This paper presents the fuzzy modeling approach to the description QV curve of power system for analysis of voltage stability. Voltage instability of power system comes from increasing load rapidly, and causes bus voltage to drop. When voltage is out of control and it can be voltage collapse. The QV curve can identify voltage stability limit, and it determine robustness of power system. The method of fuzzy modeling has been proven to be well-suited for modeling nonlinear industrial processes described by input-output data. In view of the nonlinear characteristic of the QV curve, the method of fuzzy modeling is employed for representing the curve. The fuzzy system model is basically a collection of fuzzy IF-THEN rules that are combined via fuzzy reasoning for describing the features of a system under study. Based on the Sugeno-type fuzzy model, various models with different numbers of modeling rules are used to describing the QV curve. It is found that such fuzzy model offers both quantitative and qualitative descriptions for the QV curve.

This paper presents the design of modal insensitivity for the synchronous generator in a power system using Eigenstructure Assignment. In the proposed design procedure, modal insensitivity of generator is achieved by assigning system eigenstructure and only algebraic computations are involved. Model insensitivity means that the concerned system mode shape is insensitive to small variations in the system. From the simulation results of the study in a single-machine-infinite-bus system are certified. It is found that the system damping has been greatly improved. The proposed design has improved on the sensitivity.

This paper used six formulas for power factor measurement, and they will be different according to the characteristics of load. The power quality is more and more serious, because a lot of information technology equipments and power electric converters were used in recent years. Harmonic and load unbalance can affect the measurement result of power factor of utility. The Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is used to analyze the six formula of power factor. The simulation system was modeled in Hardware Description Language (VHDL) and some novel IP (intellectual property) cores, such as CORDIC core and FFT core by the way of Bottom-Up. The technology of semiconductor was more and more maturely. Design of SOC (System On a Chip) is a trend to achieve the strong and small volume in the future. The measurement data were employed to calculate active, reactive and apparent power. The average error rate of our design is about 0.05%.

This paper presents a generalized direct power control (DPC) scheme for grid connected multilevel converters. The proposed method extends the original DPC operating principle by considering only for selection the closest vectors to the present switching state. This approach requires the power derivatives for feedback, which can present numerical implementation problems in real time. Therefore a grid virtual flux based observer is proposed to overcome this issue. The proposed method is applicable to any multilevel converter topology of any number of levels. In this paper simulations results are presented for a 9 level cascaded H-bridge converter. The proposed solution enables DPC for multilevel converters used in medium voltage applications while improving overall power quality and efficiency of the system.

In recent years, power electronic components introduce harmonic pollution on electric power systems. It makes the traditional electromechanical power meter can not act accurately when it feeds unbalanced and harmonic loads. Power quality analysis now tends to use digital signal technology. But it is hard to avoid measurement errors in estimating power quality by digital signal technology. In this paper, it is to improve the computation errors by using FPGA. The simulation circuits were created and measured by Matlab. Then it will discuss the case of single-phase full-wave bridge rectifier loads. And then in the three-phase circuit the effective power factor, arithmetic power factor, and fundamental power factor will be compared in several simulation cases. In this paper, we address the compressive sensing signal reconstruction problem by solving an l_0-regularized Least Absolute Deviation (LAD) regression problem. A coordinate descent algorithm is developed to solve this l_0-LAD optimization problem leading to a two-stage operation for signal estimation and basis selection. In the first stage, an estimation of the sparse signal is found by a weighted median operator acting on a shifted-and-scaled version of the measurement samples with weights taken from the entries of the projection matrix. The resultant estimated value is then passed to the second stage that tries to identify whether the corresponding entry is relevant or not. This stage is achieved by a hard threshold operator with adaptable thresholding parameter that is suitably tuned as the algorithm progresses.
