In the context of Industrial Anomaly Detection (IAD), ensuring the quality of manufactured products is critical. Traditional 2D based methods often fail to capture anomalies present in complex 3D shapes. For effective anomaly detection in 3D shapes, it is essential to incorporate global semantic context, local geometric structure, and color information of the object. To fully leverage these features, we propose a network named 2M3DF, that leverages knowledge from multi-view RGB images and corresponding point cloud information for enhanced anomaly detection performance. Our model initially employs pre-trained feature extractors that generate local features from multi-view RGB images and corresponding point clouds. The novel inter-modality feature representation and fusion module first adapts these inter-modality features and then effectively aligns and aggregates these multimodality features on a pixel-to-point basis. To learn the normality from point-wise fused multimodal features, we fit a multivariate Gaussian distribution to model the normal feature distribution. Comprehensive experimental evaluations using the MVTec3D-AD and Eyecandies dataset validate the effectiveness of our propose model and demonstrate significant improvements in comparison to existing state-of-the-art methods. Our model achieves a 96.6% mean I-AUROC while delivering real-time results. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

This paper examines the problem of optimal deception attacks against state estimation with partially secured measurements, where smart sensors transmit innovation sequences to the remote end for information fusion. Due to resource limitations or defensive countermeasures, the adversary can only modify data packets transmitted through unreliable channels. Meanwhile, the attack should be synthesized with sophistication to deceive an anomaly detector. To investigate the vulnerabilities of such estimation systems without feedback links and enhance security performance, the optimal attack policy is derived by formulating and explicitly solving a convex optimization problem, with the goal of maximizing the sum of estimation errors. Subsequently, a novel attack detection and resilient state estimation algorithm is proposed to ensure an acceptable level of estimation accuracy. The theoretical performance metrics, including false alarm rates for the proposed detector, are provided. Finally, the effectiveness of the results is confirmed through numerical examples. © 2014 IEEE.

Temporal and Spatial Perception: A Novel Perceptual Rate-Distortion Optimization Method for H.266/VVC Encoding

Introducing saliency information to mitigate perceptual redundancy and achieve superior compression represents a novel approach to the development of video compression. Existing saliency-based compression coding methods rely on the determination of saliency regions and focus too much on saliency regions while ignoring the perceptible distortion in non-saliency regions. We propose a spatiotemporal visual perceptual rate-distortion optimization (PRDO) algorithm for Versatile Video Coding (H.266/VVC) that is more in line with the human visual system (HVS). Firstly, we establish a linear weighted distortion model based on spatiotemporal and saliency features. The distortion model makes effective use of saliency features while considering image content in non-saliency regions that is still perceptible to the human eye, thereby achieving an overall visual effect that conforms to human subjective perception. Based on this distortion model, we propose a saliency adaptive quantization parameter (SAQP) selection method with a more flexible quantization parameter selection range, adaptively allocating the optimal coding unit quantization parameter according to the saliency regions of the image, ensuring a balanced bitrate allocation between saliency and non-saliency regions. The proposed method is implemented for the first time on the H.266/VVC coding standard, attaining an average bitrate saving of 19.9% across all test sequences and an average PSNR improvement of 2.65 dB in saliency regions compared to VTM16.0. The BD-EWPSNR of the proposed PRDO and SAQP method improves by 1.34 dB and 1.45 dB in the All-Intra and Lowdelay-P encoding modes, respectively. Additionally, the BD-Rate based on EWPSNR is reduced by 25.86% and 33.73%, respectively, with an overall compression coding time saving of 19.76%. The correlation between the co-infection of human respiratory adenovirus (HAdV) and clinical severity has not been firmly established yet. We carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis. We scoured six databases for studies published up to 16 May 2024. A total of 66 cohort studies, which involved 16 251 participants, were incorporated. When compared with patients suffering from HAdV single infection, those with co-infection of viruses (risk ratios [RRs] = 1.40, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.05–1.86), bacteria (RR = 1.50, 95% CI: 1.05–2.16), or fungi (RR = 2.86, 95% CI: 2.17–3.76) were more prone to experience severe clinical outcomes. Co-infection with Mycoplasma pneumoniae had a tendency to elevate the risk of common pneumonia (RR = 1.81, 95% CI: 1.66–1.97), and bacterial co-infection was likely to extend the hospital stay (mean differences = 2.23 days, 95% CI: 0.44–4.03). In summary, the co-infection of HAdV with other viral, bacterial, fungal respiratory pathogens or Mycoplasma pneumoniae heightened the risk of severe clinical outcomes in pediatric patients, leading to an increased utilization of medical resources. This implied that the ecological and biological mechanisms underlying the potential interactions between HAdV and other microorganisms merited further investigation. © 2025 The Author(s). Evolutionary Algorithm Based on Surrogate and Inverse Surrogate Models for Expensive Multiobjective Optimization

When dealing with expensive multiobjective optimization problems, majority of existing surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms (SAEAs) generate solutions in decision space and screen candidate solutions mostly by using designed surrogate models. The generated solutions exhibit excessive randomness, which tends to reduce the likelihood of generating good-quality solutions and cause a long evolution to the optima. To improve SAEAs greatly, this work proposes an evolutionary algorithm based on surrogate and inverse surrogate models by 1) Employing a surrogate model in lieu of expensive (true) function evaluations;and 2) Proposing and using an inverse surrogate model to generate new solutions. By using the same training data but with its inputs and outputs being reversed, the latter is simple to train. It is then used to generate new vectors in objective space, which are mapped into decision space to obtain their corresponding solutions. Using a particular example, this work shows its advantages over existing SAEAs. The results of comparing it with state-of-the-art algorithms on expensive optimization problems show that it is highly competitive in both solution performance and efficiency. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation.

Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Enhanced Wireless Localization: Phase Optimization for Malicious Interference Mitigation

Recently, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) have merged as important enabling technologies for localization coverage extension and localization accuracy improvement under signal blockage and malicious interference conditions. However, most existing works assume known locations of jammers, which is generally impractical in real-world networks. To overcome this challenge, we propose a novel RIS-enhanced wireless localization framework against malicious interference with the support of either narrowband or orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) pilot signals. A two-stage anti-jamming localization approach is developed to first estimate the unknown channel and signal information of the jammer and then localize the user’s position by eliminating the jamming signal. More importantly, we utilize the full potential of RIS to improve localization accuracy by optimizing the phase shift profile during the iterative process. Extensive simulation results demonstrate the commendable performance of our proposed framework, which can not only mitigate the jamming effect but also achieve better localization accuracy, offering a good reference for future heterogeneous and complex wireless networks. © 1972-2012 IEEE.

Data security and access control method of blockchain with revocable attribute encryption in steel supply chain

With the rapid development of the steel supply chain, the volume of data generated has increased dramatically, revealing potential risks associated with traditional coarse-grained data access control mechanisms and centralized architectures. To address these challenges, a blockchain-based data access control method utilizing attribute revocation ciphertext policies is proposed. This method enhances existing schemes by introducing a pre-decryption process and integrating an attribute revocation list, thereby enabling real-time attribute revocation. In terms of security, this approach is validated based on the Decisional Bilinear Diffie-Hellman (DBDH) hypothesis, which is a difficult problem under asymmetric groups, ensuring data security. By leveraging the decentralized nature of blockchain technology, this method mitigates the risks associated with single points of failure in central certification institutions. The token request mechanism introduced enables users to request multiple resources simultaneously, thereby reducing the frequency of operations. Compliant requests are authenticated, granted permissions, and subsequently returned to the user via a token. Additionally, this method integrates the Interplanetary File System (IPFS) and employs both chain-up and chain-down storage modes, effectively addressing issues related to insufficient blockchain capacity and system efficiency. The research validates the efficacy of this approach in enhancing efficiency and resolving challenges within the steel supply chain, providing substantial support for the industry’s digital transformation. Experimental results indicate that when handling large-scale attribute sets, both pre-decryption and decryption times remain stable at approximately 100 milliseconds, thereby achieving efficient and fine-grained access control to blockchain data. In real-world datasets, leveraging the low-rank and sparsity properties enables developing efficient algorithms across a diverse array of data-related tasks, including compression, compressed sensing, matrix completion, etc. Notably, these two properties often coexist in certain real-world datasets, especially in Boolean datasets and quantized real-valued datasets. To harness the advantages of low-rank and sparsity simultaneously, we adopt a technique inspired by compressed sensing and Boolean matrix completion. Our approach entails compressing a low-rank sparse Boolean matrix by performing inner product operations with a randomly generated Boolean matrix. We then propose a decoding algorithms based on message-passing techniques to recover the original matrix. Our experiments demonstrate superior recovery performance of our proposed algorithms compared to Boolean matrix completion, with equal measurement requirements.

In this paper, a dual-beam photothermal self-mixing substance trace detection system is proposed. The crystal violet (CV) solution of the sample undergoes a thermal lens effect under the action of pump photoperiod excitation, and the refractive index changes cause the deviation of the probe beam, and the self-mixing interference (SMI) effect occurs when the modulated light returns to the cavity. By combining theoretical and experimental results, the power fluctuation of the SMI signal caused by the thermo-optic effect is linearly related to CV concentration and other parameters. At an excitation power of 24 mW, the detection limit can reach $8.0 \times {10^{- 8}}\;{\rm mol/L}$ . This method does not require labeling or complex CV pretreatment and has high sensitivity and flexibility, providing a guide for CV characterization in biological, environmental, and pharmaceutical research.

Aquaculture pathogens pose serious risks to aquatic livestock and global food safety. Key threats in shrimp farming include white spot syndrome virus (WSSV), Vibrio parahaemolyticus (causing acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease, AHPND), and Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP). Rapid, on-site detection is critical for early detection and outbreak prevention. In this study, we developed a portable, smartphone-based diagnostic platform utilizing multiplex loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) for simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens in a single reaction. A PDMS microchip with 30 reaction wells (5 × 6 array) and a temperature control well was fabricated for efficient multiplexing. Immobilized LAMP reagents with freeze-drying lyophilization were preloaded into wells to streamline preparation and enhance stability. The system successfully identified both waterborne indicator bacteria (E. coli, E. faecalis, Salmonella) and major shrimp pathogens (WSSV, AHPND, EHP) in samples from Penaeus vannamei, Penaeus monodon, and aquaculture water. The microchip maintained stable isothermal conditions (65.1 ± 0.6 °C), enabling visual detection via color change at low DNA concentrations (as low as 4 copies/μL). All WSSV and EHP infections in shrimp tissues and water samples were correctly identified using LAMP reaction within 35 min (excluding the DNA extraction process), demonstrating 100% positive detection rates. The smartphone interface allowed real-time imaging and result interpretation, offering a rapid, user-friendly tool for in situ pathogen monitoring. This platform represents a practical, low-cost solution for field diagnostics and improved disease management in aquaculture. © 2025 The Authors
