Benefitting from the simplicity and ease of implementation, K-means algorithm and its variants have been extensively studied and applied. However, the similarity measure manner limits the performance of previous K-means methods. Specifically, existing methods only take the similarity between the data point and itself cluster centroid into account while failing to consider the relationship with other centroids. In this study, we propose a method called Contrastive K-means (CKm). For training, to learn satisfactory cluster centroids of input data points for clustering, CKm simultaneously considers the similarity/dissimilarity between positive/negative pairs when optimizing the cluster centroids of data. Experimental results on seven prevalent datasets substantiate that CKm surpasses other K-means and variants in performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Nowadays, the demand for language learning is increasing because people need to communicate with other people belonging to different regions for their business deals, study, etc. During language learning, a lot of pronunciation mistakes occur due to unfamiliarity with a new language and differences in accent. In this paper, we perform speech mistakes analysis using deep feature-based clustering. We proposed two novel methods for speech analysis, one to deal with phonemic errors (confusing phonemes) and the other to deal with the prosodic errors (partially changed pronunciation variation of phones). For accurate and efficient language learning, it is important to learn both phonemic as well as prosodic error corrections. In our first method, we perform speech analysis by combining deep CNN features and clustering algorithm to detect the phonemic errors. We classify the phonemes using K-nearest neighbor, Naïve Bayes, and support vector machine (SVM). We perform experiments on the six most frequently mispronounced confusing pairs of Arabic to handle phonemic errors and achieve an accuracy of 94%. In our second method, we proposed the unsupervised phone variation model (PVM) to detect prosodic errors. In PVM, each phone is extended to represent the different types of pronunciation variation of that phone with different proficiency levels. We use an Arabic dataset of 28 individual phones for speech analysis and provide feedback based on the variation of each phone and achieves an accuracy of 97%. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Context: Grover's algorithm is a powerful tool in the realm of quantum computing because it offers exponential speedup over classical linear searching for unstructured / unsorted search problems. However, it is challenging to construct efficient and scalable circuits for a multi-input control gate in the algorithm, particularly with a huge number of qubit inputs. Problem: Traditional circuit construction methods often require manual composition for the multi-input gate from basic quantum gates, which can be time consuming and error prone, thus hindering practical implementation. Moreover, the number of simple gates in the composition grows exponentially with the addition of each qubit. Method: This research provides an approach to recursively generate the oracle using Toffoli gates as the fundamental units to enhance scalability and reusability while maintaining effectiveness. The methodology leverages IBM Qiskit and Quantum Lab to simulate quantum computation to prove the practicality and feasibility. Result: The findings from the experiments between recursively and non-recursively generated circuits suggest that our recursive approach can offer comparable accuracy and computational complexity compared to the non-recursive approach. However, it tends to require a larger number of basic quantum gates due to a lack of circuit optimization. Conclusion: The results showcase the applicability of utilizing recursion as a speedy and economical alternative to generate circuits when implementing the Grover's algorithm. It not only presents potential scalability benefits, but also creates an avenue for further research on test verification and performance improvement to the computing community when running in actual quantum hardware. © 2024 IEEE.

Many studies show that bearings are the most vulnerable components in low-voltage motors. While advanced bearing diagnostic systems exist, their cost can be a barrier for non-critical machinery due to the potential wait time to see a return on investment. This research explores the feasibility of using basic signal processing techniques on vibration data for bearing condition monitoring. The primary goal is to analyze benchmark data from the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) dataset and establish a baseline performance for this data-driven approach. The results suggest that, with appropriate signal processing, it's possible to achieve early detection of bearing faults, leading to more efficient time-To-fault identification with higher detection accuracies ranging from 83 % to 100 % for each method. © 2024 IEEE.

Security metrics for software products give a quantifiable assessment of a software system's trustworthiness. Metrics can also help detect vulnerabilities in systems, prioritize corrective actions, and raise the level of information security within the business. There is a lack of studies that identify measurements, metrics, and internal design properties used to assess software security. Therefore, this paper aims to survey security measurements used to assess and predict security vulnerabilities. We identified the internal design properties that were used to measure software security based on the internal structure of the software. We also identified the security metrics used in the studies we examined. We discussed how software refactoring had been used to improve software security. We observed that a software system with low coupling, low complexity, and high cohesion is more secure and vice versa. Current research directions have been identified and discussed. © 2022 IEEE.

Aim:This study aims to establish an artificial intelligence model,ThyroidNet,to diagnose thyroid nodules using deep learning techniques ***:A novel method,ThyroidNet,is introduced and evaluated based on deep learning for the localization and classification of thyroid ***,we propose the multitask TransUnet,which combines the TransUnet encoder and decoder with multitask ***,we propose the DualLoss function,tailored to the thyroid nodule localization and classification *** balances the learning of the localization and classification tasks to help improve the model’s generalization ***,we introduce strategies for augmenting the ***,we submit a novel deep learning model,ThyroidNet,to accurately detect thyroid ***:ThyroidNet was evaluated on private datasets and was comparable to other existing methods,including U-Net and *** results show that ThyroidNet outperformed these methods in localizing and classifying thyroid *** achieved improved accuracy of 3.9%and 1.5%,***:ThyroidNet significantly improves the clinical diagnosis of thyroid nodules and supports medical image analysis *** research directions include optimization of the model structure,expansion of the dataset size,reduction of computational complexity and memory requirements,and exploration of additional applications of ThyroidNet in medical image analysis.

The accurate prediction of loan repayment ability is paramount in any financial industry to minimize risks and enhance decision making. This project centers on the development of a loan repayment predictive model using ensemble algorithm. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated through the following metrics: f1 score, accuracy, and precision. Five classifiers including Random Forest, AdaBoost, Gradient Boosting, Logistic Regression, and SVC were used as base classifiers for the ensemble. Ensemble-based optimization (using RSCV) is employed to get the best combination of hyperparameters. This technique performs a randomized search over specified hyperparameter values, using cross-validated performance to find the best combination to create models that make up the ensemble model. Preliminary results indicate promising performance improvements when compared to single model. Future research in this domain could further refine the model and expand its applications in the ever-evolving financial sector.

The Internet of Vehicles(IoV)is a networking paradigm related to the intercommunication of vehicles using a *** a dynamic network,one of the key challenges in IoV is traffic management under increasing vehicles to avoid ***,optimal path selection to route traffic between the origin and destination is *** research proposed a realistic strategy to reduce traffic management service response time by enabling real-time content distribution in IoV systems using heterogeneous network ***,this work proposed a novel use of the Ant Colony Optimization(ACO)algorithm and formulated the path planning optimization problem as an Integer Linear Program(ILP).This integrates the future estimation metric to predict the future arrivals of the vehicles,searching the optimal *** the mobile nature of IOV,fuzzy logic is used for congestion level estimation along with the ACO to determine the optimal *** model results indicate that the suggested scheme outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods by identifying the shortest and most cost-effective ***,this work strongly supports its use in applications having stringent Quality of Service(QoS)requirements for the vehicles.

Exactly Minimax-Optimal Locally Differentially Private Sampling

The sampling problem under local differential privacy has recently been studied with potential applications to generative models, but a fundamental analysis of its privacy-utility trade-off (PUT) remains incomplete. In this work, we define the fundamental PUT of private sampling in the minimax sense, using the f-divergence between original and sampling distributions as the utility measure. We characterize the exact PUT for both finite and continuous data spaces under some mild conditions on the data distributions, and propose sampling mechanisms that are universally optimal for all f-divergences. Our numerical experiments demonstrate the superiority of our mechanisms over baselines, in terms of theoretical utilities for finite data space and of empirical utilities for continuous data space. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

In the next generation of computing environment e-health care services depend on cloud *** Cloud computing environment provides a real-time computing environment for e-health care *** these services generate a huge number of computational tasks,real-time computing and comes with a deadline,so conventional cloud optimizationmodels cannot fulfil the task in the least time and within the *** overcome this issue many resource optimization meta-heuristic models are been proposed but these models cannot find a global best solution to complete the task in the least time and manage utilization with the least simulation *** order to overcome existing issues,an artificial neural-inspired whale optimization is proposed to provide a reliable solution for healthcare *** this work,two models are proposed one for reliability estimation and the other is based on whale optimization technique and neural network-based binary *** predictive model enhances the quality of service using performance metrics,makespan,least average task completion time,resource usages cost and utilization of the *** as compared to existing algorithms the proposedANN-WHOalgorithms prove to improve the average start time by 29.3%,average finish time by 29.5%and utilization by 11%.
