This paper is devoted to the problem of state estimation for a class of dynamic system with multiple nonlinear-linear (NL) mixing state constraints. A computational algorithm was developed by C. Yang and E. Blasch to incorporate a positive definite quadratic form equality constraint into the Kalman filtering for the ground vehicle tracking. However, when the target tracked in multidimensional space, a single positive definite quadratic form constraint is not enough due to the involvement of other surface such as hyperboloid, paraboloid, or even plane. A analytic method of incorporating multiple nonlinear-linear mixing state constraints into the Kalman filter is presented here, and a sufficient condition is obtained that guarantee the existence of solution. The constraints may be time varying. At each time step the unconstrained Kalman filter solution is projected onto the state constraints surface. This significantly improves the prediction accuracy of the filter. The use of this algorithm is demonstrated on a nonlinear-linear mixing spacecraft positioning problem.

The dynamic equations of a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), namely Qball-X4, are analyzed and built, trajectory tracking control design based on an inner/outer loop control structure is proposed in this paper. The method of analytic geometry is used in dead-reckoning, discrete Kalman filter has been applied to trajectory tracking for improving the accuracy of estimated location. Integrated online waypoints pre-planning and trajectory tracking control have been carried out. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

The aim is to develop an uninterrupted processing route to manufacture metal coils, so that the efficiency of production, as well as the quality of the product and the cost-efficiency can be improved. The traditional method of joining two metal sheets is by welding;however the welding process itself can easily introduce additional processing steps and pile up the cost of production. In the past, joining two metal sheets with identical composition by the rolling process has not been easy. The present study induces dissimilarity between two sheets, i.e. pre-heat treatment for one plate to result grain growth. Experimental results indicate that such introduction of dissimilarity between two metal parts can significantly improve the roll bonding process, not only making the joint much stronger than the traditional welding technique, this newly developed method can enhance the efficiency of the production of metal coils in industries. © 2009 The Japan Institute of Metals doi:10.2320/matertrans.M2009153.

This intelligent analysis instrument is equipped TFT LCD as displaying terminal. First, timing and logic requirements of a typical TFT LCD are introduced. Hardware circuit between microprocessor S3C2410 and TFT LCD module are designed. Then, based on Windows CE, developing software driver code mainly focus on setting related registers of displaying interface and adjusting the position of displaying area. Thus, system will be displayed fluently and stably. Practice has proved that the TFT LCD hardware and software design is an effective solution for the application.

In present study, a quantitative analytical approach has been taken to evaluate means to protect copper alloys (nickel silvers) against surface discoloration under the exposure of high temperatures. The aim is to propose future direction to further improve the surface protection against oxidation for nickel silver plates. Two approaches have been taken: one is to apply surface coating, another is to refine the subsurface grain structure in the bare substrate. Samples of nickel silver (C7521 and C7701) with and without surface coatings were exposed to 300C and 350C, respectively, for lOmin. Tested samples were then subjected to spectral colorimeter studies;phase identifications were carried out by XRD. In addition, the coating procedures were carefully studied in order to determine the optimal processing parameters for yielding the maximum protection. In conclusions, coating thickness does not affect the resistance against discoloration, pre-treatment of the substrate surfaces as well as the concentration and soak time of the anti-discoloration solutions can greatly influence the performances of the entire system against the occurrence of surface discoloration. ©2009 The Thermoelectrics Society of Japan.

This paper deals with the robust iterative learning control(ILC) for time-delay systems(TDS) with both model and delay *** ILC algorithm with anticipation in time is considered,and a frequency-domain approach to its design is *** shows that a necessary and sufficient convergence condition can be provided in terms of three design parameters:the lead time,the learning gain,and the performance weighting *** particular,if the lead time is chosen as just the delay estimate,then the convergence condition is derived independent of the delay and the *** this case,with the selection of the performance weighting function,the perfect tracking can be achieved,or the least upper bound of the L2-norm of the limit tracking error can be guaranteed less than the least upper bound of the L2-norm of the initial tracking error.

This paper is concerned with the iterative learning control(ILC) problem for discrete-time systems with iterationvarying *** the so-called super-vector approach to ILC,the discrete domain bounded real lemma is employed to develop a sufficient condition ensuring both the stability and the desired H∞ performance of the ILC *** is shown that this sufficient condition can be presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs),which can also determine the learning gain matrix.A numerical simulation example is included to validate the theoretical results.

A modified predictive optimal control (MPOC) scheme based on neural network modeling and particle swarm optimization (PSO) techniques is proposed in this paper for reheater steam temperature (RST) control of a large-scale boiler unit. A recurrent neural network is trained to directly model the temperature dynamic response of the reheater system. The neural network direct model is then used to evaluate the performance of the MPOC in search of the optimal control, where optimization is carried out with the PSO. A simplified PSO algorithm with search direction control is designed to find the nearest and optimal controls for the reheater steam temperature. To further improve the optimal search accuracy, each last-step prediction error between the direct model output and the actual RST is added to the current-step cost function to compensate for the model error. control tests on a full-scope simulator of a large scale power generating unit have shown the validity of the proposed method.

Firstly, the paper takes National Topographic Database by assuming DEM (digital elevation model) with 1:250,000 scale as a data source, extracts simulated drainage network by using Arc Hydro Tools 9.2. Secondly, a new coding method is presented, which can reflect the topology of drainage network. It becomes easily to locate any reach of drainage network directly and operate the topology of drainage network effectively. Finally, this coding method is applied to Hunhe drainage system of Liaohe basin. The successful application proves that the self-replicating code has excellent expansibility and high efficiency, and can be handled easily by the computer.
