Analyzing sentiment in micro-blogs, such as tweets or short social media posts, is a challenging yet important task in natural language processing (NLP). Deep learning techniques have shown great promise in this domain. Here's a novel approach for sentimental analysis using a deep neural network for micro-blogs. With the exponential growth of user-generated content on online platforms, YouTube has emerged as a dominant space for both creators and viewers to interact. One crucial aspect of this interaction is the comment section, where viewers express their thoughts and sentiments. This research presents a robust sentiment analysis model tailored specifically for YouTube video comments, aiming to extract valuable insights from this rich source of user-generated content. Ultimately, our novel deep neural network approach for micro-blog sentiment analysis demonstrates promising results, offering valuable insights into public sentiment across various social media platforms Using a deep neural network, this study presents a sentiment analysis model for YouTube video comments. This research contributes to the advancement of sentiment analysis methodologies, addressing the unique challenges posed by the concise and informal nature of micro-blogs. Our method, a mathematical model, and individuals were utilized to categorize the comments on various blogs. It was assumed that the classification of humans was entirely accurate. The results showed that, with classification accuracy ranging from 90% to 97%, our model is more precise than the numerical model.

The Multi-objective Shortest Path (MOSP) problem is a classic network optimization problem that aims to find all Pareto-optimal paths between two points in a graph with multiple edge costs. Recent studies on multi-objective search with A* (MOA*) have demonstrated superior performance in solving difficult MOSP instances. This paper presents a novel search framework that allows efficient parallelization of MOA* with different objective orders. The framework incorporates a unique upper bounding strategy that helps the search reduce the problem’s dimensionality to one in certain cases. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed framework can enhance the performance of recent A*-based solutions, with the speed-up proportional to the problem dimension. Basic Safety Messages (BSMs) exchanged among vehicles and roadside units through vehicular communications can significantly enhance road safety and improve traffic efficiency. Protecting the integrity of BSMs, which are transmitted wirelessly in plaintext, is critical for the proper operation of vehicular networks. As a result, various machine learning-based misbehavior detection systems have been proposed to identify corrupted BSMs. Recent studies have applied federated learning methods to further preserve user privacy while facilitating detection model updates. However, supervised federated learning cannot be directly applied since BSMs received by vehicles are unlabeled. In this paper, we propose a semi-supervised federated learning framework that enables the federated training process between vehicles and the server without transmitting any datasets. Our experimental results show that the performance of the proposed semi-supervised framework is very close to the centralized method, while preserving user privacy and reducing communication costs. © 2024 IEEE.

Speech emotion recognition(SER)is an important research problem in human-computer interaction *** representation and extraction of features are significant challenges in SER *** the promising results of recent studies,they generally do not leverage progressive fusion techniques for effective feature representation and increasing receptive *** mitigate this problem,this article proposes DeepCNN,which is a fusion of spectral and temporal features of emotional speech by parallelising convolutional neural networks(CNNs)and a convolution layer-based *** parallel CNNs are applied to extract the spectral features(2D-CNN)and temporal features(1D-CNN)representations.A 2D-convolution layer-based transformer module extracts spectro-temporal features and concatenates them with features from parallel *** learnt low-level concatenated features are then applied to a deep framework of convolutional blocks,which retrieves high-level feature representation and subsequently categorises the emotional states using an attention gated recurrent unit and classification *** fusion technique results in a deeper hierarchical feature representation at a lower computational cost while simultaneously expanding the filter depth and reducing the feature *** Berlin database of Emotional Speech(EMO-BD)and Interactive Emotional Dyadic Motion Capture(IEMOCAP)datasets are used in experiments to recognise distinct speech *** efficient spectral and temporal feature representation,the proposed SER model achieves 94.2%accuracy for different emotions on the EMO-BD and 81.1%accuracy on the IEMOCAP dataset *** proposed SER system,DeepCNN,outperforms the baseline SER systems in terms of emotion recognition accuracy on the EMO-BD and IEMOCAP datasets.

Multimodal Transformer Models for Turn-taking Prediction: Effects on Conversational Dynamics of Human-Agent Interaction during Cooperative Gameplay

This study investigates multimodal turn-taking prediction within human-agent interactions (HAI), particularly focusing on cooperative gaming environments. It comprises both model development and subsequent user study, aiming to refine our understanding and improve conversational dynamics in spoken dialogue systems (SDSs). For the modeling phase, we introduce a novel transformer-based deep learning (DL) model that simultaneously integrates multiple modalities - text, vision, audio, and contextual in-game data to predict turn-taking events in real-time. Our model employs a Crossmodal Transformer architecture to effectively fuse information from these diverse modalities, enabling more comprehensive turn-taking predictions. The model demonstrates superior performance compared to baseline models, achieving 87.3% accuracy and 83.0% macro F1 score. A human user study was then conducted to empirically evaluate the turn-taking DL model in an interactive scenario with a virtual avatar while playing the game Don’t Starve Together, comparing a control condition without turn-taking prediction (n=20) to an experimental condition with our model deployed (n=40). Both conditions included a mix of English and Korean speakers, since turn-taking cues are known to vary by culture. We then analyzed the interaction quality, examining aspects such as utterance counts, interruption frequency, and participant perceptions of the avatar. Results from the user study suggest that our multi-modal turn-taking model not only enhances the fluidity and naturalness of human-agent conversations, but also maintains a balanced conversational dynamic without significantly altering dialogue frequency. The study provides in-depth insights into the influence of turn-taking abilities on user perceptions and interaction quality, underscoring the potential for more contextually adaptive and responsive conversational agents. Determining the form of the Higgs potential is one of the most exciting challenges of modern particle physics. Higgs pair production directly probes the Higgs self-coupling and should be observed in the near future at the High-Luminosity LHC. We explore how to improve the sensitivity to physics beyond the Standard Model through per-event kinematics for di-Higgs events. In particular, we employ machine learning through simulation-based inference to estimate per-event likelihood ratios and gauge potential sensitivity gains from including this kinematic information. In terms of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory, we find that adding a limited number of observables can help to remove degeneracies in Wilson coefficient likelihoods and significantly improve the experimental sensitivity.

In the present study, a non-linear mathematical model is proposed to minimize the total expenditure made on sugarcane cultivation. The objective here is to optimize the costs involved in transportation, cultivation, and management of the deterioration of sugarcane. The optimization tools used are Differential Evolution (DE) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Further, the model is validated by comparing the actual expenditure of sugarcane cultivation with results obtained by PSO and DE, which indicates that the application of optimization methods may help in reducing the expenditure made on sugarcane cultivation. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Conventional data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric approach to examine the efficiency of similar decision-making units (DMUs) as a whole system without considering its internal structure, i.e., the system is considered as a black box. Therefore, a network DEA (NDEA) is needed to study the internal structure of a system. By allowing for the measurement of individual components, an NDEA model can reveal inefficiencies that a traditional DEA ignores. In this study, we use the parallel network DEA to calculate the efficiency of a higher education institute with 19 decision-making units (DMUs) using two parallel processes (teaching and research) and compare it with the conventional DEA, CCR model through a numerical example. The main advantages of the parallel NDEA model are (i) to identify which DMUs are inefficient and make necessary adjustments, and (ii) the parallel DEA model has a lower efficiency score than the traditional DEA model. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

BEAT: Balanced Frequency Adaptive Tuning for Long-Term Time-Series Forecasting

Time-series forecasting is crucial for numerous real-world applications including weather prediction and financial market modeling. While temporal-domain methods remain prevalent, frequency-domain approaches can effectively capture multi-scale periodic patterns, reduce sequence dependencies, and naturally denoise signals. However, existing approaches typically train model components for all frequencies under a unified training objective, often leading to mismatched learning speeds: high-frequency components converge faster and risk overfitting, while low-frequency components underfit due to insufficient training time. To deal with this challenge, we propose BEAT (Balanced frEquency Adaptive Tuning), a novel framework that dynamically monitors the training status for each frequency and adaptively adjusts their gradient updates. By recognizing convergence, overfitting, or underfitting for each frequency, BEAT dynamically reallocates learning priorities, moderating gradients for rapid learners and increasing those for slower ones, alleviating the tension between competing objectives across frequencies and synchronizing the overall learning process. Extensive experiments on seven real-world datasets demonstrate that BEAT consistently outperforms state-of-the-art approaches. © 2025, CC BY.

In recent years, social media communication plays an important role in sharing messages, thoughts, comments and ideas around the world. Among them, Twitter is one of the most popular communication mediums. Twitter provides free services for sharing information's that are limited to 140 characters. Each month nearly 40 million new twitter accounts were created. Since usage of twitter increases rapidly, fake accounts were created for posting the spam messages and links for redirecting to phishing websites. Researchers proposed various machine learning methodologies for filtering the spam to handle and maintain the social network security problems. But still detecting spam tweets, malicious link in real world scenario is still a complex task. In the proposed work, a novel deep learning technique is introduced to address the above mention issues. Word Vector model is used for learning the syntax of each tweet. Later by using proceeding representation data set, binary classifier is developed. For experimental purpose 1-month twitter datasets are collected. Proposed work outperforms when compared with various existing methodologies and also to detect the non-text based as well. The ratio of spam is determined using the precision, recall, and F-measure metrics. © 2023 IEEE.
