The study investigates the challenges posed by' partial shading conditions' (PSCs) on a performance and efficiency of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The primary goal is to find the best photovoltaic array setup to optimize power output while reducing efficiency losses caused by mismatching. The researchers evaluate various PV configurations such as Series (S), Series-Parallel (SP), Total Cross Tied (TCT), Bridge Linked (BL), Honey Comb (HC), and a hybrid of TCT and BL called TCT-BL, focusing on a 4x4 array layout. Six different shading patterns are examined, including diagonal, 'short and narrow', 'short and wide', 'long and narrow', 'long and wide', and random. Based on simulations using Matlab/Simulink and a 130W PV module model, the study suggests that the TCT-BL configuration offers superior power generation, efficiency, and reduced mismatching loss compared to other configurations under most PSCs examined. © 2023 IEEE.

The technology of reconfigurable optical networks (RONs) is growing to be a promising solution to effectively cater to the rapidly increasing traffic generated by the digital society. Optical technology emerges as a viable alternative because to its capacity to offer a substantial bandwidth, little latency, and enhanced overall performance. Nevertheless, it is imperative to effectively manage the physical resources comprising a data center. This study provides an experimental demonstration of the RONs, which is enhanced by a control plane. The implementation relies on the monitoring of real-time network statistics. This enables the execution of various activities, including as network slice provisioning and reconfiguration, assignment of packet priority classes, and dynamic operations. These actions are performed to ensure the attainment of the desired Quality of Service level. The experimental results show the successfully implementation of RONs using Mininet Emulator and sFlow traffic monitoring technology. The results approve that optical datacenter has minimum delay with low OSNR even with long distance and fast switching time. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, the concept of the smart grid and the emerging challenges of wireless communication technology for use on the smart grid (SG)is reviewed. One modern-day technology of great significance is wireless sensor networks (WSNs), which has the potential to ensure the smooth operation of smart grid management and increase its energy efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness. The advanced electric power grid infrastructure known as smart grid takes advantage of automated control and cutting-edge communication strategies to achieve greater efficiency, reliability and safety, whilst seamlessly combining renewable and alternative sources of energy. Unlike conventional communication technologies, WSNs are more beneficial to modern electric power systems because they are affordable and operate on a cooperative basis. For this reason, WSNs are considered to have good potential for improving the way electric power is produced, distributed and used. Therefore, they are a key element of the smart grid. Nevertheless, the implementation of WSNs in smart grid settings may be inadequately reliable due to the complexity and unfavourable aspects of electric power system environments. The purpose of the current work is to review WSN uses in electric power systems and the opportunities and difficulties offered by this technology, as well as to delineate possible facets of smart grid applications and wireless technologies that future research could explore. Solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays experience a significant surge in power losses due to Partially Shaded Conditions (PSCs). The presence of clouds, shadows from tall structures, trees, chimneys, and bird droppings can lead to these PSCs. When PV modules are shaded, they go into reverse bias, causing small hotspots to form and increase the system's overall temperature. To mitigate this issue, bypass diodes can be connected antiparallel to the PV modules, although this leads to multiple peaks in the I-V and P-V characteristics. Along with the challenges presented by hotspots, mismatch losses between different modules further, reduce the electricity output of a PV array. The research in focus is designed to evaluate, model, simulate, and analyze the effectiveness of several 4x4 PV array configurations operating under diverse PSCs. Topologies such as series-parallel, bridge-link, honeycomb, and total cross-tied (TCT) are investigated, along with different partial shading patterns like corners, centers, ends, L-shapes, frames, random, and diagonals. These investigations are grounded on the technical specifications of a 130-watt PV module.

The improvement of 5G networks started in 2019 and is commonly accepted to bring changes not restricted to individuals' day-by-day life. The interconnection between the nodes of 5G network is realized through the utilization of optical transceiver modules and optical fibers. The most interesting part in the 5G communication network is the communication between the Central Office (CO) and the Base Station (BS), which has been widely investigated by several researchers to enhance and optimize such network performance. As a result, in this paper we demonstrate, design and implemented a) based on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM Radio over Fiber (RoF) system and by using the software of Optisystem 17.1 version. Such system is considered a 32X40 Gbps of data transmission for higher speed transmission system towards the Tera bit per second (Tbps) communication. The channels of 1, 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28 and 32 were selected as samples for the investigation. The performance analysis would be based on the parameters of the eye diagram, (Quality Factor) Q-factor and Min Bit Error Rate (BER) and for distances of 60, 120 and 180 km respectively. Analyzing results indicate a higher performance system toward the 1.28 Tbps of data rate transmission. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Speed control of PMDC motors finds applications in various industries. For certain structures, the controller of Proportional, Integral and Derivative (PID) is typically the first choice because of its ease of execution and fast tuning. So, all conventional techniques and optimization stochastic for PID controller tuning provide preliminary feasible parameters for, and. This paper uses traditional PID and nonlinear PID to control the speed of the PMDC motor, which is tuned by Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The methodology is demonstrated by performing simulations using the MATLAB tool. The simulation results exhibit that the role of the nonlinear PID based scheme is more robust than the traditional PID controller, as well as the speed, tracked the desired reference rabidly. © 2021 IEEE.

In recent years, the incidence of skin lesions has been one of the most rapidly increasing of all commonly occurring cancers. This deadliest form of melanoma must be detected early to be effectively treated. Because of the trouble and objectivity of human clarification, a significant research field has developed around the computerized examination of dermoscopy images. One reason to apply swarm intelligence systems is that an optimal solution can be advanced with a sensible computational application. This work introduces an artificial bee colony technique (ABC), distinctions, and applications. The planned ABC is a more suitable algorithm and one that requires smaller amounts of factors that need to be adjusted in comparison to other modern artificial swarm intelligence techniques (MASITs) for distinguishing unhealthy in skin tumor lesions. In these swarm's intelligence optimization algorithms have been positively executed for melanoma problems and provided extraordinary results guidance to better prediction and investigation of the skin cancer lesions. The experimental outcomes propose that the planned process proficient a developed accuracy associated to the ground truth (GT) used skin lesions’ dermatology. So, we will be able to use these in a future study with different databases. © 2020 EAI.
