In this paper,we derive the average symbol error rate(SER) for the ND-symbol burst hybrid adaptive decodeor-amplify-forward(HADF) relaying vehicle-to-infrastructure(V2I) communication systems over quasi-static independent and non-identical distributed(INID) Rayleigh fading *** proposed analytical approach includes channel estimation(CE)errors generated by practical pilot symbol assisted-CE(PSACE) ***,based on the error-events at relaying on board equipments(OBEs) for ND-symbol burst data transmission,the conditional SER expression has been derived as an exact ***,the approximated average SER(ASER)expressions are presented as the closed-forms and their accuracy is confirmed by the comparison with simulation ***,we can conclude that our analytical expressions are tractable forms,and can be used as a tool to verify effects of an erroneous detection and hybrid transmission at each relaying OBE on the combined signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and ASER for cooperative HADF relaying communication systems.

In this paper, a self-tuning Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller is applied to a multivariable sludge process model. The activated sludge process model is obtained using prediction error method (PEM) with best fits of higher than 80%. The obtained model is then reduced with two model reduction techniques, i.e. Moore's balanced model reduction and Enn's frequency weighted model reduction technique. For control purposes, PI and PID controllers are implemented heuristically. Therefore, to optimize these controllers, particle swarm optimization (PSO) technique is utilized as optimization algorithm in order to tune the PID parameters. From the results obtained, it is observed that the self-tuned PI controller yields a best result for the activated sludge process with a faster settling time and less percentage overshoot.

This paper presents some applications of the techniques well known as input shaping, focused on control of flexible structures. Zero Vibration (ZV) shaper defined by a sequence of two impulses can drive a system without undesirable vibrations. Such shaper can be regarded as a time delay system with a standard lumped delay. Alternatively, though, new shapers with increased robustness and more natural response can be devoloped as described in the paper if a distributed delay element is used instead. Performance of the distributed-delay shaper is demonstrated by means of a laboratory experiment and it is compared to the standard limped-delay solution. A setup composed of a lightweight flexible beam attached to the Quanser rotating table is utilized.

The goal of the economic load dispatch is to determine the optimal power outputs of on-line generating units in order to meet the load demand subject to satisfying various operational constraints over finite dispatch periods. Finding optimal solutions to these problems requires efficient optimization algorithms. Firefly algorithm and bat algorithm are the most recent methods and they already proved there efficient, but their aspect random present a disadvantage which is the instability of the results, indeed they depend on the random initial values generated by the program. To solve this problem, we tried to hybrid firefly algorithm and bat algorithm, and to test our new algorithm we applied it to a standard electric network of 5 buses with three buses generator and we compared the result obtained with those obtained by other methods.
