This book presents techniques to render photo-realistic images by programming the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). We discuss effects such as mirror reflections, refractions, caustics, diffuse or glossy indirect illumination, radiosity, single or multiple scattering in participating media, tone reproduction, glow, and depth of field. The book targets game developers, graphics programmers, and also students with some basic understanding of computer graphics algorithms, rendering APIs like Direct3D or OpenGL, and shader programming. In order to make the book self-contained, the most important concepts of local illumination and global illumination rendering, graphics hardware, and Direct3D/HLSL programming are reviewed in the first chapters. After these introductory chapters we warm up with simple methods including shadow and environment mapping, then we move on toward advanced concepts aiming at global illumination rendering. Since it would have been impossible to give a rigorous review of all approaches proposed in this field, we go into the details of just a few methods solving each particular global illumination effect. However, a short discussion of the state of the art and links to the bibliography are also provided to refer the interested reader to techniques that are not detailed in this book. The implementation of the selected methods is also presented in HLSL, and we discuss their observed performance, merits, and disadvantages. In the last chapter, we also review how these techniques can be integrated in an advanced game engine and present case studies of their exploitation in games. Having gone through this book, the reader will have an overview of the state of the art, will be able to apply and improve these techniques, and most importantly, will be capable of developing brand new GPU algorithms. A precise localization for mobile target in wireless sensor networks is presented in this letter,where a geometrical relationship is explored to improve the location estimation for mobile target,in-stead of a simple centroid *** equations of location compensation algorithm for mobiletarget are derived based on linear trajectory prediction and sensor selective *** resultsbased on extensive simulation experiments show that the compensation algorithm gets better per-formance in metrics of quality of tracking and energy efficiency with the change of sensor sensing range,the ratio of sensing range and sensor activation range,and the data sampling rate than traditionalmethods,which means our proposing can achieve better quality-energy tradeoff for mobile target inwireless sensor networks.

Based on the results of [3] and [4] the current paper presents a general method which can be applied for any approximation type of the hodographic method to study the compressible fluid's permanent and subsonic flux through profiles' networks. Based on the defined mathematical model an analytical method is searched by using the linear approximation of the compressible fluid's characteristic curve and the special network's turbine profile. To be able to analyze on all the three hodographic methods the flux of the compressible fluid through the special network the method of C. C. Lin (1949) was generalized. The method can be used even if the elements of the special's network are not turbine profiles, but the obstacles are satisfying the requirements of a geometrically and phisically periodic system.

Recently there are a lot research works for multimedia communication systems. Especially, the space sharing communication is one of research trends for multimedia communication. By using the space sharing technology, the users feel as they are in the same space, even if they are in different locations. This can be done taking each video image of two remote points into one space. In this paper, we propose a care communication system with space sharing function. The implemented care communication system supports the communication and information sharing among in-patients, family members, doctors and helpers. In the proposed system, we have developed not only integration of two video images but also a warmth transmission function. By using this function, two persons in different locations can transmit their feelings as they are in the same space. We verified the proposed system effectiveness by conducting some experiments.

The paper investigates the development of a new type of recurrent wavelet neural network and its application to fault detection and isolation (FDI) of a dynamic process. Hybrid learning based on c-means fuzzy clustering algorithm and the steepest-descent method, is used to train the proposed neural network. The experimental case study concerns the sensor and actuator fault diagnosis of a sub-system from the evaporation station of a sugar factory, namely the evaporator. A neural generalised observer scheme is used to generate the residuals (symptoms) in the form of one step-ahead prediction errors. These are then processed by a neural classifier in order to take the appropriate decision regarding the type of the behaviour of the process (normal or abnormal).
