In recent years, deep learning has significantly reshaped numerous fields and applications, fundamentally altering how we tackle a variety of challenges. Areas such as natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, healthcare, network security, wide-area surveillance, and precision agriculture have leveraged the merits of the deep learning era. Particularly, deep learning has significantly improved the analysis of remote sensing images, with a continuous increase in the number of researchers and contributions to the field. The high impact of deep learning development is complemented by rapid advancements and the availability of data from a variety of sensors, including high-resolution RGB, thermal, LiDAR, and multi-/hyperspectral cameras, as well as emerging sensing platforms such as satellites and aerial vehicles that can be captured by multi-temporal, multi-sensor, and sensing devices with a wider view. This study aims to present an extensive survey that encapsulates widely used deep learning strategies for tackling image classification challenges in remote sensing. It encompasses an exploration of remote sensing imaging platforms, sensor varieties, practical applications, and prospective developments in the field. © The Author(s) 2024.

DPT‐tracker:Dual pooling transformer for efficient visual tracking

Transformer tracking always takes paired template and search images as encoder input and conduct feature extraction and target‐search feature correlation by self and/or cross attention operations,thus the model complexity will grow quadratically with the number of input *** alleviate the burden of this tracking paradigm and facilitate practical deployment of Transformer‐based trackers,we propose a dual pooling transformer tracking framework,dubbed as DPT,which consists of three components:a simple yet efficient spatiotemporal attention model(SAM),a mutual correlation pooling Trans-former(MCPT)and a multiscale aggregation pooling Transformer(MAPT).SAM is designed to gracefully aggregates temporal dynamics and spatial appearance information of multi‐frame templates along space‐time *** aims to capture multi‐scale pooled and correlated contextual features,which is followed by MAPT that aggregates multi‐scale features into a unified feature representation for tracking *** tracker achieves AUC score of 69.5 on LaSOT and precision score of 82.8 on Track-ingNet while maintaining a shorter sequence length of attention tokens,fewer parameters and FLOPs compared to existing state‐of‐the‐art(SOTA)Transformer tracking *** experiments demonstrate that DPT tracker yields a strong real‐time tracking baseline with a good trade‐off between tracking performance and inference efficiency.

Democratizing Large Language Model-Based Graph data Augmentation via Latent Knowledge Graphs

data augmentation is necessary for graph representation learning due to the scarcity and noise present in graph data. Most of the existing augmentation methods overlook the context information inherited from the dataset as they rely solely on the graph structure for augmentation. Despite the success of some large language model-based (LLM) graph learning methods, they are mostly white-box which require access to the weights or latent features from the open-access LLMs, making them difficult to be democratized for everyone as existing LLMs are mostly closed-source for commercial considerations. To overcome these limitations, we propose a black-box context-driven graph data augmentation approach, with the guidance of LLMs — DemoGraph. Leveraging the text prompt as context-related information, we task the LLM with generating knowledge graphs (KGs), which allow us to capture the structural interactions from the text outputs. We then design a dynamic merging schema to stochastically integrate the LLM-generated KGs into the original graph during training. To control the sparsity of the augmented graph, we further devise a granularity-aware prompting strategy and an instruction fine-tuning module, which seamlessly generates text prompts according to different granularity levels of the dataset. Extensive experiments on various graph learning tasks validate the effectiveness of our method over existing graph data augmentation methods. Notably, our approach excels in scenarios involving electronic health records (EHRs), which validates its maximal utilization of contextual knowledge, leading to enhanced predictive performance and interpretability. © 2025, CC BY-NC-ND.

An image-based fire detection system is designed using an image dataset to train the model, and further, any image capturing device will be used for later prediction purposes. The training and prediction are done using deep learning techniques. Convolution Neural Network is used for implementation. As another fire identification innovation, picture fire location has as of late assumed a pivotal part in diminishing property misfortune and harm during a fire by disturbing clients at a beginning phase through early fire discovery. Picture fire location depends on an algorithmic investigation of pictures. Nonetheless, there is a lower precision, postponed recognition, and much calculation in like manner identification calculations, including physically and machine naturally separating picture highlights. The model is designed to alert the user via SMS and email along with a captured image of fire when a fire occurs. The proposed system in development aims at providing a detection system that can alert a user instantly at the time of a hazardous fire. The aim is to create an accurate model that does not result in false alerts. The model is trained using accurate image datasets to differentiate between a fire and a non-fire scenario. Existing models used the RGB-HIS colour space for their model. Particularly, it is used to obtain pre-detected areas rather than the traditional motion differential method. The centroid variety of candidates is used to measure the flame colour dispersions in subsequent frames. Multi-expert systems have the following;dispersion of colour and centroid movement are entrenched to classify fire based on testing various clips acquired by a surveillance camera in private confinement. © 2022 IEEE.

As big data,its technologies,and application continue to advance,the Smart Grid(SG)has become one of the most successful pervasive and fixed computing platforms that efficiently uses a data-driven approach and employs efficient information and communication technology(ICT)and cloud *** a result of the complicated architecture of cloud computing,the distinctive working of advanced metering infrastructures(AMI),and the use of sensitive data,it has become challenging tomake the SG *** of the SG are categorized into two main categories,Technical Losses(TLs)and Non-Technical Losses(NTLs).Hardware failure,communication issues,ohmic losses,and energy burnout during transmission and propagation of energy are ***’s are human-induced errors for malicious purposes such as attacking sensitive data and electricity theft,along with tampering with AMI for bill reduction by fraudulent *** research proposes a data-driven methodology based on principles of computational intelligence as well as big data analysis to identify fraudulent customers based on their load *** our proposed methodology,a hybrid Genetic Algorithm and Support Vector Machine(GA-SVM)model has been used to extract the relevant subset of feature data from a large and unsupervised public smart grid project dataset in London,UK,for theft detection.A subset of 26 out of 71 features is obtained with a classification accuracy of 96.6%,compared to studies conducted on small and limited datasets.

Metaphorical expressions are widely used in daily communication between humans to improve the understanding of both complex and abstract concepts. However, it is unclear whether the usage of metaphorical language is helpful for enhancing the conversational engagement between humans and AI. In this work, we leverage a state-of-the-art computational metaphor processing tool to gain insights from human and ChatGPT conversations. Our quantitative analysis finds that although metaphors may enhance the quality of human-AI interactions, they do not directly lead to higher levels of conversational engagement, which is measured by the duration of the conversation. However, regression analysis shows a notable relationship between user and ChatGPT metaphor usage, suggesting that ChatGPT is adept at reflecting the linguistic style of users, especially in terms of metaphorical language. Additional topic modeling and concept mapping analyses further explored the patterns of metaphorical language across various engagement levels and topics in user and ChatGPT messages. © 2024 IEEE.

The security aspect of cloud computing is much more challenging for researchers. Preventing the attack requires knowledge about the type of attack, its origin, and how vulnerabilities and tools are used for the attack. The cloud security methodology protects customer data, information, and applications from attackers. Due to digitalization, the volume of data is increased. The protection of data is very challenging for cloud service providers. This work proposes a new cloud intrusion detection system security infrastructure based on Honeynet, Honeywell, Honeypot, and Honeytoken Strategies. The proposed strategy effectively identifies intrusion detection, attack behavior, and attack scenario. Plant infections destroy and impair the quality of crops, and the pesticides used to treat them pollute the soil, rendering it unfit for planting. Image processing and deep learning technologies may be used to identify disease spots on grape leaves. The detection's precision and efficiency, on the other hand, remain problems. In this paper, the performance of a few well-known CNN models implemented utilizing transfer learning, such as ResNet18, VGG16, and GoogleNet were compared with capsule network. The local entity characteristics are first found by the Capsule layers. For the purpose of collecting aggregate data like "disease type" and "disease stage," the capsule layer makes use of geographic information and the frequency of local-level characteristics. Colored pictures of strong and unhealthy leaves were taken from the public dataset and then used to train the models. The proposed work focused on the novelty concept of identifying the stages of diseases. The Capsule based classification technique can give competitive benefits with an effective classification of accuracy and stages of leaf disease related to other models.

Facial Expression Recognition (FER) is crucial for understanding human emotions, with applications spanning from mental health assessment to marketing recommendation systems. However, existing camera-based methods raise privacy concerns, while RF-based approaches suffer from limited environmental generalizability and high cost. In this work, we propose ToFace, a FER system leveraging a low-cost (4.8$) Direct Time-of-Flight (DToF) sensor that has been available on commodity smartphones. This sensor provides an extremely low-resolution 8 × 8 depth map and a clear Field of View (FoV), significantly mitigating privacy concerns while avoiding the impact of ambient objects. Despite the benefits, the low-resolution depth map introduces significant challenges for precise expression recognition due to limited facial structure information. We first develop a physical model to extract additional spatial information from the intermediate sensor output, i.e., the transient histograms. We then propose a physics-integrated neural network to reconstruct a facial structure map comprising both depth and orientation for accurate expression recognition. We conduct real-world experiments with 12 users and compare our model with several baselines. The results demonstrate that ToFace achieves the highest recognition accuracy of 75%.

Automated writing evaluation system that employs automated essay scoring technologies generates a rating to the writings which helps students with self-assessment. It provides an efficient and easy way for grading essays, which usually takes abundance of time to be evaluated by human graders;this can be greatly useful for educational institutions like schools and colleges. It provides ratings for essays based on the grammatical errors and topic relevancy by using specific tools implemented in the auto grading system. The generated result will help students grading essays which helps students in self-assessment, this will be useful for the student to understand the mistakes that he makes which will be pinpointed by the system in matter of time, not only that the system also displays the strengths of the user, but also the system will improve the accuracy compared to already existing automated grading system. The system uses scores from multiple features (handcraft features, coherence score, prompt-relevant score, and semantic score).
