithms and parameters for the correction were compared. The CO2 concentration baseline correction algorithm was realised using the 1% percentile and 10-hour sliding time window as an optimal compromise to correct the base level to 400 ppm and the algorithm performed well based on qualitative assessment. The impact of the algorithm was significant when comparing the initially logged and corrected values against CO2 concentration thresholds 550, 800, and 1000 ppm. © Healthy Buildings Europe *** right reserved.

The pandemic creates a more complicated providence of medical assistance and diagnosis procedures. In the world, Covid-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS Cov-2), and plague are widely known pandemic disease desperations. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic tragedies, various medical diagnosis models and intelligent computing solutions are proposed for medical applications. In this era of computer-based medical environment, conventional clinical solutions are surpassed by many Machine Learning and Deep Learning-based COVID-19 diagnosis models. Anyhow, many existing models are developing lab-based diagnosis environments. Notably, the Gated Recurrent Unit-based Respiratory Data Analysis (GRU-RE), Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Covid Data Analysis (Thermal Images) (I-UVAC), and Convolutional Neural Network-based Computer Tomography Image Analysis (CNN-CT) are enriched with lightweight image data analysis techniques for obtaining mass pandemic data at real-time conditions. However, the existing models directly deal with bulk images (thermal data and respiratory data) to diagnose the symptoms of COVID-19. Against these works, the proposed spectacle thermal image data analysis model creates an easy and effective way of disease diagnosis deployment strategies. Particularly, the mass detection of disease symptoms needs a more lightweight equipment setup. In this proposed model, each patient's thermal data is collected via the spectacles of medical staff, and the data are analyzed with the help of a complex set of capsule network functions. Comparatively, the conventional capsule network functions are enriched in this proposed model using adequate sampling and data reduction solutions. In this way, the proposed model works effectively for mass thermal data diagnosis applications. Several medical investigations have demonstrated that Alzheimer's disease (AD) manifests itself long before the formal diagnosis of dementia. These studies have led to the identification of numerous ideal biomarkers associated with Alzheimer's symptoms. Consequently, the imperative for early diagnosis has become evident, necessitating a high-performance computational tool capable of efficiently processing vast amounts of data. Early detection of AD not only offers valuable insights into the condition's progression but also presents a significant opportunity to benefit from timely and effective treatment. This ground-breaking study pioneers an innovative approach to the early detection and diagnosis of AD by crafting a sophisticated model SVGGL, which blends the power of stacked VGG19 neural networks with the interpretability of logistic regression. Leveraging neuro-imaging data, specifically the insights provided MRI, and our model aims to discern subtle structural and functional alterations in the brains of individuals at risk for or in the early stages of AD. The combination of feature extraction from stacked VGG19 models and subsequent logistic regression classification yields a precise and efficient classifier with an outstanding accuracy of 98.24%. With such a high degree of accuracy, the model can reliably differentiate among healthy people and those with Alzheimer's, opening the door to potential early intervention and individualized treatment plans. The study not only sheds light on the intricate neuro pathological landscape of AD but also propels us toward a future where cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights, exemplified by our high-accuracy model, converge to tackle the challenges posed by this prevalent neurodegenerative disorder. © 2024 IEEE.

Regression testing plays a crucial role in maintain software quality as applications evolving and getting more complex. Selection of a regression testing technique significantly influences overall software quality. In initial stages, this involves picking relevant test cases and remove unnecessary redundancies during minimization phase. Finally, prioritization of test cases phases most important ones is executed first which continue process iteratively or whole testing carried out which effect time and cost intensively. Test Case Prioritization method effective way to address the issue. In this study, we proposed approach to enhance Test Case Prioritization by integrating fault based methods and time of execution analysis. The study also evaluates the efficiency in proposed methodology through, employing APFD metric. The study aims to improve the precision and effectiveness of test case prioritization methods, advancing overall quality and reliability in dynamic software development environments. Notably, AHC outperforms in comparisons, showcasing its efficacy in improving outcomes. © 2024 IEEE.
