The problem of variable structure adaptive fuzzy control for a class of nonlinear time delay systems is investigated. Sliding surface dependent of the time delay is constructed based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii method. Two adaptive fuzzy logic systems are proposed to approximate two unknown continuous nonlinear functions containing the current state and the delayed state respectively. The corresponding reaching law is designed, which can drive the state trajectory of the closed-system onto the sliding surface within limited time.

A new fuzzy identification algorithm is proposed in this paper, which include five blocks: input variables partition block, fast-cluster block, genetic algorithm block, tuning block and termination block. Fast-cluster block is to identify antecedent parameters of T-S model speedily. Tuning block is to fine tune the parameters of T-S model using the gradient descent approach and termination block checks if the result is satisfactory. The proposed algorithm not only has the advantage of simplicity, but also has high accuracy, strong automation. The simulations indicate that the algorithm is effective in constructing T-S model for complex nonlinear systems.

According to NARX dynamic network, a learning algorithm of improved RTRL is presented in this paper and applied to adaptive inverse control system, which consists of two NARX neural networks: one is applied to identify the controlled plant; the other approximates inverse transfer function of the plant. The online training method using NARX is also described in detail. Practical simulation results show NARX-based identifier and controller are feasible and the given algorithm is efficient in the application of adaptive inverse control (AIC).

This paper is concerned with the problem of fuzzy guaranteed cost control of time-delay system with parametric uncertainties based on T-S model. By making out the singular value of the matrix, the biggest extension of uncertainty is found. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a control law and an upper bound of cost function for the closed-loop system are given in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). It is proved that such an optimal fuzzy guaranteed cost control law exists. A procedure is given to select an optimal fuzzy guaranteed cost controller to minimize the upper bound of quadratic performance index.

This paper discusses the problem of robust L/sub 1/ filtering with pole constraint in a disk for linear continuous polytopic uncertain systems. The attention is focused on the design of full-order and reduced-order filters with suitable dynamic behavior via parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions such that the filtering error system remains robustly stable, and has a guaranteed L/sub 1/ performance constraint and pole constraint in a disk. Ternary solution with NaCl and sucrose is widely employed in the osmotic dehydration process of food. In this paper we present a multifunctional sensor capable of directly sensing temperature and two physical parameters of solutions, namely ultrasonic velocity and electrical conductivity. By combination measurement of these three measurable parameters, the concentrations of various components in ternary solution with NaCl and sucrose can be simultaneously determined. A regression algorithm based on natural cubic spline interpolation and the least squares method is developed to estimate the concentrations of NaCl and sucrose, which considers the temperature influence on the multifunctional sensor and then enables decoupling of the reconstruction of concentrations in 4D space into 3D space. This sensor could prove valuable as a process control sensor in food industry.

This paper proposes a fully digitized hardware design scheme of a vector-controlled servo controller, which is verified and implemented on one-chip field programmable gate arrays (FPGA), for high-performance servo drives of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). This scheme integrates the vector control strategy, the M/T speed measurement algorithm, the PI regulating technique and the SVPWM principle as well as the EDA design methodology, and it will be a good substitute for traditional PMSM drives practice. The realized control IC also contains a standard host communication interface, which enables the on-line configuration for all kinds of control parameters. The actual sample frequencies of the torque loop and the speed loop are limited by the selected FPGA; with respect to the Altera FPGA prototype mentioned in this paper, the two loops can respectively obtain a sample frequency of 40kHz and 20kHz as well as a bandwidth of 5 kHz and 400 Hz. Experimental results indicate that the controller can provide a controllable speed range from 0.2 RPM to 10,000 RPM with satisfactory dynamic and static performances.

This paper presents a new design scheme of space vector PWM integrated circuit, including linear and overmodulation ranges. The proposed scheme is implemented and verified on a single Xilinx FPGA. Experimental results show that this controller can present an excellent drive performance and its switching frequency, which can be set to 40 kHz, is adjustable as well as its dead time. The SVPWM IC has been used in closed vector control of AC servo drive system.
