Colorectal polyps are common intestinal diseases, in which image segmentation of colorectal polyps is crucial for diagnosis and treatment. With the development of deep learning, semantic segmentation technology has been widely used in colorectal polyp image analysis. Among them, the U-Net model is a widely used deep learning model, which is simple and effective and shows good performance in medical image segmentation tasks. This article mainly introduces the semantic segmentation technology of colorectal polyp images based on U-Net, including the basic structure, characteristics and advantages of the U-Net model, and its application in semantic segmentation of colorectal polyp images. At the same time, this article also reviews colorectal polyp image segmentation technology based on deep learning in recent years, focuses on the related research on the U-Net model and its improvements, and compares and analyzes various methods. In the methods and experiments section, this article introduces the structure, data set and experimental settings of the U-Net model in detail, as well as analyzes and compares the experimental results of U-Net-based colorectal polyp image semantic segmentation technology. Finally, this article summarizes the main contributions of the research and discusses prospects and challenges for future applications. © 2023 IEEE.

Quantum search algorithms, such as the Grover algorithm, are investigated as one of the ways to solve a traveling salesman problem (TSP). In TSP, the quantum search starts from an equal superposition of all feasible solutions. The embedding cost of all feasible solutions is up to exponential, i.e., O(n!) with n cities, and makes it difficult to solve large-scale TSP. Hence, preparing the initial state of TSP at a lower embedding cost is an important issue. Here, we propose a quantum search algorithm based on the divide-and-conquer approach, which divides each constraint term of the TSP into subproblems and applies the quantum search to each subproblem. We investigate the embedding quality of all feasible solutions by comparing our proposed method with the Grover algorithm regarding optimal iterations and success probability. The results show that our quantum divide-and-conquer approach can significantly reduce the embedding cost while the success probability decreases. © 2023 IEEE.

Measuring 5G systems is a major challenge for measurement engineers, who need to be aware of all the limitations of the new generation The parameters of the frequency-selective measurement system (spectrum analyzer - ROHDE & SCHWARZ FSH8) were investigated in the measurement of 5G NR SSB signals (3.4 – 3.8 GHz). The focus was on the setting parameters which, according to the literature, have an influence on the measurement: RBW, VBW, SWEEP TIME and the duration of the measurement. All measurements were carried out in zero-span mode. In the second part of the measurement, these SSB synchronization signal measurement results were compared with the 5G signal measurement results at the same location using the NARDA SRM-3006 device equipped with a decoder for the 5G NR system (FR1) to determine the optimal method for measuring these signals with a spectrum analyzer (SA).The measurement results show that the resolution bandwidth (RBW) has the largest variation in the measured electric field (EF) strength values of the SSB 5G NR signal of 17.20 dB (MH/RMS) and 17.70 (RMS/AGV10). It is therefore necessary to pay particular attention to the setting of this measurement parameter. In addition, the video resolution (VBW) shows a significantly lower field strength variation of 2.50 dB, but also the same deviation from the reference value of 2.50 dB (RMS/AGV10). Other analyzed parameters have a negligible influence on the measurement of the EF *** post-processing was performed in the work to determine the final (maximum) value of the EF strength at the points of assumed highest exposure, which is used to assess the impact and compliance with the permissible values according to the relevant standards.

Intelligent vehicle tracking and detection are crucial tasks in the realm of highway ***,vehicles come in a range of sizes,which is challenging to detect,affecting the traffic monitoring system’s overall *** learning is considered to be an efficient method for object detection in vision-based *** this paper,we proposed a vision-based vehicle detection and tracking system based on a You Look Only Once version 5(YOLOv5)detector combined with a segmentation *** model consists of six *** the first step,all the extracted traffic sequence images are subjected to pre-processing to remove noise and enhance the contrast level of the *** pre-processed images are segmented by labelling each pixel to extract the uniform regions to aid the detection phase.A single-stage detector YOLOv5 is used to detect and locate vehicles in *** detection was exposed to Speeded Up Robust Feature(SURF)feature extraction to track multiple *** on this,a unique number is assigned to each vehicle to easily locate them in the succeeding image frames by extracting them using the feature-matching ***,we implemented a Kalman filter to track multiple *** the end,the vehicle path is estimated by using the centroid points of the rectangular bounding box predicted by the tracking *** experimental results and comparison reveal that our proposed vehicle detection and tracking system outperformed other state-of-the-art *** proposed implemented system provided 94.1%detection precision for Roundabout and 96.1%detection precision for Vehicle Aerial Imaging from Drone(VAID)datasets,respectively.

This study investigates the relationship between the diameter of a D-shaped plastic optical fiber (POF) sensor and its optical response as a function of varying salt concentrations. A simple and efficient dry etching polishing technique was employed to create D-shaped POF sensors with a range of diameters. All the fabricated sensors were carefully developed to maintain a consistent length of 20 cm with a sensing region of 1cm. To evaluate the optical intensity response, each sensor, with its respective diameter, was examined with the salt concentration ranging from (0 to 5%) examination utilizing a spectrometer. The sensor response was characterized by quantifying the variations observed in the intensity of the optical signal propagating through the sensing region. The sensors having a diameter of 500 μm, 700 μm, and 900 μm had a sensitivity of 149 A.U/%salt, 66 A.U/%salt, and 11.2 A.U/%salt respectively. The sensitivity of the 500 μm diameter sensor increased 13 times approximately as compared to the sensor having diameter of 900 μm. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

The accuracy and timeliness tradeoff prevents Digital Twins (DTs) from realizing their full potential. High accuracy is crucial for decision-making, and timeliness is equally essential for responsiveness. Therefore, this tradeoff in DT communication must be addressed to achieve DT synchronization. Previous studies identified the issue but considered the problem as maximizing data transfer, which is infeasible due to resource constraints. To facilitate this, we quantify accuracy and timeliness as E and and define the problem as joint minimisation. We then introduce the Intelligent DT Communication (IDTC) Framework to solve the problem, which includes machine learning-based Predictive Synchronization (PS) and DT synchronization management (DTSYNC) protocol. Here, PS uses imputation and forecasting to generate future values, which are utilized to update DT at the projected time points. This mechanism of PS enables lowering E and of the communication. Subsequently, we utilize the DTSYNC to control synchronization and optimise the twining frequency ft. We evaluate the proposed framework using a public dataset and compare its performance with several state-of-the-art studies in a real-world scenario. Evaluation results indicate that IDTC outperforms the existing methods by 80% for E and 84% for while enabling ft adjustment, resulting in 3.8 times goodput improvement. © 2015 IEEE.

As a developing country, Sri Lanka needs to go along with cutting-edge technologies. In the beginning phase of this digital advertising, multiple advertisements were displayed on the users' feeds, including advertisements despite their preferences. This was a terrible user experience for the users. However, smart advertising based on customer preferences can manage the flow of advertisements on the feed as per the users' preferences. This same technique can be used in handling advertisements while shopping at supermarkets. These advertisements can be directed based on demographic characteristics like face and gender and previous customer transactions. Additionally, providing the nearest supermarket they can reach based on their current location. Queue management is the next most crucial facility that needs to be provided to a supermarket. However, the manual system of queue management is not effective. But with a modernized queue management system, overcrowded supermarkets can be managed effectively. This proposed system also considers providing a chatbot service to manage customer inquiries in a reliable strategy. In this system, we mainly used the Keras model called VGGFace for face detection, the Conventional Neural Network and Keras-based model for gender detection, the TensorFlow model called Single Shot MultiBox Detection MobileNet for queue and crowd detection, the Apriori algorithm base model for predicting the buying pattern, a Keras-based model for Artificial Intelligence chatbot and finally, google map Application Programming Interface for the nearest supermarket finding are models and technology. This system was developed to manage a supermarket properly. © 2022 IEEE.

"Artificial lung" is a device that simulates breathing process of occupants in a room. This allows you to safely test, e.g., the impact of HVAC systems on the spread of pathogens. The paper describes the concept of the device, its construction and performed tests. The project was implemented by students of two faculties: Automatic control, Electronics and computer Science, and Energy and Environmental engineering. The Paper explores different aspects of deep learning techniques and neural networks in the fields of healthcare, time-series forecasting, agriculture, and other relevant sectors through soft computing. The objective of the report is to examine the significant potential and applications of neural networks. While machine learning techniques called neural networks (NN) are utilized for audio, picture, and the processing of natural languages, it has huge implications in robotics where several machine learning algorithms are significantly required. Improvements in deep machine learning are also investigated in the article specifically in the fields of drug construction, genetics, recognizing faces, farming, biological medicine, biological informatics, medical treatment, natural language, multimedia analysis of data, and mobility prediction. However black box challenges and privacy concerns with data are often ignored in this research. The paper also outlines deep learning-driven data mining techniques for precisely predicting, displaying, evaluating, and classifying data. The report has also emphasized on addressing the potential privacy concerns and challenges associated to information representation. By reviewing recent literature sources about neural network techniques, the study proposes innovation strategies and potential improvement areas for the development of advanced technologies like deep learning and neural networks while addressing the key privacy concerns in data processing. © 2024 IEEE.
