In this paper a new approach to the problem of rigid body registration is proposed, using a concept of nonlinear correlation information entropy (NCIE) as the new matching criterion. The presented method applies NCIE to measure the correlation degree between the image intensities of corresponding voxel in both images. Registration is achieved by adjustment of the relative position until the NCIE between the images is maximized. However, unlike the mutual information, NCIE changes in the closed interval [0, 1], and around the extremum it varies sharply, which makes it possible that a threshold of NCIE can be used to boost the search to registration transformation. Using this feature of NCIE, we registered a rotated floating image with a reference image combined the variant step-size searching for further enhancing the searching speed. Our results demonstrate the proposed method can take care the differences in contrast between the floating and reference images. Meanwhile, as the mutual information, NCIE criterion can be achieved automatically and without any preprocessing

A contour extraction algorithm for a moving target is proposed. This algorithm consists of three steps. Firstly, motion segmentation is applied respectively to infrared and visible image sequences to get an initial contour of a moving target. Secondly, a dynamic contour is applied to make the initial contour converge to the target's contour. Finally, two novel image fusions are applied. The first fusion minimizes L2 norm's square of the difference of control point vectors in two modal images without image registration. The second fusion is realized by the modified differential coupling with image registration. Contrasting detection experiments indicate the second fusion is better. Meanwhile, a fast iteration algorithm of dynamic contour based on the Newmark method is devised. A contrasting experiment indicates its iteration time for stable convergence decreases by 21.01% compared with the Wilson-θ method.

A system with both control and disturbance inputs is constrained input-to-state stabilizable if there exist feedback control laws that render the closed-loop system constrained input-to-state stable (cISS) with respect to the disturbance. Based on a control Lyapunov function, Sontag type controllers to the constrained input-to-state stabilization problem is constructed for a class of nonlinear systems, and it is shown that input-to-state stabilizability implies (arbitrary) constrained input-to-state stabilizability, but the converse is not true. Moreover, the constrained input-to-state stabilizability is both necessary and sufficient for the solvability of an inverse optimal problem. The designed controllers remain cISS against a certain class of input uncertainties, even input unmodeled dynamics.

Input-to-state stability (ISS), integral-ISS (iISS) and their related notions of input/output stability and detectability have become a useful framework for nonlinear feedback analysis and design. In this paper, a new notion, that of constrained input-to-state stability (cISS), is presented and several characterizations of cISS are obtained. cISS, unlike ISS or iISS, is not confined to forward complete systems and generalizes the small-signal L ∞ stability. Moreover, for a class of nonlinear systems, constrained input-to-state stabilizability implies the solvability of an inverse optimal problem. The paper shows that cISS is a natural concept to improve the ISS framework.

In order to eliminate displacement and elastic deformation between images of adjacent frames in course of 3D ultrasonic image reconstruction, elastic registration based on skeleton feature was adopt in this paper. A new automatically skeleton tracking extract algorithm is presented, which can extract connected skeleton to express figure feature. Feature points of connected skeleton are extracted automatically by accounting topical curvature extreme points several times. Initial registration is processed according to barycenter of skeleton. Whereafter, elastic registration based on radial basis function are processed according to feature points of skeleton. Result of example demonstrate that according to traditional rigid registration, elastic registration based on skeleton feature retain natural difference in shape for organr s different part, and eliminate slight elastic deformation between frames caused by image obtained process simultaneously. This algorithm has a high practical value for image registration in course of 3D ultrasound image reconstruction.

In the framework of LMI optimization, the H/sub /spl infin// tracking scheme is consequently formulated as on-line solving the constrained H/sub /spl infin//control problem at each sampling time, updated with the actual state and the actual model parameters. By using dissipation theory, we discuss the properties inclusive of stability and H/sub /spl infin// performance. Simulation is performed to highlight the effectiveness of the proposed control law.

This paper build a statistical model of the polarity detection problem, based on this model, the original polarity detection scheme and the optimal detection scheme are analyzed and compared. The theoretical analysis results are validated by Monte Carlo simulation, the optimal polarity detector shows significant performance gain compared with the original polarity detection algorithm.

A novel iris recognition method based on multi-texture feature fusion is presented in the paper. The extraction of the texture features with different resolutions in different directions are carried out by performing Gabor wavelet transform for iris image and the extracted features are used as global features of iris. The local features of iris are extracted by applying gray scale level Co-Occurrence Matrix (COM) to the filtered sub-window image. The global features and local features will be recognized and sorted by weighting Euclidean distance and the minimum distance, respectively. A sorting method with Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) feature fusion is designed to improve the robustness of iris recognition. Experimental results show that the method is effective and feasible with recognition ratio up to 98.5%, False Acceptance Rates (FAR) lower than 0.1% while False Rejection Rates (FRR) keeping 1.4%.
