At the movement of a man with the usual prothesis it is not possible to change the speed of walking too much. Concerning construction, the artificial limbs are solved in the following way: Their swing is adjusted to any induvidual. Our project concerns developing of the artificial limb which is capable to react on possible rate of movement changes, that will make the pace more fluent and natural. The work can be divided into two parts - mechanical and control (electronic) one. The mechanical part consists of pneumatic cylinder in which the flow valve is controlled. This enables two-sided regulation. The electronic part consists of pressure sensor and control unit created by one-chip processor which reacts on pressure change in dependence on time.

In this paper, the simulation and measurement of the pressure impact propagation along the long pipeline is presented. The congruence of the mathematical model with the measurement data is studied. The mathematical description of the model id discussed. The partial differential equations are solved by MATLAB 5.3/WINDOWS. The model was verified on the pipeline in MCHZ - Ostrava. The results of measurement are presented.

This paper describes the results of the working group investigating the issues of empirical studies for evolving systems. The groups found that there were many issues that were central to successful evolution and this concluded that this is a very important area within software engineering. Finally nine main areas were selected for consideration. For each of these areas the central issues were identified as well as success factors. In some cases success stories were also described and the critical factors accounting for the success analyzed. In some cases it was later found that a number of areas were so tightly coupled that it was important to discuss them together.

A new output feedback controller for PWM systems based on continuation method is presented. This algorithm solves the PWM-type deadbeat control problem numerically. By using this algorithm, iterations for solving the nonlinear equation always start from a good solution candidate and therefore it can be used online. The validity of the proposed control method is demonstrated by a numerical simulation of experimental device imitating a satellite.

In this paper we fabricated and tested the 0.26 /spl mu/m NMOSFET with wet gate oxide and nitride oxide gate to compare that the characteristics of hot carrier effect, charge to breakdown, transistor Id_Vg curve, charge trapping, and SILC (stress induced leakage current) using the HP4145 device tester. As a result we find that the characteristics of nitride oxide gate device are better than wet gate oxide device, especially hot carrier lifetime (nitride oxide gate device has a lifetime of 30 years, but the lifetime of wet gate oxide was only 0.1 year), variation of Vg, charge to breakdown and charge trapping.

Repetitive processes are a distinct class of 2D systems of both theoretic and practical interest. For example, they arise in the study of industrial processes such as long-wall coal cutting operations and also in the modeling of classes of iterative learning control schemes. This paper describes the development of MATLAB based tools for control related analysis/controller design in the case of so-called discrete linear repetitive processes with particular emphasis on the iterative learning control application.
