Recently as the incidences of terrorism and crime increase, the utilization of video surveillance system such as CCTV is increased. The increase of video surveillance system is useful in maintaining the safety of people's living and public order, however, the issue has been brought up about privacy invasion. For this, researches on the masking method to protect the privacy are being carried out. The masking method can protect privacy by eliminating the visual information but reduces the surveillance function. Therefore, the techniques that satisfy the human identification-based privacy protection and surveillance function at the same time have been researched. In this paper, the human identification method that is applicable to the existing privacy protection method and video surveillance system is explained.

The extraction and representation of information from volume data are important research avenues in computer-based visualization. The interpretation of three- or multi-dimensional data from various scanning devices is important to medical imaging, diagnosis and treatment, reliability and sustainability analyses in various industrial branches, and, in more general terms, information visualization. In this paper, we present several approaches for the classification and representation of relevant information from volume data sets. The techniques are based on the gradient vector, a property directly derived from the original volume data. We show how this property can be computed and subsequently used for classification through gradient-based one- and multi-dimensional transfer functions, as well as for the enhancement of surface features. The described techniques are illustrated through images generated using our volume rendering framework, from Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data sets. The resulting images show how gradient-based techniques are suited for improved volume classification and the better extraction of meaningful information.

The aim of this work is to create application for mobile devices such as PDAs running under Windows Mobile. With this application, and PDA it will be able to process the analog data measured by the A / D converter and display it in graphs. Use of the converter has four analog inputs. These are converted into digital form and transmitted via the communication interface Ethernet to WiFi router. Application running on a PDA uses WiFi connection to download measured data and to processes them. The advantage of this solution is particularly small size and mobility of the PDA. This eliminates the need to transfer the measuring device. This makes a possibility of usage wide especially in the manufacturing industry in the halls where it should be measured in several places at the same time, and the values compared between each other.

For the definition of interception based on the previous literature, we adopt the input-output feedback linearization algorithm to design controller to implement robot interception. Based on the implementation of interception, the control strategy is designed for the two mobile robots to hunt single moving robot. A local computer which is used as controller sets up a wireless local area network(WLAN) with AmigoBot mobile robots, transmitting data by means of wireless communication to implement the remote control of robots and using proposed algorithm to implement interception and hunting. The results of simulation and real robot experiment demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

This paper deals with the battery life of mobile devices and PDAs at various load levels of the battery. For such testing of PDA battery life, there are many programs in ensuring the current battery status. Our developed appplications can determine the battery at defined time intervals and display its status on the device display in numeric format XX%, where the measured value is stored in an external file in XLS format. Addressing problem is designed to store the measured data of the appplication in tabular form, for better evaluation performance and the subsequent effect on the battery. Testing is focused on the impact of various device appplications, that means from low-end appplications to very demanding appplications with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, for the battery status.

The project is to create an application that converts the audio signal from your computer microphone to record format MP3. Application is designed to record and preserve the audio recordings to a file in a format of lossy compression of audio file compression based on MPEG algorithm (Motion Picture Experts Group). While maintaining a relatively high quality it can reduce the size of audio files in CD quality at about one tenth, for speech, however, it gives much worse results. The advantage of this application is the ability to set frequency range (the sampling) and set the width of the stream, which indicates the number of bits, by which a second of record is registred with. The application is written in C # using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.

A novel subspace learning algorithm named neighborhood discriminant nearest feature line analysis (NDNFLA) is proposed in this paper. NDNFLA aims to find the discriminant feature of samples by maximizing the between-class feature line (FL) distances and minimizing the within-class FL distance. At the same time, the neighborhood is preserved in the feature space. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
