Deep learning mechanisms allow computers to solve complex real-time problems with complex neural networks, it employs a vital role in health sector, for assisting the medical practitioners with quick and accurate decision making. Various studies on this research area proves that deep learning approaches are more effective in detecting facial paralysis, a common visible symptom of acute stroke. The sealing sign of stroke is facial weakness which destroys the newline muscle movements in the face on one or both sides of the nerves in the brain stream. Accurate and timely detection is most important and need of the golden hour, to patients effectively. Human assessment and traditional diagnostic methods have demonstrated poor inter rated reliability, demanding improved diagnostic tools. By analysing facial asymmetry and other relevant features like Face feature analysis, extracting characteristics such as eye shape, movement, and wrinkles from static images to detect facial weakness is done using various deep learning techniques. This work encompass the real-time challenges such as curating datasets, ethical concerns and data privacy of patients. The objective of this paper is to review the potentiality of various traditional to deep learning algorithms in automising the facial paralysis detection for accurate stroke diagnosis in patients. AI models can provide objective assessments that enhance the reliability of stroke detection. © 2025 IEEE.

The integration of software in the automotive industry has become increasingly complex and time-sensitive, necessitating the implementation of efficient tools. One such tool is the utilization of a generator. Over the past decade, the implementation of In-Vehicle-Infotainment systems has become ubiquitous, occupying a central position within vehicles. Another system present in vehicles is the Advanced Driver Assistance System. Despite their prevalence, these systems operate in isolation. However, the utilization of Android services and a service-client architecture can facilitate communication between disparate systems through the implementation of various service-client-based protocols. This study proposes the development of a generator for Android services that enable communication between Advanced Driver Assistance System systems through the use of CommonAPI proxy. The implementation of this generator will expedite the production process of code that integrates these independent systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid growth of mobile applications has led to serious security challenges, resulting in vulnerabilities. Automation in security testing methods is becoming popular, with the Automated Vulnerability Detection methodology being one such method. This work introduces a hybrid approach for detecting vulnerabilities in Android applications, combining static and dynamic analysis. The approach is accessible to both general users and expert developers, allowing for the identification of ingrained vulnerabilities in the source code. The hybrid model's effectiveness is assessed in various applications with different security flaws, providing a solid solution for automated vulnerability detection in Android applications, enhancing security and resilience in the mobile ecosystem. © 2024 IEEE.

In recent years, manufacturers are working parallel in developing and integrating two in-vehicle systems, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) and In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI). ADAS's purpose is to increase safety and aid the driver while the vehicle is in motion, by using various sensors to perceive the vehicle surrounding or the driver's errors and respond accordingly. Consumer applications in the IVI domain would significantly benefit from accessing such vehicle-specific data. Unfortunately, due to active vehicle system architecture requirements, the IVI domain cannot achieve communication with the ADAS by following traditional signal-oriented mechanisms. In addition, Android paved its way into the IVI domain as the most common Operating System because of its high flexibility and customization, but without being adapted for communication with ADAS. This paper offers a solution for enabling Android applications to access ADAS data via Java services. Data is procured over GENIVI company's SOME/IP-based communication middleware, integrated within the services. Communication performance is measured, evaluated, and limitations are identified. © 2023 IEEE.

This study presents a novel approach for brain MRI classification by integrating multiple state-of-the-art deep learning (DL) architectures, including VGG16, EfficientNet, MobileNet, AlexNet, and ResNet50, with an attention mechanism. The primary objective was to accurately detect the presence or absence of brain tumors—a critical challenge in medical diagnosis. The methodology was validated on a comprehensive dataset comprising 3264 brain MRI scans, systematically divided into training, validation, and testing subsets. Preprocessing techniques tailored for MRI data were employed to enhance input quality. Each model was initially developed and evaluated individually to establish a performance baseline before their integration. The proposed ensemble technique capitalized on the complementary strengths of these models to enhance classification accuracy and robustness. The inclusion of an attention mechanism further refined the models by emphasizing critical regions in the MRI scans, thereby boosting predictive performance. In addition, data augmentation techniques were applied to mitigate overfitting and increase dataset resilience. Performance metrics, including precision, accuracy, and recall, demonstrated significant improvements across all evaluations, particularly for the models incorporating the attention mechanism. These findings highlight the potential of combining advanced DL architectures with attention mechanisms as a promising strategy for precise and reliable brain tumor classification in MRI scans. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Flipped Classroom (FC) is an active learning design requiring the students to engage in pre-class learning activities to prepare for face-to-face sessions. Identifying FC learning behaviors that lead to academic success remains a challenge. This paper addresses this challenge by conducting an empirical study in an undergraduate software engineering course employing the FC model. The empirical study draws on the data from an intelligent tutoring system that captured the learning traces of students performing pre-class activities. These traces provided indicators of students’ regularity of engagement, which were then matched to their final exam scores. Regression models were trained to predict final exam scores based on the regularity of engagement indicators. Students were clustered based on their regularity of engagement indicators to uncover actionable feedback for future course iterations. The case study confirms the generalizability of earlier findings that the regularity of engagement is vital for student performance and that course-specific predictors significantly impact the models’ prediction performance. The increase in electricity-based equipment caused by technological advances results in inordinate energy consumption and request for day-to-day power. Furthermore, energy forecasting for individual residential customers acts increasingly as an important factor in operating and designing future grids. A variety of methodologies has been used in order to project energy usage at distinct layers of distribution and transferring systems. In the current study, a new hybrid deep learning approach is presented to estimate power usage in smart homes. First, our model processes the data, excludes missing values, scales the data, and transforms them to assure the model performance. The pre-processed data is subsequently introduced to the proposed joint model as input, which uses CNN, LSTM, Bi-LSTM to choose hybrid discriminative features. Eventually, the fully connected layers are employed. The experiments were carried out to assess and compare the forecasting performance of the proposed method with recent models using the IHEPC dataset, including several variants. The outcomes show that the suggested network has the lowest mean MSE, RMSE and MAPE, compared to other cutting-edge models. © 2024 IEEE.
