It is well known that nowadays children tend to spend lot of time playing games on mobile devices at the expense of reading books. The current research aims to explore ways to design and develop a mobile application, attractive for children, that uses voice recognition technology and gamification techniques to help children read more and better and to track the progress of reading. The application is implemented with Flutter, Dart and Firebase and is addressed to children, the books being made available in encyclopedia format. By integrating technologies such as NLP and gamification the application aims to improve reading fluency among children, but also to give them the opportunity to accumulate new and exciting information in the same time. © 2023 IEEE.

Electric vehicles(EVs)are widely deployed throughout the world,and photovoltaic(PV)charging stations have emerged for satisfying the charging demands of EV *** paper proposes a multi-objective optimal operation method for the centralized battery swap charging system(CBSCS),in order to enhance the economic efficiency while reducing its adverse effects on power *** proposed method involves a multi-objective optimization scheduling model,which minimizes the total operation cost and smoothes load fluctuations,***,we modify a recently proposed multi-objective optimization algorithm of non-sorting genetic algorithm III(NSGA-III)for solving this scheduling ***,simulation studies verify the effectiveness of the proposed multi-objective operation method.

In this paper, we show that applying adaptive methods directly to distributed minimax problems can result in non-convergence due to inconsistency in locally computed adaptive stepsizes. To address this challenge, we propose D-AdaST, a Distributed Adaptive minimax method with Stepsize Tracking. The key strategy is to employ an adaptive stepsize tracking protocol involving the transmission of two extra (scalar) variables. This protocol ensures the consistency among stepsizes of nodes, eliminating the steady-state error due to the lack of coordination of stepsizes among nodes that commonly exists in vanilla distributed adaptive methods, and thus guarantees exact convergence. For nonconvex-strongly-concave distributed minimax problems, we characterize the specific transient times that ensure time-scale separation of stepsizes and quasi-independence of networks, leading to a near-optimal convergence rate of Õ(ε-(4+δ)) for any small δ > 0, matching that of the centralized counterpart. To our best knowledge, D-AdaST is the first distributed adaptive method achieving near-optimal convergence without knowing any problem-dependent parameters for nonconvex minimax problems. Extensive experiments are conducted to validate our theoretical results.

In the rapidly advancing landscape of intelligent medical technology, high-precision and widely applicable medical image segmentation techniques are pivotal in advancing personalized treatment plans and enhancing patient experiences. To address inherent obstacles, such as complex structures and features that are difficult to capture in segmentation tasks, we first propose a CMH module that merges convolutional neural networks (CNNs) with state space models (e.g., Mamba). This module hierarchically integrates CNN's local priors into the Mamba layer, adeptly capturing specific details of target objects and broader contextual information from different perspectives. Subsequently, we introduce an information fusion module based on Mamba (MIH), aimed at dynamically fusing feature information from different paths and levels to enhance feature expression and discrimination. Building upon the abovementioned modules, we develop an unexplored segmentation model, CMHNet, capable of flexibly capturing feature maps of varying scales and angles from medical images. In the experiments, we present CMHNet's distinguished performance in segmentation tasks through massive experiments on four medical datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

This work formulates the feedback control strategies for vehicles to reach a goal point amongst a field of dynamic risk regions. Whereas previous work has considered deterministic versions of this problem, we consider the scenario in the context of uncertainty. This uncertainty could be due to unknown wind or other external disturbances. The risk regions’ dynamics are tightly coupled to the state of the vehicle and as a result the task of navigating through a field dynamically changes as the vehicle traverses through it. Rather than using a nonlinear program solver, the approach taken here is one of formulating the problem as a stochastic optimal control problem wherein a feedback control law is derived. This feedback control law allows a single or multiple vehicles to reach the desired goal location efficiently and with minimal risk incursion. When inside a risk region, there is a probability rate of the vehicle being neutralized. The stochastic dynamical system is modeled as a hybrid system, i.e., regime switching diffusion. The hybrid system is comprised of continuous spatial dynamics and discrete operational states corresponding to "normal" and "neutralized". The optimal control problem is discretized into a field of vehicle states and control. Using Value Iteration, the control signal at each discrete location is optimized, providing a feedback control strategy over the field. Blockchain technology for shared electric vehicle (EV) charging makes use of a distributed ledger in handling different transactions which promotes authenticity in charging. However, this technology can be non-scalable at times which slows down the transaction rates as the scale increases in an organization and may also demand high computational as well as energy requirements which increases the inefficiency of the total system, the operating expenses of EV charging station, costs of energy utilized for charging, cost of maintenance and cost of station infrastructure may prove to be a weakness, impacting the feasibility of infrastructure deployment and upkeep expenses of the charging stations. To overcome these drawbacks, this paper proposes a hybrid method for blockchain technology with shared EV charging. The proposed approach combines the use of the Red Panda Optimization (RPO) with Similarity-Navigated Graph Neural Network (SNGNN). Hence, it is named as hybrid RPO-SNGNN approach. Reducing the operating cost of EV charging position and maximizes the security efficiency is the main aim of the proposed approach. To optimize scheduling and resource allocation by finding efficient paths by RPO and predict future demand and user behaviour patterns by SNGNN. By then, the proposed model has been put into practice on the MATLAB work platform and contrasted with other existing methods. The proposed technique outperforms all existing techniques, including Fuzzy-based Cross Hierarchical Reinforcement Q Learning (FCHRQL), Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm-Long Short-Term Memory Network (NSGA-II-LSTMN), and Ant Colony Optimization-Proximal Policy Optimization (ACO-PPO). The proposed method shows the operating cost of $550 and the security rate is 97%. From the result, the proposed approach operating cost is low and the security rate is high when compared to the existing approaches. © 2024 IEEE.

Tissue P systems are a class of distributed and parallel computing models inspired from inter-cellular communication and cooperation between cells. In this work, a variant of tissue P system, named tissue P system with look-ahead mode, is discussed for decreasing the inherent non-determinism of tissue P systems and helping implementing tissue P systems on computers. Such systems are proved to be universal by simulating register machine, and they are also proved to be able to efficiently solve computationally hard problems by means of a space-time tradeoff, which is illustrated with a polynomial solution to 3-coloring problem.

Complex systems often involve interconnected subsystem models developed by multi-disciplinary teams. To simulate and control such systems, a reduced-order model of the interconnected system is required. In the scope of this paper, we pursue this goal by subsystem reduction to warrant modularity of the reduction approach. However, reducing subsystem models affects not only the subsystems accuracy, but also the interconnected model accuracy, making it difficult to predict a priori the accuracy impact of subsystem reduction. To address this challenge, we introduce a top-down approach using mathematical tools from robust performance analysis, enabling the translation of accuracy requirements from the interconnected model to the subsystem level. This enables independent subsystem reduction while ensuring the desired accuracy of the interconnected model. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach through a structural dynamics case study. Copyright © 2023 The Authors. One of the most critical problems facing the blockchain technology industry right now is how to protect the privacy of users’ data on the blockchain in a way that is both effective and cheap. Based on the Pedersen commitment and the Schnorr protocol, this study comes up with a secure multi-party computing protocol (BPLSM). By making the structure of the protocol and doing formal proof calculations, it has been shown that the protocol can be used in the blockchain network to combine private messages for efficient signing while keeping people’s identities secret. Furthermore, by looking at the nature and security of the protocol, it is also possible to find that the BPLSM protocol on the blockchain has a low cost of computing and a high level of information secrecy. Furthermore, it was found that the BPLSM protocol takes less time to check than the current mainstream BLS signature in a simple multi-party transaction with a fixed number of participants. © 2024 The Author(s).
