As the largest class of small non-coding RNAs, piRNAs primarily present in the reproductive cells of mammals, which influence post-transcriptional processes of mRNAs in multiple ways. Effective methods for predicting piRNA and mRNA target relationships can help identify piRNA functions, investigate the possibility of piRNAs as biomarkers and therapeutic targets. In this study, we propose a computational approach for classifying the relationships of piRNA-mRNA pairs based on an interactive inference network (IIN). First, we gather piRNA-mRNA target data, collect sequence data by position alignment, and construct a benchmark dataset. Furthermore, a reliable negative set is constructed by positive-unlabeled learning. Finally, we view a piRNA and a mRNA sequence as a premise and hypothesis sentence, respectively, and IIN model is used to predict the relationship between them. The experiments demonstrate that our method effectively characterizes piRNA-mRNA interaction and could be beneficial for researchers to investigate piRNA functions.

With the help of the adaptive gain control algorithm and the flocking SWARM algorithm with adversarial agents, the project described in this article makes the entire system communication-free while maintaining the same functionality and performance. It outlines the entirety of this biologically inspired swarm intelligence's thought process, from inception to conclusion (Flocking algorithm). The entire project is dependable and practically impenetrable under a variety of conditions. The neighbor observation for group conjecture is then strengthened by the use of the adaptive gain control technique and a partial Kalman filter. After the system has been stabilized, use the built-in camera of the SWARM drone to introduce the Object Recognition method in computer vision. As a result, the system enters the real world from the simulation level.

Incremental few-shot semantic segmentation (IFSS) aims to incrementally expand a semantic segmentation model’s ability to identify new classes based on few samples. However, it grapples with the dual challenges of catastrophic forgetting (due to feature drift in old classes) and overfitting (triggered by inadequate samples in new classes). To address these issues, a novel approach is proposed to integrate pixel-wise and region-wise contrastive learning, complemented by an optimized example and anchor sampling strategy. The proposed method incorporates a region memory and pixel memory designed to explore the high-dimensional embedding space more effectively. The memory, retaining the feature embeddings of known classes, facilitates the calibration and alignment of seen class features during the learning process of new classes. To further mitigate overfitting, the proposed approach implements an optimized example and anchor sampling strategy. Extensive experiments show the competitive performance of the proposed method. A domain decomposition strategy for natural imposition of mixed boundary conditions in port-Hamiltonian systems

[Abstract] In this contribution, a finite element scheme to impose mixed boundary conditions without introducing Lagrange multipliers is presented for wave propagation phenomena described as port-Hamiltonian systems. The strategy relies on finite element exterior calculus and a domain decomposition to interconnect two systems with different causalities. The spatial domain is split into two parts by introducing an arbitrary interface. Each subdomain is discretized with a mixed finite element formulation that introduces a uniform boundary condition in a natural way as the input. In each subdomain the spaces are selected from a finite element subcomplex to obtain a stable discretization. The two systems are then interconnected together by making use of a feedback interconnection. This is achieved by discretizing the boundary inputs using appropriate spaces that couple the two formulations. The final systems includes all boundary conditions explicitly and does not contain any Lagrange multiplier. Each subdomain is integrated using an implicit midpoint scheme in an uncoupled way from the other by means of a leapfrog scheme. The proposed strategy is tested on three different examples: the Euler-Bernoulli beam, the wave equation and the Maxwell equations. Rational Modulation of Redox Equilibrium Over Mn Modified Ce-Sn Catalyst for Low-Temperature Elimination of No and Hg0

The synergistic catalytic removal of NO and Hg0 under low temperatures is still a great challenge. Here, we report a Mn-modified Ce-Sn catalyst for simultaneous removal of NO and Hg0 at low temperature. The optimum Mn0.2/Ce0.33Sn0.67 exhibited more than 95% NO conversion and N2 selectivity above 86% at 150-250 °C as well as Hg0 removal of nearly 100% within 150-300 °C. SnO2-promoted Ce-Sn solid solution enhanced the surface proportion of Ce3+, the number of surface chemisorbed oxygen and the electronic interaction within Ce-Sn linkage. Mn modification further reasonably promoted redox cycling at low temperatures and improved acidic distribution of catalyst. Under the cooperation of Ce-Sn and Mn sites, the presence of Hg0 could substantially facilitate the reduction of NO at 250-300 °C and the SCR atmosphere had a weak inhibitory effect on Hg0 removal. During the SCR process, the NH4+ and NH2 species that directly reacted with gaseous NO following the Eley−Rideal mechanism and the improved reactivity of NH2 with nitrates following the Langmuir−Hinshelwood mechanism enhanced the NO conversion efficiency at low temperature. Meanwhile, Mn modification could alleviate competitive adsorption of NH3 on Hg0 and promote the formation of more chemically adsorbed mercury species. This work will provide guidance for the design of low-temperature catalysts for the simultaneous removal of NO and Hg0 in flue gas. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The main objective of this work is to propose a solution to observer design for triangular systems where additional output measurements are available, which may improve the estimation quality. In fact, such additional measurements prevent the standard high-gain observer methodology to provide solutions for the estimation problem. In this paper, motivated by this issue, we propose two novel observer design methods to handle the additional output measurements. The first one can be viewed as an extension of the standard high-gain observer by introducing a weighting matrix as a tuning parameter, while the second method, which can be viewed as an alternative method, exploits jointly the high-gain methodology and the LPV/LMI technique to overcome some limitations related to the first design method. The proposed methods are applied to a vehicle trajectory estimation problem using the well-known kinematic model. The efficiency of the estimation using both proposed methods and a comparative study between them are provided.

In this paper, we consider the distributed adaptive fault-tolerant output regulation problem for heterogeneous multiagent systems with matched system uncertainties and mismatched coupling uncertainties among subsystems under the influence of actuator faults. First, distributed finite-time observers are proposed for all subsystems to observe the state of the exosystem. Then, a novel fault-tolerant controller is designed to compensate for the influence of matched system uncertainties and actuator faults. By using the linear matrix inequality technique, a sufficient condition is provided to guarantee the solvability of the considered problem in the presence of mismatched coupling uncertainties. Moreover, it is shown that the system in closed-loop with the developed controller can achieve output regulation by using the Lyapunov stability theory and cyclic-small-gain ***, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained result.

Completing the docking between two multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the air has great significance for expanding the application scenarios of multiple UAVs and improving their endurance capability. In this regard, this paper first designs a safe and autonomous docking scheme and constructs a sub-mother UAV *** address the issue of unstable flight in downwash airflow, this paper designs a high-performance control method suitable for the sub-mother UAV system based on Incremental Nonlinear Dynamic Inversion (INDI) and achieves robust attitude control with strong disturbance rejection capability. A UWB-based Ortho-UWB 3D positioning method is proposed in this paper with orthogonal installation, which, after being integrated with visual methods, enables high-precision 3D relative positioning during the docking process of the sub-mother UAV ***, the paper designs a complete docking process for the sub-mother UAVs and incorporates safety constraints into the docking process to ensure the safety of the docking process for both UAVs. Experiments of successfully docking the sub UAV to the mother UAV from bottom to top prove the feasibility and effectiveness of this scheme. © 2024 IEEE.

Wearable sensors have been rapidly developed for application in various human monitoring ***,the wearing comfort and thermal properties of these devices have been largely ignored,and these characteristics urgently need to be ***,we develop a wearable and breathable nanofiber-based sensor with excellent thermal management functionality based on passive heat preservation and active Joule heating *** multifunctional device consists of a micropatterned carbon nanotube(CNT)/thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU)nanofiber electrode,a microporous ionic aerogel electrolyte and a microstructured Ag/TPU nanofiber *** to the presence of a supercapacitive sensing mechanism and the appli-cation of microstructuration,the sensor shows excellent sensing performance,with a sensitivity of 24.62 ***,due to the overall porous structure and hydrophobicity of TPU,the sensor shows good breathability(62 mm/s)and water repellency,with a water contact angle of 151.2°.In addition,effective passive heat preservation is achieved by combining CNTs with high solar absorption rates(85%)as the top layer facing the outside,aerogel with a low thermal conductivity(0.063 W m-1 k-1)as the middle layer for thermal insulation,and Ag with a high infrared reflectance rate as the bottom layer facing the *** warming,this material yields a higher temperature than ***,the active Joule heat-ing effect is realized by applying current through the bottom resistive electrode,which can quickly increase the temperature to supply controlled warming on *** proposed wearable and breathable sensor with tunable thermal properties is promising for monitoring and heat therapy applications in cold environments.

Oscillation is a significant indication of the deterioration of control system performance and needs to be carefully monitored to ensure safe and stable process operations. However, industrial processes are often prone to noisy artifacts and nonstationary trends, resulting in low signal-to-noise ratios. In order to tackle this problem, this study introduces a novel framework for enhanced trend removal and noise reduction, which is featured by the following steps:(i) The circulant singular spectrum analysis (CiSSA) is used to decompose oscillation data into several reconstructed components (RCs). (ii) The estimated power spectral density (PSD) of these RCs is then smoothed using the Savitzky-Golay filter (SGF) to eliminate noise and identify the RCs corresponding to oscillatory components. (iii) These identified RCs are subsequently reconstructed to produce purified oscillatory data. The effectiveness of the suggested approach is validated using simulations and real-world industrial case studies. The findings indicate that the method notably enhances the quality of oscillatory data.
