The limitation of network bandwidth leads to data dropout of communication which degrades performance of NCS. For motion control system implemented with NCS, the missing interpolation messages will cause motion error and it can be compensated by applying the message estimator. However, the distribution of the missing data will be more relevant to motion accuracy in NCS even with the same dropout rate. This paper proposes a novel performance index, the short-window dropout quantities (SDQ) which is an estimation of both the data dropout rate and the messing message distribution, for the motion NCS. Furthermore, based on the estimation of SDQ. the intelligent motion message estimator (IMM) is proposed in this paper to effectively compensate for data dropout effect. Finally, simulation results of a multi-axis motion NCS indicate that the present IMM significantly improves motion contouring accuracy compared with the 1-delay estimator or the Taylor estimator. ©2009 ACA.

In previous studies on 4-DOF parallel mechanisms with four sub-chains, only symmetric arrangement of those four chains connected to the top plate was considered. Such symmetric shape sometimes falls into a sort of architetural singularity. This work demonstrates that an asymmetric placement of the four chains on the top platform is desired to minimize the effect of such architectural singularity. A new 4-DOF parallel mechanism exhibiting 4-DOF motion (3-DOF translational motion and one rotational motion) is examined as an exemplary device. This device consists of a base plate, an upper plate, and four hybrid subchains connecting those two plates together. The position analysis and kinematic modeling for this mechanism are performed, and an optimal design with respect to the workspace size and the kinematic isotropic characteristic is conducted. A set of offset angles on the top platform is found, which significantly minimizes the architectural singularity problem within the valid workspace of the mechanism. Then, through the analysis of the workspace and kinematic isotropic property for the optimized mechanism, its high potential for real applications is confirmed. Finally, the mechanism was developed to verify the motion capability.

Paper shows direct connection and implementation way of designed control schemas of prepared applications to an industrial WinPLC. Paper deals with industrial realization of feedback control of demanding applications on their control, control algorithms and visualization together with design, implementation and real time control from MATLAB/Simulink Environment. Described is a way to produce a permanent solution in control applications that are fully prepared, designed and implemented directly from MATLAB/Simulink to the target control platform. As a part, the mentioned solution is using a multiplatform control system REX as a bridge between MATLAB and target platforms. These methods allow minimizing costs of development of control of applications, because it produces target permanent realizations in comparison to classical development methods that usually need expensive real time measurement cards and produce only one purpose development solution. As next benefit the application is created for visualization the data from RT database during the measurement and control process. This last benefit produce an interesting data from real control process to give a next reason to use of WinCon solution.

According to the intelligent behavior of social population, two novel particle swarm algorithm optimization models are proposed by enhancing collaboration and information sharing capabilities of individuals. Benchmark function simulation results show the new algorithms, with both a better stability and a steady convergence, not only enhance the local searching efficiency and global searching performance greatly, but also have faster convergence speed and higher precision, and can avoid the premature convergence problem effectively.

It has been proven that network coding can provide significant benefits to network protocols. However, network coding is very vulnerable to pollution attacks. In recent years, many schemes have been designed to defend against these attacks, but as far as we know that almost all of them are merely suitable for single-source network coding system. In this paper, we proposed a homomorphic signature scheme based on bilinear pairings to stand against the security challenges in multi-source network coding, which is more prevalent than single-source network coding. This scheme can filter out all the forged packets coming from not only intermediate nodes but also source nodes. The signatures in our scheme have short size about 160 bits, and the senders needn't know all the message packets in advance.

The project deal with architecture design, system development and testing of software framework for data management and scheduling of personal sources in home care agencies. Development is started from analyses, over proposal, implementation to resulting testing of application, thereby try cast over whole problems software engineering. System consists of the three main parts PC application, mobile application and database server. All these parts are built on technology Microsoft .NET solutions for desktop and mobile PCs. System works offline, whereas synchronization mobile arrangement with data in database is made only in agency by the help of technology USB, Bluetooth or WiFi. Software layer synchronization administration data is based on technologies ADO .NET and Linq. System will further develop and will base for advancement biomedical science research framework.

Brain computer Interface (BCI) is a technology that developed over the last three decades has provided a novel and promising alternative method for interacting with the environment. BCI is a system which translates a subject's intentions into a control signal for a device, e.g., a computer application, a wheelchair or a neuroprosthesis. Electroencephalogram-based BCI has become a hot spot in the research of neural engineering, rehabilitation, and brain science. The artifacts are disturbance that can occur during the signal acquisition and that can alter the analysis of the signals themselves. Removing artifacts produced in Electroencephalogram (EEG) data by muscle activity, eye blinks and electrical noise is a common and important problem in EEG analysis. In this research, for artifact rejection, EEG data are filtered to the frequency range between 8 and 32 Hz with a butterworth band-pass filter. Finally two different structures of neural network and a support vector machine used to classify features that are extracted by Hilbert and Wavelet transform. © 2009 IEEE.

Algorithmic self-assembly, a generalization of crystal growth, has been proposed as a mechanism for the bottom-up fabrication of autonomous DNA computation. In theory, growth can be programmed by designing a set of molecular tiles with binding interactions that enforce assembly rules. There are many interesting applications of the reordering problem in Mathematics, as well as computer sciences. It is a useful primitive operation for computation and construction in the field of science and engineering. It is worth exploring more efficient approach to solve this problem. In this paper, we provide a description of a novel method for the reordering problem by use of the programmable tile assembly model. We propose the thought of block assembly model which takes full advantage of the huge parallelism inherent in the tile assembly. On the basis of the structural property, we delicately devise a rule to produce a long reporter strand which can connect all the inputs of the given problem with the final results. It is proved that this method can be extended to any reordering problem with arbitrary size in theory. The great advantage of our schema is that it only needs a constant number of tile types and in time linear with the size of the input problem to solve any reordering problem.

Disk scheduling algorithms have long been a topic of study in computer science. Many researchers studied the performance of the disk scheduling algorithms. However, perhaps due to the difficulty of implementation, those early works focused solely on exploring the basic ideas and comparing the performance of these algorithms. No one studied the effect of bad sectors in their performance. In this paper, the performance of the disk scheduling algorithms in the presence of bad sectors is studied. The mapping of bad sectors to spare sectors is considered. We use simulation to do the performance evaluation. Simulation results show that all disk scheduling algorithms are same when there is a high percentage of bad sectors and when the spare sectors are distributed at the end of the disk. It is shown also that with a high percentage of bad sectors, the disk scheduling algorithms perform better if the distribution of spare sectors is at the end of the disk. With a low percentage of bad sectors, the scheduling algorithms perform better if the distribution of spare sectors is within the entire disk. It is shown also that all scheduling algorithms are more sensitive to bad sectors in heavily loaded systems.

The paper deals with a variable speed wind turbine fitted with a DFIG (Doubly-Fed Induction Generator) vector control system. A new rotor active power feedback, under the cascade regulation superordinated both to the DFIG rotor current internal feedback and the DFIG stator power external feedback has been introduced. The DFIG vector control system fitted with an external rotor active power feedback enables the wind turbine rotation speed to be controlled by means of the rotor active power reference. By introducing a rotor active power feedback into the DFIG vector control system, a power flow control in the generator rotor circuit is rendered possible in both stationary and dynamic wind turbine operation modes. The DFIG vector control structure has proved to be particularly suited to wind turbines with pronounced wind speed time changes. The paper also discusses the wind turbine dynamic characteristics with and without a feedback rotor active power within the DFIG vector control system at varying and sudden variations in rotation speed.
