Anisotropic diffusion is one of the widely used techniques in the field of image process. Tremendous applications show promising results by using anisotropic diffusion algorithm or its revisions. In this paper, we propose a new anisotropic diffusion method which is based on PID (proportional-integral-derivative) control law together with a stopping mechanism. The PID control law is a simple and intuitive law in cybernetics and it has been proven to be effective to improve the system's performance. In this new approach, according to the different processing purpose for edge and noise, different PID control parameters are chosen. Therefore, anisotropic diffusion approach is carried out more efficiently. Moreover, the proposed stopping mechanism is based on the linear correlation theory, which indicates the similarity of two images. Incorporating with this mechanism, anisotropic diffusion is able to stop automatically when the processed image reaches the certain predefined performance target. The experiments show the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed method

In this paper, a model predictive control is proposed for the hybrid systems with constrained control input based on piecewise affine (PWA) model. The constrained control input of the considered systems is solved in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). An additional terminal ellipsoid is introduced to ensure the states converging to the equilibrium faster. The control law is obtained by convex optimization involving LMIs. The simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. It is shown that, based on LMI constraints, it is easy to get the model predictive control for the hybrid systems and is suitable for practical application

Image segmentation is a fundamental image process technique and plays an essential role in ultrasound image analysis. In this article, we propose an algorithm for image segmentation which is based on the random neural network (RNN) and features extracted by a bank of Gabor filters. With the scientists' work, it is revealed that Gabor functions act as some functions of human vision. And the RNN model proposed by Gelenbe is closer to biophysical reality and mathematically more tractable, in which signals in the form of impulses are transmitted with a certain probability. The segmentation algorithm based on these two techniques provide a good distinguish and classification capability for textures in the image. Furthermore, a strategy which is named as quartered segmentation strategy is also presented here in order to reduce the computation and speed up our approach. The presented algorithm is tested on an image produced by using Brodatz album and an ultrasound image, and the results are promising

Digital closed-loop FOG detection scheme based on square wave bias and digital phase ramp feedback technique is introduced. A novel implementation of the detection scheme is developed with digital signal processor (DSP) and field programmable gate array (FPGA). Design and implementation of the detection system are discussed. Timing control and closed-loop signal processing and are implemented in FPGA. To restrain the random noise in the real-time system, an adaptive transverse filter is designed based on the least mean square (LMS) algorithm and is implemented in DSP for real-time filtering. Experiments and tests show that good performances have been achieved and the implementation scheme is of great practical value

This paper presents a modified compensation scheme of nonlinear forces in the DC motor system. The paper's contribution is to add repetitive control scheme into the decomposition-based control compensation scheme. Robust adaptive compensator is derived to compensate for the influence of the nonlinear friction forces and ripple force in the system. Moreover, the inducted repetitive controller is motivated by the attempt to improve the system motion trajectory tracking performance. The combination of the compensator and the repetitive controller yields the overall control law. The system stability and the uniformly ultimately position tracking performance are guaranteed by utilizing Lyapunov method. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated by computer simulations for high-precision servo system.

An improved second-order AR estimator is proposed for color flow imaging. It can give accurate estimation in the presence of very intensive clutter signal. Traditionally, the performance of the second-order AR estimator may be degraded by the clutter when the amplitude of the clutter is very large compared with the Doppler signal, because very large clutter will shift the Doppler pole toward low frequency. The improved second-order AR estimator which we propose in this paper can remedy this problem by first estimating the mean frequency of the clutter signal and then compensating the frequency down-shift of the Doppler signal using this mean frequency. Simulation results show that the improved AR estimator can give more accurate estimate of the mean frequency and variance of the blood signal than the conventional one, even if the amplitude of the clutter is very large compared with Doppler signal

An algorithm called the stock predictor algorithm is designed in this paper. It can be used in distributed control systems which have these characteristics: (1) it contains lots of sub-systems. (2)Every sub-system could be controlled using a predicted value. (3) Within a certain sub-system, it will not do much harm to the whole system even if the predicted value differs greatly from the actual value. (4) The sub-system could be non-linear, time-dependent, but it will not change quickly. The stock predictor algorithm described in this paper used a method similar to the way used by the stock-holders towards the stock predictors in the stock market. It applied several different control algorithms (viewed as stock predictors) to every controlled object (sub-systems) in every circle. Within each sub-system, according to the historical precision of every stock predictor, we use a weighted average value as the preferred predict value of that sub system. Then, when the cycle comes to an end, the stock predictors update their algorithms according to the difference between the predicted value and the actual value. Based on this algorithm, we applied the stock predictor algorithm on a heating system, and got an optimized control strategy which is proved to be both efficient and economical.

In this paper, a model-based image recognition method is studied, which can track an object with an unpredictable motion and changeable image shapes by using Genetic algorithm searching techniques on the unprocessed raw images. We take the advantages of genetic algorithm's global and parallel searching ability by coding the target's image information into genes of genetic algorithm's chromosomes. Some context information of the target, such as neighborhood principle between consecutive image frames, is also used to enhance the matching algorithm's robustness and reduce its computation time. The feather tracking practices show that this method works.

In this paper, we studied the activation function of chaotic neural network, at first we review Chen''s chaotic neural network and then propose a novel chaotic neural network model whose activation function is compose of sigmoid and wavelet function. Second, we make an analysis of the largest Lyapunov exponents and the reversed bifurcations of the neural units of Chen''s and the proposed model. Third, 10-city traveling salesman problem (TSP) is given to make a comparison between them. Finally we conclude that the novel chaotic neural network model we propose is more valid

An adaptive predictive control method is presented for nonlinear discrete system by introducing multi-layer recursive method into the predictive control strategy. In this method, nonlinear system is substituted with a time-varying linear system firstly, and then multi-layer recursive is used to identify and to forecast the varied parameters in order to get the predictive output of system model. At last, adaptive predictive control is designed for the original nonlinear system. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the presented method
