PALCT: vehicle-to-vehicle communication based on pseudonym assignment and encryption scheme using delay minimisation cover tree algorithm

Vehicle-to-vehicle communication is one of the new paradigms of networking, which should be secure, fast, and efficient. In this paper, we propose a framework that implements the pseudonym-based authentication scheme in which communication among vehicles is encrypted by using a matrix array symmetric key (MASK), digital signature algorithm (DSA), and intelligent water drop (IWD). The proposed security scheme also ensures the handling of many security attacks like key-guessing, non-repudiation, replay, and modification. In the proposed scheme, to preserve the identity of the vehicle, we have provided the different pseudonyms for each vehicle in the network that ensure secure communication among vehicles. Furthermore, the proposed delay minimisation cover tree algorithm ensures the issue of timed delay during vehicle-to-vehicle communication. In this algorithm, we have used Dijkstra’s algorithm for finding the optimal shortest path during vehicular communication. The results obtained show that the proposed scheme is effective and efficient, as it reduces the time delay by 4% for 140 vehicle nodes and 28.4% for 1000 vehicle nodes. In the workplace, risk prevention helps detect the risks and prevent accidents. To achieve this, workers' mental and physical parameters related to their health should be focused on and analyzed. It helps improve the workers' mental health and thus improves organizational performance. There are a lot of mental illnesses due to excess work and a lack of professional knowledge. It affects the performance of the worker. So, the organization needs to conduct competency training programs to improve their professional skills and the mindset to tackle the work pressure. There are several competency training programs given in various organizations to mold the workers, and it considerably reduces workplaces risks. Competency training in the workplace teaches integrity, honesty, managerial skills, and other workers. Developing organizational skills is the primary concern in this competency training. This paper enabled one of the best machine learning algorithms to be chosen to predict the hazards in the workplace and provide a healthy environment to the workers. For that, several classification methods such as Logistic Regression, Decision trees, AdaBoost classifier, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting classifier, and XGBoost classifier are implemented experimented with, and the performance is verified with python software. From the comparison, it has been found that the XGBoost classifier is selected as the best classifier and identified that it is highly suitable for analyzing and predicting workplace risks data. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Early and accurate detection of myocardial infarction (MI) is pivotal in enhancing cardiac function, as it can result in a heart attack. Detecting MI arrhythmias from electrocardiogram (ECG) signals presents challenges in accurately extracting patterns, such as Q, R, S and T wave segments. This paper proposes an efficient automated MI detection based on optimized Stockwell transform (OptST), Renyi entropy, dispersion entropy, and extreme learning machine (ELM) algorithm. The OptST is employed to decompose the ECG signal to four frequency band. The renyi and dispersion entropy features are then extracted in each frequency band for training and validation of ELM model to classify the five MI diseases. To identify clinically significant features, a Wilcoxon rank sum test is conducted, and to test the robustness of the proposed method 5-fold cross-validation has been applied. The simulation results have demonstrated that the proposed model has achieved a highest accuracy of 96.86%, specificity of 98.04%, recall of 92.16%, and F-score of 92.18% for sine activation function at hidden number of 300. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management 2025.

Background: The progress of the Cognitive Radio-Wireless Sensor Network is being influenced by advancements in wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which significantly have unique features of cognitive radio technology (CR-WSN). Enhancing the network lifespan of any network requires better utilization of the available spectrum as well as the selection of a good routing mechanism for transmitting informational data to the base station from the sensor node without data conflict. Aims: Cognitive radio methods play a significant part in achieving this, and when paired with WSNs, the above-mentioned objectives can be met to a large extent. Methods: A unique energy-saving Distance-Based Multi-hop Clustering and Routing (DBMCR) methodology in association with spectrum allocation is proposed as a heterogeneous CR-WSN model. The supplied heterogeneous CR-wireless sensor networks are separated into areas and assigned a different spectrum depending on the distance. Information is sent over a multi-hop connection after dynamic clustering using distance computation. Results: The findings show that the suggested method achieves higher stability and ensures the energy-optimizing CR-WSN. The enhanced scalability can be seen in the First Node Death (FND). Additionally, the improved throughput helps to preserve the residual energy of the network which helps to address the issue of load balancing across nodes. Conclusion: Thus, the result acquired from the above findings shows that the proposed heterogeneous model achieves the enhanced network lifetime and ensures the energy optimizing CR-WSN. © 2023 Bentham Science Publishers.

Telugu Language Analysis with XLM-RoBERTa: Enhancing Parts of Speech Tagging for Effective Natural Language Processing

This research investigates the efficacy of XLM-RoBERTa, a potent deep learning architecture rooted in transformer networks, for Part-of-Speech (POS) tagging—a foundational task in Natural Language Processing (NLP). The study narrows its focus to address the formidable UCD Telugu dataset, renowned for its intricate morphological characteristics that pose challenges to accurate tagging. Through meticulous fine-tuning of the pre-trained XLM-RoBERTa model. This study adeptly discerns and exploit intricate syntactic and semantic patterns underpinning the interplay between lexical elements and their respective POS tags. The rigorous evaluation regimen, complemented by a comprehensive statistical comparison with the Multilingual BERT model, conclusively establishes XLM-RoBERTa’s superiority. This advanced model attains a remarkable accuracy score of 91%, decisively surpassing the Multilingual BERT model, which achieves an accuracy of 88%. These findings not only underscore XLM-RoBERTa’s prowess in precise POS tagging, especially in the context of morphologically rich languages like Telugu, but also carry significant implications for the broader NLP community. This research unlocks valuable insights and positions XLM-RoBERTa as an exemplar of reliability and robustness in POS tagging. This research explores the augmentation of Agricultural Internet of Things (IoT) systems through the integration of advanced predictive analytics and reinforcement learning models. A novel algorithm, termed "CropQL,"is proposed to optimize crop yield prediction and resource allocation in precision agriculture. CropQL amalgamates the strengths of the CropNet IoT model with Q-Learning for reinforcement learning and Random Forest for predictive analytics. Simulation analyses are conducted to evaluate the performance of CropQL against established algorithms, employing diverse metrics such as precision, recall, F1 score, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC-ROC). The proposed CropQL algorithm exhibits superior predictive accuracy, demonstrating a significant enhancement in crop yield forecasting when compared to baseline algorithms. Precision and recall metrics reveal the algorithm's efficacy in minimizing false positives and negatives, ensuring precision agriculture systems make informed decisions. F1 score indicates the balanced optimization of precision and recall, reinforcing the algorithm's robustness. AUC-ROC analysis further corroborates the superior discriminative power of CropQL in distinguishing between positive and negative instances. In comparison to existing algorithms, including AgriSensNet, PrecisionCropNet, and IoTFarmGuard, CropQL consistently outperforms in predictive accuracy and resource optimization. The simulation results underscore the efficacy of the proposed algorithm in enhancing the efficiency of agricultural IoT systems, providing a promising avenue for sustainable precision farming. © 2024 IEEE.

Network traffic has been growing exponentially for the past several years. As a result, it has become more and more difficult to detect cyber intrusions - especially in unbalanced environments, where the attacks are usually covered up by normal traffic. This investigation is set to deal with the problem by coming up with an intrusion detection system that uses a deep learning approach to effectively find and eliminate the unbalanced network intrusions. The process includes data preprocessing for balancing the classes, feature engineering for choosing optimal features, and comparison of CNN and RNN models for improving detection accuracy. The tests have shown precision of 93% and recall of 88% which in total brought 99.8% accuracy. Also, the real-time deployment has demonstrated the model’s ability to dynamically traffic patterns, which induced false positives to be reduced remarkably. The results help in the improvement of intrusion detection systems by providing a scalable, adaptive, and efficient way to handle constantly altering cyber threats. © 2025 IEEE.

A developing technology that can be highly helpful for both intelligent transportation services and safety and security is the Automobile ad hoc network, or VANET. Nevertheless because of the great mobility and wireless connection of cars, there are numerous security risks that jeopardize people's safety and security when driving. The Sybil assault, in which the perpetrator makes up a false identity to obtain significant influence within the network and delay certain services and manipulate others by fictitious voting, is one of the main security issues. People can avoid being duped by an attacker or falling into traps when attacks are detected early. This study describes two methods for detecting Sybil attacks: the first uses the Poisson Distribution Method in order to forecast traffic on the street, whereas the latter examines network efficiency for packet delivery ratio (PDR) in both benign additionally malicious environments. According to the simulation's findings, PDR lowers the number of fictitious cars in the network. Our method is straightforward and efficient because it doesn't involve a lot of computational overhead and doesn't breach users' privacy concerns. © 2024 IEEE.

The initial step in facial recognition and analysis systems often involves facial detection. Traditional methods like Haar cascades and directed gradient histograms relied on manually designed features, limiting their effectiveness in diverse image environments. However, the emergence of deep learning in computer vision has accelerated the development of face detection frameworks, significantly improving accuracy. Detecting small-scale faces, varying positions, occlusions, blurs, and partially obscured faces in uncontrolled settings remains a persistent challenge in face identification. To address this, we propose a new approach called 'Visionary Net.' This single-stage face detector has undergone refinements, boosting both detection speed and accuracy. We tested Visionary Net on two well-known datasets: Mega Face and CelebA. Notably, on the Mega Face benchmark, our method achieved an impressive AP of 48.5 at a speed of 15.2 FPS using single-scale inference and an exceptional AP of 52.7 with multi-scale inference. Implementing it with the PyTorch framework resulted in a remarkable 97.3% accuracy in successfully detecting faces. Our comprehensive experiments show that Visionary Net surpasses existing models, demonstrating superior detection and recognition capabilities across various evaluation metrics. This innovative algorithm holds significant promise for robust face detection in challenging real-world scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

Cluster analysis can be perceived as a problem of grouping data points according to their mutual similarity. Clustering quality largely depends on choosing an effective distance metric, especially when dealing with mixed data that contains both numerical and categorical features. This study introduces a Weighted Combined distance metric using Gower and sqrt-cosine distances to improve clustering quality for mixed data. By combining two individual distance metrics with weights, this unique technique generates an overall similarity score that can improve the clustering quality. Experiments have demonstrated that the Weighted Combined distance metric can yield superior clustering quality compared to individual distance metrics. These findings highlight the potential of this proposed method to effectively cluster mixed data and overcome challenges associated with mixed data clustering. © 2024 IEEE.
