This paper focuses on solving the problem of traffic-sign detection and classification at nighttime when lighting is often lower. Images taken by the camera at night are underexposed and fail to show details. Low-light enhancement method can improve the brightness of the image. By studying four different low-light enhancement methods and applying four methods to the detection and classification of traffic signs, the performance of low-light image enhancement is compared. The evaluation results show that the nighttime traffic-sign detection and classification method, which combines a robust end-to-end convolutional neural network (CNN) and Zero-Reference Deep Curve Estimation (Zero-DCE) low-light enhancement, has high precision and a higher recall rate compared to other methods. © 2022 IEEE.

Many diseases and cancerous cells can be detected using images taken by gastroenterology specialists. Accurate and rapid detection of gastroenterological diseases is very important for the treatment processes to be applied and for the patient’s recovery. In this study, a data set containing data from 8 different diseases (Esophagitis, Dyed and Lifted Polyps, Dyed Resection Margins, Cecum, Pylorus, Z-line, Polyps, Ulcerative colitis) was used. A deep learning network was trained using the EfficientNet architecture and the test results were given in the study. In addition, comparisons were made with other studies using the same data set and the same parameters in the literature. Studies have shown that gastrological images can be successfully classified with an accuracy of 0.935. Class-based classification results are also shared in detail for 8 diseases in the results section of the study. The results showed that the trained architecture would contribute to minimizing human error in disease detection.

The article describes intelligent devices focused to smart glasses, analyze the technology of smart glasses belonging to the group of wearable devices and their possible use in the electromechanical systems. It may happen that smart glasses will be in the center of business electronics in future, similar to today's smartphones. The article presents design of smart glasses software, it handles about software link between electric drives controlled by Siemens PLC and Android OS. This link provides the control process data visualization and its control. Automated process applications are available for development to enhance control automation processes. There are several smart glasses types, with different operating system, camera type, resolution, shape, control system etc. The proposed software is built into Android Studio and tested via the emulator. Because the app was created for specific smart glasses, the emulator eyeglass maker was used. Emulator is an application on a mobile phone serving as a representation of physical glasses. The emulator is an app on a cellphone emulating physical glasses. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper the issue of filtering and smoothing in continuous discrete time is studied when the state variable evolves in some submanifold of Euclidean space, which may not have the usual Lebesgue measure. Formal expressions for prediction and smoothing problems are reviewed, which agree with the classical results except that the formal adjoint of the generator is different in general. These results are used to generalise the projection approach to filtering and smoothing to the case when the state variable evolves in some submanifold that lacks a Lebesgue measure. The approach is used to develop projection filters and smoothers based on the von Mises–Fisher distribution, which are shown to be outperform Gaussian estimators both in terms of estimation accuracy and computational speed in simulation experiments involving the tracking of a gravity vector.

This work presents a comprehensive LiDAR-inertial odometry framework featuring robust smoothing and mapping capabilities, effectively correcting LiDAR feature point skewness using an inertial measurement unit (IMU). While the Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is a common choice for nonlinear motion estimation, its complexity grows when handling maneuvering targets. To overcome this challenge, a new framework that incorporates the Iterated Interactive Multiple Models of Kalman Filter (IMMKF) is given, providing a solution for reliable navigation in dynamic motion and noisy conditions. To ensure map consistency, an ikd-tree that facilitates continuous updates and adaptive rebalance is employed, preserving the map’s integrity. To guarantee the robustness of our approach, it undergoes extensive testing across diverse scales of indoor and outdoor environments. This testing scenario simulates absolute GPS denial. In terms of estimated motion, the new algorithm demonstrates superior accuracy compared to existing approaches. The implementation is openly accessible on GitHub 4 for further exploration.

We consider the synthesis problem of a multi-agent system under signal temporal logic (STL) specifications representing bounded-time tasks that need to be satisfied recurrently over an infinite horizon. Motivated by the limited approaches to handling recurring STL systematically, we tackle the infinite-horizon control problem with a receding horizon scheme equipped with additional STL constraints that introduce minimal complexity and a backward-reachability-based terminal condition that is straightforward to construct and ensures recursive feasibility. Subsequently, we decompose the global receding horizon optimization problem into agent-level programs the objectives of which are to minimize local cost functions subject to local and joint STL constraints. We propose a scheduling policy that allows individual agents to sequentially optimize their control actions while maintaining recursive feasibility. This results in a distributed strategy that can operate online as a model predictive controller. Last, we illustrate the effectiveness of our method via a multi-agent system example assigned a surveillance task. © 2023, CC BY.

Rice has become one of the largest and most widely cultivated food crops in the world. Nevertheless, there is a significant probability that high amounts of salt, especially at the stage of seedling development, would have a detrimental effect on rice output. As a result, it is critical to quickly discover and develop salinity-tolerant rice crop types, particularly at the stage of seedling development, to prevent a decrease in rice output. Expertise from humans is required for the categorization of visual signals and the conventional way of a standard assessment system for identifying rice crop salinity stress. It's time demanding and prone to mistakes, both of which may lead to inaccurate classification. Recent developments in deep learning and transfer training have opened the road for the automated categorization of a wide range of agricultural jobs, from the detection of plant diseases and pests to the identification of weeds and invasive species. The lack of plant-domain-specific pre-trained models and the limited number of available datasets remain significant obstacles to agricultural automation. We use the AgriNet dataset, a database of 850 image graphs of farms and agricultural settings. The work shows the need for a deep learning developed model over the conventional way of measuring rice crop sensitivity to salt stress throughout the seedling stage to detect and categorize stress caused by salinity in the seedling stage of rice using field images. Thus, we use one of the most advanced deep learning approaches, VGG 16, VGG 19, Resnet 50, Resnet 100, exception, Resnet 50V2, Inception V3, MobileNetV2, DenseNet121, and ResNet101V2 which was built in Python's Jupyter Notebook, to construct the classification model. To further demonstrate the need for a computer-based classification system for salinity estimation that could be used as a tool for automating the classification process for rice development to aid scientists and farmers in the rice crop management

This paper presents a new supercritical carbon dioxide(SCO_(2))cannon based on the carbon dioxide(CO_(2))’s thermodynamic cycle under constant ***,Virial equation and NIST database are applied to formulate SCO_(2)’s property and analyze the thermodynamic cycle,which is aimed to get the optimization equation using the cannon’s exit velocity as objective *** the cannon’s structural parameters,such as diaphragm thickness and barrel length,and CO_(2)’s filling mass,are ***,the flow field and velocity’s change during the launch process is performed with *** field test,the ultra-high pressure sensor and ultra-high speed camera are used to measure the pressure distribution along the barrel’s axial direction and the projectile’s exit velocity under different *** results show that all the performance indexes meet the design *** innovative SCO_(2)cannon in this paper has obvious advantages such as high safety,low cost and fast loading,which can be applied in many situations such as disaster relief,peacekeeping and ***,the unique energy storage method and thermodynamic design ensure its subsequent development.

Bionic limb prosthetics continue to face significant challenges in terms of artificial limb embodiment, often leading to prosthesis abandonment in patients. Following recent results in literature on digital trainings, this study investigates the impact of the visuo-attentive feedback of an Augmented/Diminished Reality (AR/DR) exergame on prosthetic embodiment. Two interaction paradigms were compared, i.e. a reference unrestricted interaction of a virtual prosthetic limb against a one in which the prosthesis and its interaction capability fades over time and requires the participant's visual-attention to reestablish it. Preliminary findings on non-amputees demonstrated hardship with the visuo-attentive approach which was associated with detrimental effects on the prosthesis embodiment, possibly because of the re-allocation of cognitive resources that are necessary to establish the process of body ownership. © 2025 IEEE.
