Application of Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm in Solving Second-Order Differential Equations

This paper presents the use of the Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm to solve second order initial value problems (IVPs). The numerical methods like RK4 and RK-Gill are not very efficient in terms of accuracy, versatility and computational time especially with large step sizes. Based on the foraging behavior of honey bees the ABC approach is capable of enhancing the search for solutions in the search space to achieve the best solution. In this paper we use the second order IVPs to test the performance of the ABC algorithm and compare it with the exact solution, RK4, and RK-Gill methods. The efficacy of the proposed ABC algorithm in terms of accuracy and comparison to other methods is shown in tables and heat maps with zero visible error on several datasets. This shows that the proposed method is accurate and consistent in providing numerical solutions free from rounding off errors. Furthermore, we investigate the combination of the ABC algorithm with conventional numerical techniques and state-of-the-art computing approaches including adaptive step size methods and parallel computing in order to enhance the solution quality and accuracy. The paper also examines how integrating the proposed ABC algorithm with intelligent and machine learning approaches can be useful in extending the possibilities of numerical methods for solving differential equations and demonstrates its versatility as a computational intelligence method for different applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This paper introduces a new method for traffic anomaly identification within the Faster R-CNN framework by combining the DenseNet module with the region proposals (RPs) processing block. The suggested approach seeks to improve feature extraction and RP creation in aerial imagery or CCTV frames to get beyond the drawbacks of the current methods. Discriminative features are extracted through DenseNet, and the RPs block makes it easier to provide a wide range of accurate and varied area proposals. Contrast correction techniques are applied to overcome the difficulties presented by low-resolution and low-contrast images frequently seen in surveillance scenarios. Comparing experimental results to state-of-the-art techniques, one can observe notable resilience and detection accuracy increases. The suggested method works exceptionally well in various traffic scenarios and environmental circumstances, indicating its potential for practical implementation in traffic surveillance systems. Overall, the study contributes to advancing the efficacy and reliability of anomaly detection in urban traffic environments. © 2024 SPIE.

Sensor fusion is a critical component of the IoT ecosystem, as it combines a variety of data streams from multiple sensors to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and real-time decision-making. This research concentrates on the development of robust sensor fusion algorithms that are capable of effectively managing the heterogeneity, noise, and uncertainty that are inherent in data from Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. Our primary focus is on the ability of these algorithmic methodologies to manage data from multi-modal sensors. We investigate algorithms that are based on deep learning, Bayesian inference, and Kalman filtering. The proposed solutions aim to improve the performance of systems in sectors that are influenced by the Internet of Things (IoT), including healthcare, smart cities, industrial automation, and autonomous cars. This investigation investigates the scalability, energy efficiency, and computational burden of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the context of limited resources. Through simulations and practical applications, we demonstrate the enhancement of data precision, defect tolerance, and overall system dependability by these robust sensor fusion techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

Intelligent monitoring systems have evolved due to technological improvement and innovation in biometric identification technology and protecting lives and property. As a result, intelligent monitoring systems are becoming increasingly prevalent. Consequently, this paper proposes the development of an IoT-based Human Tracking system that incorporates the Kalman Filter (KF) Algorithm. Apart from the deployment of the Kalman Filter, analysis was also done with an optimized Kalman filter with PSO (KF-PSO) using Particle Swarm Optimization. Rather than manually tuning the process noise error, R, and measurement error, Q, which are involved in KF, PSO was also used to adjust the errors to obtain their best values for optimal estimation. As a result, a two-dimensional (2D) Kalman filter is developed. The positions and velocities of the object being tracked (i.e., humans) are estimated in x- and y-directions. The proposed system has been evaluated using ten different human datasets, each consisting of 100 samples. The quality performance of KF and KF-PSO models was also compared using accuracy analysis. In comparison, the KF-PSO model yielded an average Mean-Square error of 17 mm (i.e., 1.7% error), while the conventional KF model gave an average Mean-Square error of 22 mm (i.e., 2.2% error). Hence, the KF-PSO model is a better filter than the conventional KF model because of its higher accuracy. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Black-box AI models tend to be more accurate but less transparent and scrutable than white-box models. This poses a limitation for recommender systems that rely on black-box models, such as Matrix Factorization (MF). Explainable Matrix Factorization (EMF) models are "explainable" extensions of Matrix Factorization, a state of the art technique widely used due to its flexibility in learning from sparse data and accuracy. EMF can incorporate explanations derived, by design, from user or item neighborhood graphs, among others, into the model training process, thereby making their recommendations explainable. So far, an EMF model can learn a model that produces only one explanation style, and this in turn limits the number of recommendations with computable explanation scores. In this paper, we propose a framework for EMFs with multiple styles of explanation, based on ratings and tags, by incorporating EMF algorithms that use scores derived from tag-centric graphs to connect rating neighborhood-based EMF techniques to tag-based explanations. We used precalculated explainability scores that have been previously validated in user studies that evaluated user satisfaction with each style individually. Our evaluation experiments show that our proposed methods provide accurate recommendations while providing multiple explanation styles, without sacrificing the accuracy of the recommendations. The advancements made in Internet of Things(IoT)is projected to alter the functioning of healthcare industry in addition to increased penetration of different ***,data security and private are challenging tasks to accomplish in IoT and necessary measures to be taken to ensure secure *** this background,the current paper proposes a novel lightweight cryptography method for enhance the security in *** proposed encryption algorithm is a blend of Cross Correlation Coefficient(CCC)and Black Widow Optimization(BWO)*** the presented encryption technique,CCC operation is utilized to optimize the encryption process of cryptography *** projected encryption algorithm works in line with encryption and decryption *** key selection is performed with the help of Artificial Intelligence(AI)tool named BWO *** the combination of AI technique and CCC operation,optimal security operation is improved in *** different sets of images collected from databases,the projected technique was validated in MATLAB on the basis of few performance metrics such as encryption time,decryption time,Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR),CC,Error,encryption time and decryption *** results were compared with existing methods such as Elliptical Curve cryptography(ECC)and Rivest-Shamir-Adleman(RSA)and the supremacy of the projected method is established.

Cardiac diseases are one of the greatest global health *** to the high annual mortality rates,cardiac diseases have attracted the attention of numerous researchers in recent *** article proposes a hybrid fuzzy fusion classification model for cardiac arrhythmia *** fusion model is utilized to optimally select the highest-ranked features generated by a variety of well-known feature-selection *** ensemble of classifiers is then applied to the fusion’s *** proposed model classifies the arrhythmia dataset from the University of California,Irvine into normal/abnormal classes as well as 16 classes of ***,at the preprocessing steps,for the miss-valued attributes,we used the average value in the linear attributes group by the same class and the most frequent value for nominal ***,in order to ensure the model optimality,we eliminated all attributes which have zero or constant values that might bias the results of utilized *** preprocessing step led to 161 out of 279 attributes(features).Thereafter,a fuzzy-based feature-selection fusion method is applied to fuse high-ranked features obtained from different heuristic feature-selection *** short,our study comprises three main blocks:(1)sensing data and preprocessing;(2)feature queuing,selection,and extraction;and(3)the predictive *** proposed method improves classification performance in terms of accuracy,F1measure,recall,and precision when compared to state-of-the-art *** achieves 98.5%accuracy for binary class mode and 98.9%accuracy for categorized class mode.

STGNN: a new self-trained generalized neural networks task space control for robot manipulators

The inherent uncertainties in the dynamic and kinematic parameters of robot manipulators pose significant challenges for their control in task space. This paper introduces an innovative adaptive sliding mode control strategy, leveraging self-trained generalized neural networks to enhance the precision and robustness of robot manipulator control. The proposed framework called STGNN integrates deep neural networks for the real-time estimation and adjustment of dynamics’ and kinematics’ parameters. Key contributions of this work include the development of semi-supervised learning models for adaptive dynamics and kinematics estimation. By training the generalized neural network on different trajectories, the same models can be utilized to operate on a variety of tasks, significantly improving the robustness, scalability, and adaptability of the control system. The STGNN approach allows the models to leverage both labeled and unlabeled data, incorporating a self-training mechanism that enhances their ability to generalize and adapt to diverse operational scenarios. This capability is particularly beneficial for real-time applications, where the ability to learn and adapt on the fly is crucial. Simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of the STGNN framework in controlling robot manipulators in operational space, showcasing its potential for real-world applications. The proposed method significantly advances the adaptability, accuracy, and efficiency of robot control systems, offering notable improvements over conventional approaches. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.
