In addition to its use in building and agriculture, global solar irradiance is one of the most critical aspects in designing and considering any solar station's volume. Because the Iraqi metrological organization and seismology lack exact information regarding irradiance, this project aims to use historical global data, develop numerical analysis using artificial neural networks, and forecast hourly irradiance. The test is run over Basra to determine references to their nearest places. The learning technique in this study is a forward neural network (FNN) and time series neural network. Their comparison dep.nds on seven input variables: temperature, wind speed, wind direction, sunshine duration, and date. One of the most essential integrated and impactful events for managing the system of new and renewable energy sources in the power grid is accurate solar energy forecasting. The study offers a valuable method for forecasting solar energy generation using neural networks. It is difficult to apply neural networks to anticipate PV power generation because of the unpredictability of variations in the weather;unlike traditional mathematical models, which struggle to handle complicated nonlinear interactions and provide poor predictions, neural network approaches achieve superior prediction performance. The suggested forecasting model based on neural networks provides a practical means of raising the accuracy of PV generation estimation. © 2024 IEEE.

The challenge of credit card fraud presents a significant threat to both consumers and financial institutions alike, leading to substantial economic detriment. In response, this research applies various machine learning strategies to sift through transactional data for the identification of fraudulent activities. Specifically, we employ logistic regression, decision trees, and random forest algorithms to analyze a compiled dataset of genuine and deceptive transactions. This dataset undergoes segmentation into training and testing phases, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of each algorithm's effectiveness. The determination of accuracy scores across these phases serves as a metric for model evaluation. The findings lay down an essential groundwork for ongoing exploration into leveraging machine learning for the mitigation of credit card fraud. The integration of these analytical models promises to bolster the fraud detection capabilities of both financial entities and individual cardholders, significantly reducing the incidence of financial loss. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces AbotalebNet, a novel deep learning architecture optimized for time series forecasting, with a particular focus on the complexities of COVID-19 data. Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) system is vulnerable to spoofing attacks that can easily where attackers can easily pose as a legal entity of the network. A 'spoofing attack' refers to a type of cyber-attack when an attacker purposefully impersonates or masquerades as someone or something else to deceive the target or obtain unauthorized access to systems, information, or resources. In such attacks, the attacker alters their name, IP address, or other attributes to fool the victim into thinking they are engaging with a legitimate entity. Spoofing attacks can take place via a variety of channels, including, ARP and DNS spoofing. Therefore. Spoofing attacks can have serious consequences. We proposed a new approach based on three machine learning models LightGBM, Gradient Boost, and XGBoost to classify attacks on spoofing, we used Chi-square to select the best features to get the highest performance, and we demonstrated that the results using Chi-square achieved higher results than without Chi-square and improved the result with a rate three percent of accuracy. In terms of results, LightGBM outperformed other models by achieving 89%, 91 %, 87 %, and 89 % for accuracy, precision, recall, and f1-score, respectively. This shows the potential and efficiency of Chi-square to achieve the best performance by selecting the best features, thus providing a secure system and identifying cyber-attacks on systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The kidneys have the important function of filtering waste products and toxins from the blood in the human body. Any problems affecting the kidneys can potentially impact their efficiency and overall function. Kidney Tumor (KT) is a disease that specifically affects kidney cells and causes the abnormal growth of tissue in one or both kidneys. Assessing the risk of developing a kidney tumor and identifying the key factors that contribute to this risk are crucial for ensuring patient well-being. Additionally, this information assists doctors and specialists in making faster and more accurate diagnoses, determining appropriate treatment methods, and potentially influencing the course of the disease to minimize its severity and impact. Machine learning algorithms have recently been introduced to evaluate disease risks, and in this study, we specifically focus on examining the risk of kidney tumor development and investigating the influencing factors. We employed a logistic regression model to predict if a patient is at risk of developing a kidney tumor or not, and further categorized the samples into high-risk and low-risk groups. Our model was trained and tested using a unique dataset obtained from the (KAUH) hospital in Jordan, consisting of well-balanced metadata from 120 patients with kidney issues. Our work demonstrated accuracy results ranging from 90% to 98%. Ultimately, specialists can utilize our model as an additional tool to enhance the speed and accuracy of patient diagnoses © 2023 IEEE.

Nowadays, the rapid growth of Internet of Things (IoT) devices has changed many parts of our lives by providing seamless connectivity and automation. However, this expansion has created new challenges and vulnerabilities, especially with regard to security. Mirai botnet, a strain of malware that has severely damaged the IoT ecosystem, is one of the prominent risks to IoT security. This research examines the impact of the Mirai botnet on IoT devices. In this study, we present a hybrid model to detect Mirai attacks. Deep neural networks (DNNs) are used to extract significant deep features, which are subsequently passed to the (Light Gradient Boosting Machine) LGBM algorithm for classification. A dataset from the Canadian Institute 2023 that included several kinds of Internet of Things assaults was used to assess the model. The model achieved excellent feature extraction and promising results with accuracy, recall, precision, and F1-score scoring up to 95 % for all. These accuracy results demonstrated the superior performance of the suggested model over competing techniques, which had scores of 71 %, 85%, and 52%, respectively, for Support Vector Machine (SVM), Light Gradient Boosting Machine (LGBM), and Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD). Furthermore, the model outperforms the DNN model, which received a score of 65%. © 2023 IEEE.

Web-based applications are now the preferred approach for delivering a variety of services via the Internet. As a result of the globalization of commerce, web applications have been growing quickly and becoming increasingly complicated. Such applications have a significant security vulnerability in the online environment since they were developed with little experience and without testing or validation. Numerous attackers use this security vulnerability to take control of the program, modify the data, and steal the most crucial information. They may also access all internal, unauthorized items. This work presents a hybrid model that classifies website attacks as benign through the integration of four machine learning algorithms: gradient boost (GB), multilayer perceptron (MLP), logistic regression (LR) and K nearest neighbor (KNN). The work dep.oyed Tree-based Pipeline Optimization Tool (TPOT) that utilizes the Genetic algorithm (GA) to extract the optimal parameter and consequently enhance the model performance. The model underwent evaluation utilizing a data set from the Canadian Institute 2023 that contains various types of attacks. Among these algorithms, GB achieved the best accuracy scores of 95%, 94% and 95% for accuracy, recall and F1-score, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of things (IoT) is getting more and more intrusive into our lives until the day comes when everything becomes connected to the Internet. Due to the limited resources and heterogeneous Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the traditional means of protection are useless and cannot be used to protect these devices. The most important security risks, their causes and the consequences of their occurrence have been listed, scheduled and categorized. The study concluded that there are real security risks that cannot be ignored, and they need to find innovative solutions to eliminate them or reduce their damage to a minimum. This paper showed the main risks addressed in previews research, and outlined the gaps in this field of technology, also producing a brief summary information about the most important solution to avoid many threats against the IoT field. © 2023 IEEE.

A major weakness of Mobile CrowdSensing Platforms (MCS) is the willingness of users to participate, as this implies disclosing their private data (for example, concerning mobility) to the MCS platform. In the effort to enforce data privacy in the creation of mobility coverage maps using an MCS platform, recent work proposes the use of a spatially distributed approach that, however, is vulnerable to data injection attacks. In this contribution, we define and implement a progressive attacker model following a statistical approach. We propose a novel mitigation strategy based on unsupervised anomaly detection. Accessing the coverage performance with real-world mobility data indicates that the mean value of the attacker's profile determines the probability of being revealed. In particular, we are able to identify the attacker and filter out the data injected by the attackers with high precision. © 2024 IEEE.

This study examines decision-making in software re-engineering within businesses, focusing on the challenges and considerations involved. Financial constraints, time, and staff efforts are critical factors in these decisions. The study identifies difficulties faced by top-level management with legacy systems, existing systems, underused systems, and packaged software due to user resistance and customer dissatisfaction. The primary goal of the study is to assess the importance of software quality factors, especially from the users' perspective, in making re-engineering decisions. It uses the ISO 9126 Model to analyze quality elements in the case study software, aiming to provide guidance for deciding whether to proceed with re-engineering. The study explores functionality, reliability, usability, efficiency, maintainability, and portability as factors influencing re-engineering decisions, based on the ISO 9126 model. To understand user interactions and program performance, the study used unstructured participant observation in the case study software, highlighting the challenges faced by top management due to user resistance. These findings were further confirmed through face-to-face interviews with software users and department employees, offering insights into their perspectives on software quality elements. The results reveal that, despite some flaws, the system has valuable features and capabilities. Most employees express a desire to undergo re-engineering to enhance service quality, align with ISO 9126 standards, and leverage the expertise of competent staff for re-engineering activities. © 2023 IEEE.
