Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join

With the widespread deployment of indoor positioning systems, an unprecedented scale of indoor trajectories is being produced. By considering the inherent uncertainties and the text information contained in such an indoor trajectory, a new definition named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory is defined in this paper. In this paper, we focus on a new primitive, yet quite essential query named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join (IUST-Join for short), which is to match all similar pairs of indoor uncertain semantic trajectories from two sets. IUST-Join targets a number of essential indoor applications. With these applications in mind, we provide a purposeful definition of an indoor uncertain semantic trajectory similarity metric named IUS. To process IUST-Join more efficiently, both an inverted index on indoor uncertain semantic trajectories named 3IST and the first acceleration strategy are proposed to form a filtering-and-verification framework, where most invalid pairs of indoor uncertain semantic trajectories are pruned at quite low computation cost. And based on this filtering-and-verification framework, we present a highly-efficient algorithm named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join Processing (USP for short). In addition, lots of novel and effective acceleration strategies are proposed and embedded in the USP algorithm. Thanks to these techniques, both the time complexity and the time overhead of the USP algorithm are further reduced. The results of extensive experiments demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed work.

When performing the simulation process, we encounter many systems that do not follow by their nature the uniform distribution adopted in the process of generating the random numbers necessary for the simulation process. Therefore, it was necessary to find a mechanism to convert the random numbers that follow the regular distribution over the period [0, 1] to random variables that follow the probability distribution that works on the system to be simulated. In classical logic, we use many techniques in the transformation process that results in random variables that follow irregular probability distributions. In this research, we used the inverse transformation technique, which is one of the most widely used techniques, especially for the probability distributions for which the inverse function of the cumulative distribution function can found. We applied this technique to generate neutrosophic random variables that follow an exponential distribution or a neutrosophic exponential distribution. This based on classical or neutrosophic random numbers that follow a regular distribution. We distinguished three cases according to the logic that each of the random numbers or the exponential distribution follows. We arrived at neutrosophic random variables that, when we use them in systems that operate according to an exponential distribution, such as queues and others, will provide us with a high degree of accuracy of results, and the reason for this is due to the indeterminacy provided by neutrosophic logic © 2023, Neutrosophic Sets and *** Rights Reserved.

There is growing interest in vision improvement methods because poor vision impairs quality of life and causes a variety of problems in daily living and cognitive function. However, many existing vision improvement methods are invasive, expensive, and require large training spaces and long training *** this study, we focused on the positive effects of HMD use on visual acuity and devised a noninvasive visual acuity training method using an HMD with variable focal distance and Gabor stimuli to enhance its effectiveness. In this training method, the image formation distance during training is adjusted according to the subject's visual acuity, providing training at the optimal difficulty level for each subject. It also aims to efficiently enhance visual function through perceptual learning using Gabor *** results of this study showed that this training method improved visual acuity by an average of 35% in 1/8th the training time of the conventional method. This indicates that the proposed method is an effective way to improve visual acuity in a short period of time without the need for expensive equipment or a large training space. © 2024 IEEE.

The Internet of Things(IoT)is a modern approach that enables connection with a wide variety of devices *** to the resource constraints and open nature of IoT nodes,the routing protocol for low power and lossy(RPL)networks may be vulnerable to several routing ***’s why a network intrusion detection system(NIDS)is needed to guard against routing assaults on RPL-based IoT *** imbalance between the false and valid attacks in the training set degrades the performance of machine learning employed to detect network ***,we propose in this paper a novel approach to balance the dataset classes based on metaheuristic optimization applied to locality-sensitive hashing and synthetic minority oversampling technique(LSH-SMOTE).The proposed optimization approach is based on a new hybrid between the grey wolf and dipper throated optimization *** prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach,a set of experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of NIDS for three cases,namely,detection without dataset balancing,detection with SMOTE balancing,and detection with the proposed optimized LSHSOMTE *** results showed that the proposed approach outperforms the other approaches and could boost the detection *** addition,a statistical analysis is performed to study the significance and stability of the proposed *** conducted experiments include seven different types of attack cases in the RPL-NIDS17 *** on the 2696 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 proposed approach,the achieved accuracy is(98.1%),sensitivity is(97.8%),and specificity is(98.8%).

There has been a considerable increase in the use of drones,or unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),in recent times,for a wide variety of purposes such as security,surveillance,delivery,search and rescue operations,penetration of inaccessible or unsafe areas,*** increasing number of drones working in an area poses a challenge to finding a suitable charging or resting station for each drone after completing its task or when it goes low on its *** classical methodology followed by drones is to return to their pre-assigned charging station every time it requires a *** approach is found to be inefficient as it leads to an unnecessary waste of time as well as power,which could be easily saved if the drone is allotted a nearby charging station that is ***,we propose a drone-allocation model based on a preference matching algorithm where the drones will be allotted the nearest available station to land if the station is *** problem is modeled as three entities:Drones,system controllers and charging *** matching algorithm was then used to design a Drone-Station Matching *** simulation results of our proposed model showed that there would be considerably less power consumption and more time saving over the conventional *** would save its travel time and power and ensure more efficient use of the drone.

The conducted research aims to develop a computer vision system for a small-sized mobile humanoid robot. The decentralization of the servomotor control and the computer vision systems is investigated based on the hardware solution point of view, moreover, the required software level to achieve an efficient matched design is obtained. A computer vision system using the upgraded tiny-You Only Look Once (YOLO) network model is developed to allow recognizing and identifying objects and making decisions on interacting with them, which is recommended for crowd environment. During the research, a concept of a computer vision system was developed, which describes the interaction between the main elements, on the basis of which hardware modules were selected to implement the task. A structure of information interaction between hardware modules is proposed, and a connection scheme is developed, on the basis of which a model of a computer vision system is assembled for research, with the required algorithmic and software for solving the problem. To ensure the high speed of the computer vision system based on the ESP32-CAM module, the neural network was improved by replacing the Visual Geometry Group 16 (VGG-16) network as the base network for extracting the functions of the Single Shot Detector (SSD) network model with the tiny-YOLO lightweight network model, which made it possible to preserve the multidimensional structure of the network model feature graph, resulting in increasing the detection accuracy, while significantly reducing the amount of calculations generated by the network operation, thereby significantly increasing the detection speed, due to a limited set of objects. Finally, a number of experiments were carried out, both in static and dynamic environments, which showed a high accuracy of identifications. © The author(s) 2025.

Agriculture is changing into a more sustainable and productive sector as a result of the fusion of modern technologies, especially the Internet of Things (Io'T), with traditional farming methods. This shift, dubbed 'Smart Agriculture,' rethinks how farmers conduct cultivation, managing resources, and sustainability by using the power of online access, data analytics, and automation. A network of linked systems and gadgets that gather, transfer, and evaluate real-time data forms the basis of smart agriculture. With previously unheard-of precision and efficiency, farmers may now remotely track and supervise a variety of aspects of their farming activities thanks to this connectivity. The transformative influence of IoT on productivity, sustainability, or precision farming highlights the need for it in agriculture. A crucial element of smart agriculture is precision farming, which entails exact management of resources like pesticides, fertilizers, and water as well as real-time data processing. This study examines the ways in which integrated geospatial technologies, weather forecasting, and IoT -driven automation and actuation support productive and sustainable farming methods. The emphasis on aquaculture monitoring also draws attention to the wide range of uses for IoT in agriculture that go beyond conventional crop growing. The crucial part that IoT plays in meeting the growing need for food production on a worldwide scale while using scarce resources. Precision farming, management of water, and crop monitoring are made possible by Internet of Things technologies including sensors, drones, or automated machinery. These apps support environmental sustainability in agriculture, improve resource efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making. Digital Image Processing (DIP) is the ability to manipulate digital photographs via algorithms for pattern detection, segmentation, enhancement, and noise reduction. In addition, the Internet of Things (IoT) acts as the eye and system for all DIP in various applications. It can possess a camera or another image sensor in order to capture real-time data from its environment. All vital data is processed by image processing in such a way that it recognizes the object, detects an anomaly, and automatically decides in real-time. In addition, in an IoT system, the median filter is the technique used for noise reduction by substituting the value of the pixel with the central value of the surrounding pixels. It provides speed and efficiency for quick analysis in all IoT systems. However, the images can get corrupted, especially in resource-constrained IoT devices with small cameras, because of random glitches. Moreover, using new quantum technology like atomic-scale silicon dangling bond (DB) logic circuits, which have advanced in fabrication and become a strong contender for field-coupled nano-computing, can solve previous problems in IoT systems. In this paper, we propose a unique quantum CSM based on two new proposed Mux and De-mux. The proposed CSM can be used for computational circuits like median filter circuits (MFC) in a wide range of digital circuits, specifically IoT devices. The proposed design is verified and validated using the powerful SiQAD tool. When comparing CSM to the newest designs, the suggested quantum circuit uses 85% less energy and takes up 61% less area. © 2014 IEEE.
