This paper presents a new methodology for the data processing and classification method for gait disorders, which is observed with a Kinect camera. The study of gait and motion stability in gait disorders is one of the most interesting research areas in the field. The patient and the physician must monitor the progress of the rehabilitation process before and after surgery to obtain an objective view of the rehabilitation process. In this study, the patient is scanned with the Kinect camera placed on a mobile robotic platform. For feature extraction and feature analysis, the exercises (three walking exercises) frames are collected and saved in data folders. This study uses 84 measurements of 37 patients with complex observations based on the physician's opinion in a clinical setting to address classification problems. In the analysis of gait disorders, motion data play an essential role. Furthermore, it reduces the selection of helpful body features for assessing gait disorders. The proposed system uses a key-point detector that computes body landmarks and classifies gait disorders using triple-parallel long short-term memory (LSTM) networks. The present study demonstrates the success of the method in classification evaluation when combined with the state-of-the-art pose estimation method. Around 81 percent accuracy was achieved for given sets of individuals using velocity-based, angle-based, and position-based features.

The underrepresentation of women in Science, Technology, engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields remains a significant concern despite ongoing efforts towards gender equality. This gender gap not only underscores disparities in educational opportunities but also raises critical questions about diversity in thinking and innovation within STEM disciplines. Initiatives such as The Girls-in-control workshop aim to address this gap by providing access to essential knowledge and skills in a supportive environment that encourages confidence and motivation among female students. This article presents a detailed analysis of The Girls-in-control workshop held in Spain, focusing on specific controlengineering problems and fundamental concepts. Developed in collaboration with several universities and research centers nationwide, the workshop was held on the Day of Women and Girls in Science (11F). Results from questionnaires filled out by both instructors and students highlight the success of the workshop, with students learning key control theory concepts in an engaging way using Scratch programming. Considerations for future editions are also explored.

We study input and state constrained inverse optimal control problems starting from a stabilizing controller with a control Lyapunov function, where the goal is to make the controller an explicit solution of the resulting constrained optimal control problem. For an appropriate cost design and initial states for which a sublevel set of the Lyapunov function is contained in the state constraint set and the initial input lies on an ellipsoid inside the input constraint set, we show that the stabilizing controller solves the constrained optimal control problem. Compared to the state-of-the-art, we avoid solving nonlinear optimization problems evaluated pointwise, i.e., for every state, or in a repetitive fashion, i.e., at each time step. We apply our theoretical results to study the angular droop control studied in (Jouini et al., 2022) of an inverter-based power network. For this, we accommodate the constraints on the angle and power generation and exemplify our approach through a two-inverter case study.

This paper presents the control system of a mobile robot, capable of detecting, tracking and following an object of a certain color. The mobile robot was created for educational purposes, in the CIM laboratory of the University of Oradea. It is based on a crawler robot, controlled with a Raspberry Pi development system. This system controls the movements necessary for tracking the object: moving forward, backward, left turn or right turn. For detecting and locating the object, the robot is also equipped with a video camera connected to Raspberry Pi. The acquisition and processing of images in real time, provided by the camera, are performed with programming functions provided by the OpenCV (Open Source Computer Vision Library). These functions are implemented in a control program, written in Python language. In order to facilitate the tracking of the images obtained and processed during the movements, the robot has also been provided with a graphic display connected to the Raspberry Pi board. This paper also presents the implementation of a numerical control algorithm used for tracking the objects.

The number of stroke cases has increased dramatically in the last 30 years, and more and more people are left disabled because of stroke. It is vital to continue researching new ways to recover and improve their condition. Rehabilitation therapies are based on intensive and repeated training starting as soon as possible. However, the number of therapists is too few to treat the growing number of stroke survivors. Advanced technologies such as virtual reality (VR) and robot-assisted therapies have been introduced to improve stroke rehabilitation. VR-based rehabilitation immerses patients in simulated environments, providing visual feedback miming real-world activities. This approach motivates patients through interactive tasks while engaging their cognitive processes, which is crucial for neuroplasticity and motor recovery. Robot-assisted therapy complements VR by providing precise, repetitive movements and proprioceptive feedback. This paper presents a virtual reality- based and robotic-assisted upper limb neuromotor recovery system. The system combines VR immersion with robotic assistance, allowing patients to receive real-time guidance and support during exercise. The system adapts to the patient's condition, providing personalized visual and physical feedback to help relearn motor skills.
