Home automation systems based on wireless sensor/actuator networks are characterized by diversity of node power sources, limited computational power, and mobility. We propose a routing protocol that fully uses the location of static nodes to limit the search for a route to a small zone based on the analysis of characteristics and requirements. The calculation of two different kinds of zone and the route discovery procedure are described in this paper. According to the environment of home automation, we compared the performance of our routing protocols with the ad-hoc on-demand distance-vector protocol using simulation and gave suggestions for zone selection. Simulation results showed that our routing protocol dramatically reduced the routing overhead and increased the reliability.

1ome frequently employed algorithms in engineering, are parallel by nature (embarrasingly parallel algorithms) and some others can be parallelized via data parallelization. Algorithms like probability analysis, linear homotopy continuation method, Gauss-Jacobi combinatorial technique are belonging to the first group, while others like algorithms for digital image processing as well as reduced Groenber basis application to solving systems of polynomial equations fall into the other category. In this case study we illustrate how Mathematica can manage to evaluate such algorithms parallel on a multicore machine. The analysis of the efficiency of the computation and the net reduction of the execution time are presented by three examples as well as some useful tips are given to avoid pitfalls and utilize the advantages of parallel processing.

This paper proposed a method to evaluate collaboration of criteria such as Performance Rate, Quality Rate, and Availability of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to players in time sequences. We proposed a method called “Moving Coalition Analysis” (MCA) to observe performance trends of a coalition over time by treating each year or time as a player. In this method, we divide a coalition into several subcoalitions and calculate the characteristic function of all subcoalitions. Then, we examine the collaboration of Performance Rate, Quality Rate, and Availability for each subcoalition using the Shapley value. This method shows the relationship between each player and its contributors and can show trends of an activity in a time sequence even though the value of OEE is constant. This concept is applicable to various sectors of maintenance management and can play a role in considering the balance of combinations of criteria when performing maintenance.

It is an accepted fact that children are easy to impress but hard to content. Unlike adults, children have such a dynamic like and dislike patterns. Even though it is not clear why children cannot cling to one idea for a longer period of time it is obvious that their curiosity tempts to experience a bit of everything. While competing with the dynamic nature of child's mind this research extends the previous work on children's colour selection into a new direction; inquiring what are the determinants of children's colour mapping with emotions? This research argues on two phenomena and exposes the readers mind to a third. Three hypotheses were raised. First; culture influence on detecting affective relations towards colour. Second; Nature influence on detecting affective colour relations. Finally whether there is a trace for an unknown third dimension to grasp the affective reaction towards colour.
