Majority of industrial pipelines and process vessels are constructed from conducting composites. This paper focusing on the hardware and software development of laboratory test Electrical Resistance Tomography (ERT) measurement methods to obtain the cross-sectional image of the conductivity distribution of gas bubble phantom in a static vertical metallic column filled with water. The system with sixteen sensors implementation was investigated on a stainless steel vertical column of 100 mm inner diameter. The conducting boundary strategy was applied as the measurement strategy. Software for the current study was developed using Graphical User Interface (GUI) application program in MATLAB. The software contains many functions to ease user to get necessary information from the research done. The cross section image of the bubble phantom was reconstructed using Linear Back Projection (LBP) algorithm after the data collection process was completed. The system has been tested and can successfully generate the phantom under test.

This paper describes the controlsystem for twin serial robot manipulators, installed on TIERA mobile robot, focusing in Robot Operating system (ROS) based control network and haptic feedback. Forward and inverse kinematics were used to translate the angular positions of Geomagic touch into joint angles of both UR10 manipulators. Force feedback allows the operator to sense forces applied to both grippers of robotic arms simultaneously using two Geomagic touch. Field tests of TIERA have shown that haptic feedback was established accurately, directions of forces inside the haptic device correspond with directions of forces affecting the gripper, and the current scaling coefficient is enough to sense forces on the haptic device.

This work presents the modeling and the control of an Off-grid Photovoltaic (PV) system which consisted of a monocristalline PV module, a DC load, a DC-DC boost converter and a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) bloc. The output characteristic of the PV module is nonlinear and changes with solar irradiance and temperature. So, for given climatic conditions, the PV module output power is maximal when its voltage equals to a certain value. When temperature and solar irradiance change, the duty cycle of the converter considered as the control law is continuously adjusted to track the maximum power point (MPP) of the module. This paper highlights the non-linear Backstepping controller to extract the maximum power from the PV system. Asymptotic stability of the system is verified through Lyapunov stability analysis. The simulations results show that the proposed controller offers fast and accurate tracking of the MPP whatever is the change of the climatic conditions.

The aim of this text is to show that when approximating a 2nd order system with one double pole and with a dead time (DT), the approximation with the generalized Laguerre Function (GLF) for large DT gives better results than with the simple Laguerre function (SLF). For a given required integral square error (ISE), the GLF series has a smaller number of terms. However, for small DT, there is an area in which the SLF approximation gives a smaller ISE error.
