This article introduces a new medical internet of things(IoT)framework for intelligent fall detection system of senior people based on our proposed deep forest *** cascade multi-layer structure of deep forest classifier allows to generate new features at each level with minimal hyperparameters compared to deep neural ***,the optimal number of the deep forest layers is automatically estimated based on the early stopping criteria of validation accuracy value at each generated *** suggested forest classifier was successfully tested and evaluated using a public SmartFall dataset,which is acquired from three-axis accelerometer in a *** includes 92781 training samples and 91025 testing samples with two labeled classes,namely non-fall and *** results of our deep forest classifier demonstrated a superior performance with the best accuracy score of 98.0%compared to three machine learning models,i.e.,K-nearest neighbors,decision trees and traditional random forest,and two deep learning models,which are dense neural networks and convolutional neural *** considering security and privacy aspects in the future work,our proposed medical IoT framework for fall detection of old people is valid for real-time healthcare application deployment.

In this paper, a real-time smooth motion planning method for a four mecanum wheeled omnidirectional mobile robot in dynamic environments that generates a smooth collision-free trajectory is proposed. The method employs a graph-search-based path planning algorithm and a smoothing technique based on clothoids. It is suitable for real-time operation due to its computational simplicity and allows fast path replanning in case the robot encounters unknown and dynamic obstacles. Such a path is feasible for holonomic mobile robots since it does not contain sharp turns so the energy consumption is reduced. Our method is compared to the reactive model predictive control scheme in simulations. The comparison showed advantages of the proposed method in the reduced task execution time, path length, cumulative replanning time, and smooth velocity profile. © 2022 IEEE.

Telugu Language Analysis with XLM-RoBERTa: Enhancing Parts of Speech Tagging for Effective Natural Language Processing

This research investigates the efficacy of XLM-RoBERTa, a potent deep learning architecture rooted in transformer networks, for Part-of-Speech (POS) tagging—a foundational task in Natural Language Processing (NLP). The study narrows its focus to address the formidable UCD Telugu dataset, renowned for its intricate morphological characteristics that pose challenges to accurate tagging. Through meticulous fine-tuning of the pre-trained XLM-RoBERTa model. This study adeptly discerns and exploit intricate syntactic and semantic patterns underpinning the interplay between lexical elements and their respective POS tags. The rigorous evaluation regimen, complemented by a comprehensive statistical comparison with the Multilingual BERT model, conclusively establishes XLM-RoBERTa’s superiority. This advanced model attains a remarkable accuracy score of 91%, decisively surpassing the Multilingual BERT model, which achieves an accuracy of 88%. These findings not only underscore XLM-RoBERTa’s prowess in precise POS tagging, especially in the context of morphologically rich languages like Telugu, but also carry significant implications for the broader NLP community. This research unlocks valuable insights and positions XLM-RoBERTa as an exemplar of reliability and robustness in POS tagging. Internet of Things(IoT)is the most widespread and fastest growing technology *** to the increasing of IoT devices connected to the Internet,the IoT is the most technology under security *** IoT devices are not designed with security because they are resource constrained ***,having an accurate IoT security system to detect security attacks is *** Detection Systems(IDSs)using machine learning and deep learning techniques can detect security attacks *** paper develops an IDS architecture based on Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)deep learning *** implement our model on the UNSW-NB15 dataset which is a new network intrusion dataset that cate-gorizes the network traffic into normal and attacks *** this work,interpolation data preprocessing is used to compute the missing ***,the imbalanced data problem is solved using a synthetic data generation *** experiments have been implemented to compare the performance results of the proposed model(CNN+LSTM)with a basic model(CNN only)using both balanced and imbalanced ***,with some state-of-the-art machine learning classifiers(Decision Tree(DT)and Random Forest(RF))using both balanced and imbalanced *** results proved the impact of the balancing *** proposed hybrid model with the balance technique can classify the traffic into normal class and attack class with reasonable accuracy(92.10%)compared with the basic CNN model(89.90%)and the machine learning(DT 88.57%and RF 90.85%)***,comparing the proposed model results with the most related works shows that the proposed model gives good results compared with the related works that used the balance techniques.

STGNN: a new self-trained generalized neural networks task space control for robot manipulators

The inherent uncertainties in the dynamic and kinematic parameters of robot manipulators pose significant challenges for their control in task space. This paper introduces an innovative adaptive sliding mode control strategy, leveraging self-trained generalized neural networks to enhance the precision and robustness of robot manipulator control. The proposed framework called STGNN integrates deep neural networks for the real-time estimation and adjustment of dynamics’ and kinematics’ parameters. Key contributions of this work include the development of semi-supervised learning models for adaptive dynamics and kinematics estimation. By training the generalized neural network on different trajectories, the same models can be utilized to operate on a variety of tasks, significantly improving the robustness, scalability, and adaptability of the control system. The STGNN approach allows the models to leverage both labeled and unlabeled data, incorporating a self-training mechanism that enhances their ability to generalize and adapt to diverse operational scenarios. This capability is particularly beneficial for real-time applications, where the ability to learn and adapt on the fly is crucial. Simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of the STGNN framework in controlling robot manipulators in operational space, showcasing its potential for real-world applications. Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, visual impairment poses significant challenges for approximately 17.5% of school-aged children, mainly due to refractive errors. These challenges extend to everyday navigation, environmental interaction, and overall life quality. Motivated by the desire to empower visually impaired individuals, who face navigational limitations, difficulties in object recognition, and inadequate assistance from traditional technologies, we propose SightAid. This innovative wearable vision system utilizes a deep learning-based framework, addressing the gaps left by current assistive solutions. Traditional methods, such as canes and GPS devices, often fail to meet the nuanced and dynamic needs of the visually impaired, especially in accurately identifying objects, understanding complex environments, and providing essential real-time feedback for independent navigation. SightAid comprises a seven-phase framework involving data collection, preprocessing, and training of a sophisticated deep neural network with multiple convolutional and fully connected layers. This system is integrated into smart glasses with augmented reality displays, enabling real-time object detection and recognition. Interaction with users is facilitated through audio or haptic feedback, informing them about the location and type of objects detected. A continuous learning mechanism, incorporating user feedback and new data, ensures the system's ongoing refinement and adaptability. For performance assessment, we utilized the MNIST dataset, and an Indoor Objects Detection dataset tailored for the visually impaired, featuring images of everyday objects crucial for safe indoor navigation. SightAid demonstrates remarkable performance with accuracy up to 0.9874, recall values between 0.98 and 0.99, F1-scores ranging from 0.98 to 0.99, and AUC-ROC values reaching as high as 0.9999. Arabic script is exhibited in a cursive style, which is a departure from the norm in many common languages, and the shapes of letters are contingent on their positions within words. The form of the first letter is influenced by the subsequent letter, middle letters are shaped by both preceding and succeeding letters, and the shape of the final letter is determined by the preceding letter. Additionally, certain letters are found to have strikingly similar shapes, making Arabic text recognition a formidable challenge in computer vision. The challenge of detecting and recognizing Arabic handwritten text is addressed in this paper by proposing a novel system that integrates two Deep Learning models without the constraints of a predefined dictionary or language model. Object Detection techniques are employed in the first model to accurately identify lines, words, and punctuation marks, providing a robust foundation for text recognition. In the second model, a powerful recognition system is developed, trained on the IFN/ENIT dataset to predict character sequences from handwritten text images. The architecture is comprised of a convolutional neural network (CNN) with residual connections, followed by a Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory (BLSTM) layer, and culminates in a fully connected layer. State-of-the-art results in unconstrained Arabic text recognition tasks are achieved by this approach. © 2025 The Author(s).

An ensemble deep learning model for cyber threat hunting in industrial internet of things

Cognition2Vocation: meta-learning via ConvNets and continuous transformers

Estimating the suitability of individuals for a vocation via leveraging the knowledge within cognitive factors comes with numerous applications: employment resourcing, occupation counseling, and workload management. Accordingly, the enterprises aim to hire the most suitable person from a massive array of similar applicants, maximizing performance and minimizing the gap between strategic indicators and predefined targets. While cognitive factors signify the best-suited person from similarly skilled workers, inferring pertinent latent cues from noisy and growing social network contents is time-intensive. To tackle the challenges involved, we propose a framework that, on the one hand, extends influential features based on the correlations between cognitive cues and, on the other hand, leverages a novel continuous transformer to mitigate the overlapping and approximation issues in discrete modeling. Rather than relying on discrete patterns that may evolve frequently, we use continuous elements that include not only numerous aggregating components but also sense minor irregular fluctuations. In a hybrid manner, we fuse multiple base models to transfer a higher representation to the meta-learning unit, agglomerating outputs from gradient boosters and the ConvNets. The experimental results show that our proposed framework can outperform trending vocation estimation methods by 1.36% in F1-Score and approximately 1% in accuracy. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.
